A reader with a 100 yo mother has informed me that NorCo's annual luncheon for centenarians has been rescheduled for November 10, 11:30 am, at the Green Pond Country Club. This event had been postponed by Executive Lamont McClure, and he blamed it on the state budget impasse. This in turn led to widespread criticism. County Council President Lori Vargo Heffner suggested that Council could use their contingency fund. Republicans running for County Council offered to pay for it out of their own pockets. It is unclear to me who exactly is paying the small sum needed for this luncheon.

Lamont really looks foolish. Can't run a luncheon. How does he expect to be a congressman?
What Republicans made that fake offer to pay for the luncheon out of their own pocket? They can still contribute i am sure and then County council has to approve "the gift" so that cant happen until after the election, so obviously that line in your stupid story is misleading at best.

What the hell is McClure thinking? Pushing it back might mean a couple more might not be around anymore by the 10th.
Is this his attempt to save a few bucks? Is he taking pointers from Cuomo? How pathetic!
Never cancelled the "Northampton County Festival", a campaign event where he could pound his chest. What a joke !!!
Maybe McClure finally billed the Smith family to pay for the cost of the funeral service.
It’s going to be a particular pleasure to watch Daniel Campo finish behind Nadeem Quyuum.
