He claims more people are working now than ever before. But the most recent jobs report shows that the unemployment rate is at its highest level since the end of his first term. Oops.
He claims he has cut drug prices by 400, 500 and 600%. A 100% cut would mean you are paying zero.
He said gas prices are $1.99 in many states. AAA states no states have gas prices that low. The national average is $2.90.
He's now giving a "warrior dividend" of $1,776 to every soldier from tariff revenue. He's also promised all of us tariff dividends of $2,000. He's also promised me $20,000 for my health care and a $5,000 DOGE check. I 'll keep looking in my mailbox because he wouldn't lie to me, would he?
He claims manufacturing is coming back "at levels we haven/t seen," but the truth is that factory construction has fallen this year.
If his goal was to reassure the American people, he failed. What he did instead was prove Abraham Lincoln's adage that "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Trump is a confidence man who probably still is fooling some of the people all of the time, but he's no longer folling most of us.

Price of gas at name brand stations is $3.29. Thes same stations were $3.01 last fall and were $3.10 in Jan 2025. Whetr is Dave Sunday if gas is $1.99 in most states?

The economy is normalizing now after the Covid shutdowns and excessive Biden spending which caused massive inflation. Trumps biggest mistake was the tariffs. It's caused some pockets of inflation, but democrats have tried it around his neck like a noose.
I didn't watch Trump's address last night, but I do know the New York Times is the last place I'd go for trustworthy statistics. NY Times has a long history of using unnamed sources, and statements made by "sources." Usually, these deceptions are plastered on the front pages, only to be corrected a few days later in a brief statement found near the bottom of Page 47, or something.
I also believe our nation is being strengthened already within this very early stage of economic development and change. No, not a Republican, but an Independent voter.
Democrats have brilliantly found a word, "affordability" and tied it to Trump. It's working. It's crazy, because the states where democrats have fully implemented their agenda are the highest cost of living states in the country. CA, MA, HI, NJ, CT, the top ten cost of living states are supermajority democrat. So go ahead, vote for them and make the country like California. Those states have the highest taxes AND the most fiscal problems. The policies don't work! Democrats are not the answer, unless you like high taxes and high cost of living. Gas is 2 bucks a gallon in Texas. Wholesale gas futures today is 1.68 a gallon, yet here in PA we’re still at 3 bucks!
My posts are not aimed at the cultists, who are not so many as you might think. A large number of these comments come from two or three IPs. There is one person who, like Trump himself, blamed Biden and Democrats for everything that is wrong and unholy. The only exception to that is when this person blames immigrants. I notice that Trump even managed to blame transgenders at one point for the nation's woes.
My posts about Trump are aimed at reasonable people who may have voted for him but have to see that he is an ugly narcissist who preys on our baser instincts. There is no doubt in my mind that the only reason he's there is to enrich himself and his family. And like any good con man, he appeals to our greed.
