McClur praised the work Cozze did but added that the county has been running elections for hundreds of years without Cozze and will continue to do so without her.
In November 2023, I caught her posting a comment critical of the McClure administration that she sent from her US Senate IP.

About Tara Zrinski
Tara Zrinski currently serves as Northampton County Controller, where she has implemented forward-thinking initiatives to improve county operations. She is currently on the Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and is the Academic Relations Chair. She is a member of the IIA and Association of Local Government Auditors (ALGA) as well as the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers.
As a former Northampton County Council At-Large member, she had a proven track record of leadership and advocacy for sustainable development, public health, and social equity. As a commissioner, she was the Chair of the Energy, Environment and Land Use Committee and the Economic Development Committee. She spear-headed the creation of an ad hoc Committee to promote the production, manufacturing and processing of industrial hemp as well as the Karst Geology Advisory Council to address concerns for the Bushkill Creek.
She was member of the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania and the Energy, Environment and Land Use Committee where she participated in the Solar Task Force. She previously held positions on the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority, Lehigh Planning Commission, Lehigh Economic Development Corporation, Conservation Districts Board and the Wildland’s Conservancy Boards.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and English with Specialized Honors from Drew University, and two Master’s Degrees, one in Theological Studies and the other in Pastoral Counseling, both from Moravian Theological Seminary, now Moravian University. She has taught Philosophy as an adjunct Professor at Northampton County Community College, Lehigh County Community College, Lehigh and DeSales. She worked as a labor organizer for Service Employee Industry Union, Healthcare in 2021. She is a mother of three boys, who was raised in Bethlehem Township, and currently lives in the City of Bethlehem.

The McClure machine has you really bound up. Thank God there is another candidate for democrats. Cozze is excellent despite your attacks on her. You have completely distorted her record as much as you have elevated Zirinski's. Cozze did a great job. Zirinski was ineffective on council and unable to work with her fellow council people. She was a shill for McClure as you often noted.
As she ran for every political job available, she finally snagged a fulltime govenrment job with no boss except Mcclure. Barron calls the shots and like most Controller offices' the trained staff does the work, and the Controller stays out of the way, she has been on the job for one year. She was told to keep her mouth shut and play the boss.
You know her main job is to become executive to protect the jobs of Barron and the other McClure people. Her word salad announcement shows her inability. Your remarks on how she has grown make little sense, except you want to help McClure and Barron. She is eminently unqualified to manage the county. She is the McClure administration in abstentia, and Barron will run things. At least I have a choice of candidates other than what the Party elite dictate.
Amy Cozze is a classic example of someone who is terrible at her job, but gets promoted anyway. Cozze is incompetent and is out of work because she is a loser.
I think it will be incumbent upon Cozze to explain why she screwed up the 2019 Election.
Apparently Susan Wild is supporting Amy Cozze. Not sure what Tara ever did to Susan, but it seems like an odd thing to do for an elitist loser like Susan to be interfering in a Democratic Primary. Especially if you want to try and mount a comeback.
Cozze has never won an election. Not one. Yet wants to be County Executive? Meanwhile Tara has a ton of county experience and would understand the job from day one. This should be simple for voters.

Then she messes up an election, leaves the county in a bind and then she goes to work for Bob Casey, who gets beat and now she wants to be the boss of the person in the job she could not do.

I have not decided who I will support. I am merely being honest about Zrinski, As Controller, she has been a different person than she was in her beginning years on county council. Yes, she does have an excellent staff, but she recognizes it and has been before Council two or three times to make sure her top auditor, a long-time county employee, is appropriately recognized.
Amy Cozze was not the Registrar in the 2019 election. But she was the leading administration advocate for the Express Vote XL machines used in that race. I think that was the right choice as well.
She has only run in one race. I do not think a person who runs the elections office should be blackmailing the county by resigning just 10 days before an election unless she gets more money. A person like that is putting her own interests ahead of what is best for the county..

Everyone should remember Tara supported BLM over the police. BLM burned down Portland, Oregon and Minneapolis alongside Antifa. This is not the type of person we want running our county. She still has photos on her Facebook page supporting BLM. Plus she has no business skills, just biblical. She can go preach. These two candidates are perfect for the republicans to win.

This has nothing to do with McClure. Like you say, he's out. I simply believe Cozze would be terrible for the following reasons: (1) She is a user. She is friendly to people until she gets what she wants, then drops them. (2) She was going to resign from her post just 10 days before an election in a salary dispute. She put herself over the county's obligation to provide an election. (3) When she finally did resign, she burned the bridges to McClure, making me question whether he campaign is more of a vendetta than anything else. (4) During her time at the courthouse, she was known for an inability to get along with others. This includes her own staff. She'd walk in and just close the door behind her without as much as a "how do you do?" (5) She appears to have an exalted view of her own abilities when the reality is that she is poorly equipped by training or experience to handle the job.

The Zirinski Team Tiara people should not really Bring up Amys family life, job record and other personal background. It is not, like Zirinski wants to get into that discussion. Also, Amy had to endure an administration that spent way too much time involved in nonpartisan election issues. All the truth will come out.

Tara has been all over Northampton County fighting for women for years. I haven't seen Amy Cozze anywhere. I certainly haven't seen her do anything to prove she has the skills needed to be the executive of a county.
It is completely reasonable for independent Democratic women to believe Tara is the candidate with our best interests at heart and support her because we believe she is the most qualified for the job. That's the whole point of elections.

I've done no 180. I am just calling it as I see it. Like it or not, she has been a very good controller. I am as surprised as anyone especially since I have been her most vocal critic. Does this mean I will support her over Cozze? In a heartbeat. Does this mean I will support her over Giovanni? I'd want to learn more from each of them and would probably consider hosting a debate here in Nazareth.
God help this county if any of them win....Maybe Giovanni but hell who knows he doesn't speak. This county needs a lot of help just not elections... The lack of good quality leadership. To hire good quality employees. The lack of transparency in the county. Lamont thinks he saved this county so much money in taxes, but just wait. Thinking CBAs of the future to make up for the lack of employees is gonna hurt this county. Also I believe lawsuits might open people's eyes in the future.

Balonne. Since Zirinski was barely employed if at all or years, she had time to run all over the county campaigning for her next political job. What legislation did she pass for women? What council coalitions did she form? Ziirnski has been an unseen controller for a year. Ms. Cozze has been head of elections and a high staff level administrator for a US senator. SO please stop with th hyperbole. Zirinski is th least qualified person to have ever run for this position. A fulltime campaigner and wants to be a placeholder executive for Mr. Barron.
