Yesterday, I told you that GOP candidate Kevin Dellicker, who seeks his party's nomination for the Pa. 7 Congressional seat, submitted a report after the last quarter that failed to list $139,011.75 in expenses. What this means is that the $205,692.08 he claims to have available is actually $66,680.33. That's less than half of what opponent Ryan MacKenzie reported and only slightly more than hopeful Maria Montero. What I also found disturbing is that he paid $106k to Consolidated Mailing and Direct Services Mailing to raise $79k in unitimixed donations.
Dellicker has responded to my criticism with the following:
I saw your post this morning about our campaign finance reports. This is not “phantom cash,” and your conclusions are wrong.
When I decided to run for Congress last summer, my team and I knew we needed a fundraising infrastructure to compete with Susan Wild’s. She raises millions of dollars each cycle from a network of small donors. My campaign had nothing like that, so we set out to build it, and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing. In just six months, we’ve established our own network of thousands of small donors with a median contribution of less than $50. Neither of my primary opponents has any such infrastructure.
As a business owner, I know that sometimes you need to invest money to earn money, and that returns often take time to materialize. My team isn’t just interested in winning the primary. We want to win the general election too. Because of our decision to invest in a small donor operation, I am positioned to compete and win against Susan Wild.

This might be the dumbest explanation I have ever heard in my life. The guy claims he is ready to take on Wild but only has 60 k in the primary. Lol your infrastructure

keep in mind out of that $60,000 he has left $30,000 was loaned to himself. So the guy essentially raised $30,000 of usable funds. His republican opponents are doing far better than him when it comes to actual raised money that can be used.

His $106K was clearly a bad bet. Smart guys don't make stupid bets. I liked Kevin until I read this. Yikes. Maria Maria, this is your moment. The other guy supported dump boxes and completely screwed PA Rs. Your opponents are an incompetent and an a go-along stooge.
Mr. Dellicker continues to impress. I want the best chance to defeat Susan Wild and Mr. Dellicker is that person. I like knowing his team reads here and has the discipline and courage to meet challenges upfront in a mature, intelligent manner.
Delliker keeps insisting he is a small business owner. Has anyone actually seen his tax return? Dellicker has been trying to sell software to schools for $50,000 to improve 3rd grade math. I believe 3rd grade math is the same as it was 100 years ago and his fiends in the teachers union are already being paid well to teach it. Why has no one asked him about his supposed small business?
DaLicker should have never disrespected Brother Steve and the #CORE4, he messed with the baddest hombres in the GOP and they don't cotton to some chair force cadet throwin shade he's toast in the party we will purge his RINO tucchus like it was given an double espresso enema.

I used to like the guy in 2022 but don’t this year.
My prediction is that Ryan Mackenzie will win the primary. I have received 6 good mailers from him and nothing from Kevin or the lady. A lot of voters are talking about Mackenzie. Dellicker seems to be much more damaged this year than in 2022 when Scheller decided to ignore him.
I think Kevin will come second and close if he can get a lot of mail and other stuff out. The girl will come in a distant third.
It’s already obvious from replies posted here, Kevin Dellicker is seen as the greatest threat to the re-election of Susan Wild. The neighborhood bullies have come to throw stones and hide.

I think you are correct on the outcome. If Kevin had the money he said he had on hand in his original campaign finance report then he would already be in voters mailboxes and be on the radio. The fact that there has been nothing in the mail or on the radio (or TV) from Dellicker indicates that he does not have the cash needed to run a competent campaign. It seems like his campaign is only marginally better funded than the Montero trial wreak. Kevin will have some residual carryover form 2022 but I don't think it will be anywhere near what he believes it will be. We'll know more when the next round of reports some out next week (assuming Kevin doesn't fudge his again).

Nope people are just sick of him this time around. They don’t want someone that constantly lies to Republicans.
Dellicker has punted back and forth on a bunch of issues. He says he doesn’t want to be a politician but definitely acts like one and his career has shown that. He has been a government insider for awhile now.
It never fails to amaze me how critical of people bystanders can be. I urge everyone of you to read and reflect on the poem, "IF" by Rudyard Kipling and the ever great speech by Teddy Roosevelt, "The Man in the Arena." Both speak to the character of Kevin Dellicker. From everything I can observe, he has given up a life of leisure that he has built for himself and instead has entered an unforgiving realm where every choice you have ever made and make is put under the microscope. As far as the money goes, so be it. He is right you have to spend money to make money, which always involves some level of risk. And speaking to his own money being invested, rather than being critical of the choice, commend it. It tells me that a man who is not independently wealthy believes enough in his own principles to risk his own well-being. He has more donors than any other candidate, but simply does not have the connections of a career politician and refuses to pander to donors and the party like Maria and Ryan. Kevin repeatedly has stated that he would rather not run for office, but sees himself as the most qualified to do so. I believe him. He has great credentials and far more experience in every relevant field than anyone else running for this seat, Wild included. He is taking a great risk and is receiving the treatment men who take such risks often do: He is criticized by people who will not act on their own and is berated with lies. I am in Kevin's corner.

As far as the money goes, so be it. He said it, it takes money to make money. Regarding his own investment, rather than being critical, I see it as a commitment to the task at hand. If he truly believes he is the best candidate, then I commend the willingness to take a personal risk by a man who is not independently wealthy. It says a lot to what he would do for his country. It is also worth noting that Dellicker does has more individual donors than Ryan or Maria. He get small value donations, and refuses to pander to anyone. Everyone who supports him believes in his message and his ideas. Money will come in time.

Every choice he has made and makes is placed under the microscope by people who are not willing to face the challenge themselves. I commend every candidate on both sides because they are doing something I do not have the courage to do, but I am in Kevin's corner.
Dellicker is unelectable in the general against any democrat because of his self-professed absolute abortion bad with no exceptions. It dosent matter if he tries to back ff from it now. He said it in the past, on record, and that's what the democrats will use against him.
His campaign finance reporting choices were clearly made to secure endorsements he otherwise would not have received. He is a deceitful candidate, and if he somehow got elected he would be a deceitful representative in Congress. You just cannot trust a politician who plays games like that.
Mackenzie does have a lot of mailers going out from Nicki Hailey's PAC. I dont think republicans want the guy who brought us Act 77 to be the nominee though.
That leaves Montero. She's the only one worth the vote because she's the only candidate who can beat Wild. Trump is going to bring in at least 48% of the votes. Montero will EASILLY make up the difference with the support of suburban women and Latino voters.

Dellicker and his team should have endorsed Lisa Scheller and maybe people would support him. Instead he gave us Susan Wild.

This is a ridiculous explanation.
1. Dellicker didn’t just decide to run for Congress in the summer of 2023. He clearly wanted a second chance when he didn’t support Lisa Scheller. Dellicker is not a team player.
2. Dellicker is a business owner and as a business owner, you know that it was going to cost $106,000 to use Consolidated Mailing and Direct Services Mailing to raise money. What you didn’t know was how much money it would actually raise for your campaign. Business people take calculated risks to see if there is a return on their investment all the time. The issue isn’t that Dellicker took a “risk” or tried to establish a small donor network. The issue is he knew that he lost money big-time but instead covered it up and went on the campaign trail claiming to have more cash on hand than his opponents. He misrepresented to get headlines in the newspaper and earn support from people based off of bogus fundraising results.
