The world is a scary place. Donald Trump as President will make it much worse. That is my chief objection to him as President. He endangers national security. His unwillingness to stand by allies undermines our own safety.
He has stated that, contrary to our treaty obligations, he would refuse to help defend NATO allies who are "delinquent" in contributing to their own defense in the event they are attacked by Russia. “No, I would not protect you ... . In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”
It's bad enough that this bible hawker is unable to keep his own word, as numerous contractors can attest. But he will refuse to stand by America's treaty obligations as well.
Incidentally, the requirement that NATO nations devote 2% of GDP to their own defense is a benchmark set in 2014, not a treaty obligation. The person who asked nations to pay more was Barack Obama.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with holding and even displaying an America First attitude. I mean, how many millions of Americans willingly and proudly claim “My family comes first.” To me, belief in America First is similar.
To all of those who served in our military, I express my sincerest gratitude. I do understand nearly all of our Congress members did not serve in uniform. I would hope, however, their political allegiance is firmly rooted in holding America first. Far too many, sadly, behave in a manner in conflict with this concept. The disconnect reaches into both political parties.

The Cold War never ended. Russia has 6,000 warheads; about 2,000 on the ready. They are indeed a big threat. China is a threat, too, but I don't see Xi using anything from his (much smaller, but, really, how many do you need?) arsenal. Xi's war is based on building a solid economy and modernizing China's military and using that leverage to annex Taiwan. A conflict with the U.S. would likely be a stalemate with concessions since neither the U.S. or China want to use nukes. Putin, however, has threatened to use nukes. Xi isn't a madman. Putin is. Radical Islam is also a threat (especially if a terrorist cell that is well-financed, organized, and has the technical skill to use one) obtains a nuke, which would likely be of Russian, not Chinese origin.

I always try to see another person's point of view, and many times I can understand even if I don't agree. But not this time. After all the orange guy has done to tear apart norms and standards, I just don't see how anyone can still support him. I've heard many people say they don't like what Biden has done or would do in a second term, but I agree with those who say that we can survive policy we don't like because we have the ability to change leadership in four years. With Trump we get not only no policy other than worship-the-leader, we will likely lose the opportunity to elect anyone else in 2028.
About the attendance in Schnecksville, the 42,000 figure is much too high. In my somewhat learned experience estimating crowds, after analyzing the open acreage and other physical impediments to human occupation, I would put that attendance between 10-12,000. But, crowd estimates are usually highly inflated. Best local example is Musikfest. the claimed million-plus visitors is more likely 5-600,000, many who attend more than once within that number.
