At March 5's Northampton County Council meeting, Executive Tara Zrinski revealed that she's still unable to find a Fiscal Affairs Director. She told Council member Lori Vargo Heffner that it's difficult to "drag someone away from a high-earning fiscal job to a not-so-high-paying job that will probably give them a headache every time they come up here. ... It's gonna' take a special person."

a lengthy report was offered that indicated this was going to be handled. Where are her advisers and legal staff? The fiscal missteps and questionable fund intermingling must be stopped. The county is running out of time to get answers with no room to kick this down the road. Agencies that are monitoring and awaiting responses will again be placing hefty fines and citing the county again.
Just a thought maybe that special person is a person running for office, who in case he does not win has a special job waiting for him? What ya think?
Someone should ask the executive if , while attending a nice luncheon with Governor Shapiro, she ask for suggestions of where to find prospects for Gracedale’s Fiscal Director? Maybe someone could contact Premier Management to discuss getting advice on the current pressing concerns at Gracedale? Or Not.
Thanks to McClure the ship is sinking. Who would want to jump onto that ship?
What a mess.
Gotta find someone willing to bend the truth about what Lamont did.... and are still trying to do with county funds..
His advice would be to sell the place. That's what County Commissioner Shapiro did with the Montco Nursing Home.
What are you selling? Over 300 acres of land, older high maintenance buildings,
2,000 unemployed people, 650 ousted residents and patients,? Seriously, it’s easier said than accomplished, and how to determine a selling price would be interesting, to say the least ….
I think she hit the nail on the head, Who wants a low paying job in the public sector when you have people like John Brown and Goffredo deriding everything you do on a daily basis, I mean look at John Brown that POS ran the county into the ground and no one thought to not vote him on county council People are stupid except the ones who say no to this dead end job
Fear mongering again. Numerous other counties in the Commonwealth like Montco have left the nursing home business in an orderly fashion. In Norco, the nursing home, its gardens, and parking can be subdivided from the other county buildings and open space. The employees (those that aren't agency already) could work for, and the residents/patients would be cared for by the successor entity as part of the sale agreement process. A selling price can be determined by an RFP/RFQ competitive negotiation bid process between a buyer and the county as per the Administrative Code.
Yes Shapiro sold the Montgomery County Parkhouse Nursing Home and failed to preserve the land surrounding it and now they want to build hundreds of homes on that land and the residents are really pissed.
If you are afraid of questions about the use of public money you should not be in government service. Some in government do not understand that. The rubber stamps have more power now, so holding off on appointing someone may wait to see if Lamont needs the job.
Fear mongering my ass. It’s always the easy way out by just eliminating the humans who need rehab, who need assistance from Medicare, who are in a fiscal bind with health issues. Just like gentrification on pushing those out who aren’t as fortunate. Maybe looking at the decades of worthwhile work and good that Gracedale’ stands for has no worth to you , but eliminating it and removing the human aspect of assisting those in need of help cannot ever be replaced, especially if health concerns hit your own personal life,, once it’s sold off by any amount of money .
Shapiro is a phony, always on the look out for his bext gig. I wish he'd spend more time in PA. rather than running for Prez.
Shapiro is far from phony, and he just visited the Lehigh Valley this past week and was photo op-ed with Northampton County Executive, but I digress. It’s been media identified that the Northampton County Executive, has once again, taken her sights off County priorities and is pursuing information on a Nazareth Cement plant that has peaked her interest. Someone please tell the executive to stop chasing that which is outside of her responsibility and focus on that which is in her wheelhouse.
I’m not hearing about the new fiscal director…oh wait…there isn’t one.
