Will You Vote for Brooks in the General?

I told you yesterday that I have no intention of voting for Bob Brooks in the Congressional election this year. I will also decline to vote for incumbent Ryan Mackenzie. This happened two years ago. When I learned that Congress member Susan Wild was parking in handicapped spots, she lost my vote. I opted to vote for Lew Shupe instead. But I am far less partisan than some Democrats. I refuse to vote for a person just because he's a member of my tribe. Wha about more partisan Democrats who actually worked Congressional races and helped run campaigns?

Rich Wilkins is such a person. This is what he says on his Apocalypse Vibes blog:

"The guy is a racist, let’s face it, you can’t find a famous black guy he likes (hello Barack Obama and Colin Kaepernick). I want no part in electing this guy. If that costs us the House, maybe the Democratic Party should be better. I’ve said for a long time that I’m not a “vote blue no matter who” type. Well, that’s going to be put to the test here. I broke down and voted for Fetterman at the 11th hour in 2022. I’ve regretted it ever since."

If I'm not mistaken Rich worked for McClure. The McClure people are an interesting bunch. They prefer to go down in the bunker with their leader than help the Party get some leverage on Trump. For McClure it has always been his way or the highway, now his followers show it's him or no one.

Voting "uncommitted" in November; both are MAGA.

Prediction: Both you and Wilkins will find a reason to vote for Brooks in October/November.

Whether it will be “stopping Trump” or something about Mackenzie that’s blown out of proportion, you both will find an excuse to change your tunes when it counts.

It’s who you are, just admit it now and be done with it. I don’t expect a string of follow up articles in the fall reminding us of why we shouldn’t vote for Brooks.

This Independent will NOT be voting for Brooks. I will once again vote for Ryan Mackenzie. Mackenzie has only been in office for less than 2 years. That’s not enough time to completely and fairly evaluate his performance in office. I’m willing to give Congress members 2 terms before I will decide to support him/her again.

I was in a place with Brooks and he didn’t make the effort to meet everyone in the space. He’s a terrible politician. The majority of primary voters didn’t want him. Republicans are worse. I can vote for him once. The stakes are too high. I’m suspecting the congressman are going to dip into that $1776 fund for their loyalty. At this juncture only blind partisanship can beat blind partisanship. Wise up, Bernie.

Fetterman votes with his tribe 91% to 94%, depending on your source. That's earned him the title of Great Satan in his own party. Brooks is too stupid to form independent positions and will do whatever Hakeem Jefferies and AOC and Taiba Salib want him to do, lest he be called the horrible racist he truly is.

Nope!

He compares Fetterman to Brooks? Fetterman is exactly what this country needs. Brooks isn’t that bright, and he’s not a very nice person. He’s morally corrupt.

I have always and will continue to vote the person not the party. I will not vote for Brooks. I didn't vote for Fetterman last time but will the next time.

Liberal progressive backed by communist Bernie Sanders and liberal Josh Shapiro -NO WAy Taxes and the crazy progressives agenda

I've regretted the drivel Wilkins spews since his high school days, which I also was an unwilling witness to.....

Nope I won’t vote for him either

Voted for Crosswell, but I will now vote for Brooks in the general election. The current representative needs to be defeated. Voting for a third-party candidate is, as always, a wasted vote.

I had a by chance view of the back of Bob’s political sign as I was removing a sign for another candidate yesterday. Endorsed by Josh Shapiro and Bernie Sanders. SMH. This guy is scary and the fact that the Democrat party supports this guy supports again why it is not the party my parents inspired me to be part of. My long time Democrat Mom actually voted Republican for her last 2 voting cycles before her death in 2021. Wake up Lehigh Valley. Ryan was not my first choice when he ran in the primary for his now elected office but he truly has positively surprised me. Bob Brooks doesn’t care about you, Lehigh Valley residents.

No way, the guy is a crook!

No, I would've voted for Croswell.

I agree with Rich Wilkins, other than his remarks on Fetterman. I still support Fetterman but my support is waning.

As I wrote a few days ago, Brooks will win the primary and the general election but he will not get my vote. I agree that he is a MAGA racist, cloaked in a pro-union Democrat platform.

I will write-in another hypocritical deplorable grifter instead, Lower Saucon Councilwoman.

The guy is a loser, who tries to be a tough guy on a Harley.

The dems have managed to outdo themselves in stupidity. The Rs will come out in droves to put this two-faced crook in the dustbin of politics. There is more than enough dirt on this pretender to bury him and to male JS look like a fool. JM skates to reelection.

Out of all the Dems, Croswell is the only one who deserved the nomination. Brooks is a crook, McClure was an average, at best Executive, who destroyed morale at the County and is a nasty person. MacKenzie got a gift on election night.

The Dem Party is now a socialist Party, and will keep losing elections as long as they follow the crazy fringe.

Never will support Brooks and enough with all the brag posting about his victory by a few select and photo op needy supporters, he will be a disappointment.

Unfortunately yes. Trump's policies need to be stifled at all costs. Let's just hope he votes with the Democrats though. The House is imperative.

This guy is full of shit- Fetterman votes 90% of the time with the Dems.

Not if he keeps hanging around with Patty Bruno. She couldn’t even figure out how to get on the ballot for County Council and now we have Mr. Taiba.

I will absolutely vote Brooks, which I didn't do in the primary. If you oppose the GOP, refusal to vote for Brooks is just performative nonsense and virtue signaling. A single House member can't do much damage. The most significant vote he will take is for Speaker.

Blah blah. How is it virtue signaling when my ballot is secret? Talk about performative nonsense. I vote for the person, not the party. I refuse to vote for a bad candidate. If both options are bad, I will vote for neither.
