Bullet voting is a tactic used in multi-winner races. For example, on Northampton County Council, you may vote for up to five candidates. But let's say you really like one of them. If you vote for that person only, you have effectively given him (or her) five votes.
In smaller areas like the county races, a bullet vote has much more impact.
In this year's County Council race, a concerted effort by Democrats has been made to ensure the defeat of Council President Lori Vargo Heffner. Although she has supported Democratic causes like a responsible contractor ordinance and has advocated for continued human services and higher pay for county employees, she has differed with Executive Lamont McClure on issues like the voluntary employee health center. She has also been bipartisan, even to the point of voting for Republican John Goffredo as Council VP.
In my view, that's no basis for voting her out. That's a basis for keeping her in office We benefit from different points of view in a democratic form of government.
You might also consider a bullet for Dave Holland, a former Gracedale administrator, or Jason Boulette, who also takes a bipartisan approach and is even endorsed by some Republicans.

There is exactly nothing wrong voting for a D if you are a R or vice versa. Voting for the best person is the correct choice.
Any vote for a democrat is a bullet vote for our country right to the heart of our country.
Pure hilarity! LVH isn't bipartisan due to her core governing beliefs. She's appears bipartisan because of her vendetta with and hate for McClure. She has intentionally snubbed Democrats throughout the county behind the scenes. She hangs with Republicans at their events. And her vote for Goffredo for VP of council this year wasn't just a vote for a Republican. It was a vote for an ultra MAGA conspiracy theory extremist.
Lori Vargo Hefner is anti-union. She was not endorsed by the Lehigh Valley Labor Council because of her long and extensive career of anti-union activism. The employees of Northampton County would have their own health center now if not for Lori.
Ridiculous idea based on a false premise. Team voting will rule the day because that's where we are in today's tribal politics. A so-called "bullet vote" (Ds really love bullets, dont they?), surrenders four votes and weakens individuals' franchise. It's a stupid idea.
LVH is so much worse than what your perception of her is. Do you really think that the majority of the Democratic Party is abandoning her for frivolous reasons? Have you ever thought to yourself that you think you know it all but you don’t? She is toxic to the Democratic Party and evidence of that is she is helping and supporting the Republicans win.

At every public appearance, Lori Vargo-Jeffner is at the side of LowT Tom Giovanni. This is not appropriate behavior for the Empress of The Galactic Federation of Democratic Women.
My spouse is a registered democrat. The only democrat she voted for is Lori. She’s finally seeing what I already know, the far left runs the Dems now.
Vote the entire Republican slate. They are running as a team and are everywhere! Giovanni, County Executive , Goffredo, Brown, Elias, Martinez, Campo, Council, Fuller, Court of Common Pleas. There’s no other logical choices to save Northampton County.
You can see it in numerous of Kelly Keegan's TikToks and Facebook posts before she got in trouble, in the way that Keegan and Ken Kraft treat LVH at meetings, in the fact that the unions have run away from her, in the refusal of some organizations like the DemocracyFIRST PAC to support her but to help other Council candidates. She is despised bc she is willing to be friendly with Rs and does not go along 100% with what McClure wants, even though her beliefs are mainstream Dem, i.e. normal. She pushed for a pay study and an evaluation at Gracedale. This is something I would think any mainstream Dem would want. McClure opposed this. Does that make him a Republican? She advocates higher wages for county employees and a revision to the step system. Does this make her an R? Being a Democrat does not mean that you have to support everything McClure wants and nothing else.

that is a poor way to do it also, John Brown is a piece of SH$% and he will never support working people as is evident when he was county executive, he sucked then and he really sucks as a commissioner, as for Goffredo, my god, he picked up his books and left a meeting after berating a contractor for having the audacity to try and build the Dixie project, he is just upset his daddies bird house building company won't get any of the work, not because they merrit the work, but because they can't do the job.
As a canvasser, I can attest to getting her name out every time we are out. If she doesn’t win, it’s because she hasn’t put the work in to win the D side. We didn’t have her lit until last week, but she was still on our handouts!
I'm not sure what the basis is for your claim that the Democrats have made a concerted effort to defeat Lori Vargo Heffner, but it's not accurate.
- She was endorsed by Planned Parenthood.
- Throughout the summer and fall, the county Democrats have had a booth at over a dozen festivals and events. Lori's sign has been at every one of them, and she was personally invited to attend every one of them.
- The county party ordered 10,000 slate cards featuring her along with all the other county and statewide candidates.
- She received money from the Easton Democrats and the county Council of Democratic Women.
- Her signs and literature are being stored at the county Democrats' office.
- Lori was a sponsor of the most recent county Democratic fundraiser and her name was announced as such and she was given the opportunity to speak as a sponsor. The placard listing her as a sponsor is now on display at the county party office.
The county party supports Lori fully. She's been given the exact same support as every other candidate.
Keegan got in trouble? She still has her job, she still is the district coordinator, she just received a salary increase according to the last meeting's agenda, she is in the agenda for tomorrow to receive the coordinator's stipend, she is still on county council, and people praise her for speaking out against Kirk. So what exactly do you mean by trouble?
Which is very little. The "county party" these days, whether R or D, is simply a clique that does little to endorse or elect candidates. Your roles have been absorbed by individuals who can bring resources and boots on the ground, like Lamont or even LV4All. Anyone running for office as a Dem knows that the last thing you can do is count on the county party. And as I previously stated, the individuals who actually are in office as Dems have worked against her. You know this.

I've been to many Saucon Democrats meetings and events. Lori Vargo Heffner is the best choice. She's tried and true, through and through.
I have no interest in having my name associated with unsubstantiated accusations of racism. I disagree with Sgt. Elias's politics but I have no reason to disparage his service as a police officer, and as the son of a 20 year police veteran I feel attacks like that should not be made frivolously.
I'm amazed and somewhat surprised at the idea on only voting for one to hurt the others chances. Thats horrific and something I would never thought of or do. Another example of what is wrong with people.

Not a single thing you just said is accurate. If you want to drop the anonymity and the gossip and have a conversation with me, I'd be happy to talk about how incorrect this is.

Feel free to talk to any of my colleagues on borough council (even the proudly MAGA), and I believe they'll tell you that even when they disagree with me, I study every issue in detail, ask the pertinent questions, and vote how I feel best given the facts of the matter. That's the great thing about our council. We have 4 Republicans and 3 Democrats but we don't get any of the kind of accusations like the ones you're slinging around because we treat each other with respect, listen to one another, and assume a measure of good faith. That's the same approach I intend to bring to county council.
I'm proud to be supported by multiple elected Republicans in Northampton County who have taken the time to get to know me and know that I will focus on our residents and will work to find a middle ground to solve problems.

Again, this is just totally made up. What meetings are you talking about? Because I was never part of any meetings to "oust" Lori, whatever that means. My wife and I both have been and continue to be supportive of Lori's candidacy.
