Democratic Moderate Rahm Emanuel Ponders Presidency

According to Politico, Rahm Emmanuel is eyeing the Presidency, He has the credentials. He served under Bill Clinton as his hatchet man, served in Congress, was Mayor of Chicago for two terms and has just returned from serving as Ambassador to Japan.

I watched him on the Honestly podcast with Bari Weiss. He may be just what Democrats need. He believes Democrats have lost their way because they've been caught up with all kinds of collateral issues like trans rights instead of what really bothers Americans. And that, he contends is the breach of an implied covenant that Americans have with their country to ensure that their children will have better lives than they have or that they themselves can expect to succeed with hard work.

He notes that people are angry with our institutions as well, and they should be. From media to health care to our educational systems, they've really let us down. For example, we are facing off against 1.4 billion Chinese, but two-thirds of our population is unable to read at even an eight-grade level.

School boards and angry parents focus on locker rooms and bathrooms when they should be concentrating on the classroom.

But has the Dem party swung too far to the left for a moderate like Emmanuel? NYC Dems just elected a socialist to be their party's standard bearer in the Mayoral race. But Emmanuel points out that Zohran Mamdani ran against two flawed candidates. Moreover, in states like New Jersey and Virginia. it is moderate Democrats who are supported in the race for Governor.

He said the only reason people responded to Mamdani is, not because they are socialist, but because Mamdani actually addressed the real issues bothering New Yorkers. He noted that they, like most Democrats, believe government can be a force for good. But he doubts free buses will be coming any time soon in a city where the trains don't run on time.

In essence, he believes Democrats need to drop the identity politics and return to basics like the American Dream. He thinks we need to stop bullying our allies. And we need to fund programs that actually work.

His biggest flaw is his brusque manner, but Trump has shown that voters can and do overlook that character flaw.

Unlike the DNC chair "big tent" remark, Emmanuel said there's no room in the Dem party for anyway who defends the slogan "Globalize the Intifada." This can be interpreted as an incitement to violent acts against Jews worldwide or as advocacy for international support of Palestinians. But Emmanuel, who is Jewish himself, said no Israeli soldier should be called up for a fourth tour so he can shoot at hungry people. He has no love for Netanyahu.

Obama’s buddy? No thanks. Obama is a large part of the reason we where we are. Good speaker, lousy president.

Rahm Emmanuel, a moderate democrat? This is a joke, right?

From the guy who for weeks on end was a stenographer for the Russia hoax hearing, breathlessly typing each lie, calling Emanuel a "moderate" is hilarious and sad. Any comment on the DNC's own assessment that Hillary is a drugged out, bipolar mess? Unlike the phony hearing testimony, there's documentation of this. But you won't say a word, you cowardly liar. First rule about addicts, is that they must always be assumed to be lying. Wear it well, you bitter old fool. Emanuel is a sissy radical. But you'll sniff his ballet slippers.

Creds are all political. Has the stink of obama and Chicago on him, but he is a lesser evil than harris or newsom.

Ha, same deep state dem, if he can get nominated, you know he is corrupt.

Here’s the problem. 65% of Gen Z think socialism is good. Our educational systems have failed them as they know nothing of history and basics economics. Mandami has tapped into them simply by promising things he can’t deliver.

Democrats have run NYC forever. So along comes Mandami and he promises further left democrat policies to fix the affordability crisis his party created. Crazy!

At this point, both J.D. Vance and Tulsi Gabbard would mop the floor with Rahm Emmanuel. Besides, any direct connections to Obama and/or Chicago, is a huge turn off.

As it turns out, Trump isn’t the danger he was depicted to be. He’s actually been a positive for America. We now know, with strong evidence, our danger was Obama and the treasonous-like actors who supported him, some who still work in our government.

Unless, there is another round of election interference from inside our own government, Democrat candidates will hopefully be kept on the shelf. The battle to save our constitutional Republic from Socialism/Marxism is not over, and won’t be for several more years.

The democrat party has been taken over by radical anti semites. I never thought I would see the day. Emanuel knows it, he’ll try to bring it back to the middle but I don’t think he has the charisma. Plus, he messed up Chicago pretty good lol.

I agree- I have to say, the Hope & Change" President turned out to be a major disappointment. You can thank him for Trump!

A Moderate? You must be back on the wagon again. This guy is a partisan hack, just like his brother. He was a Terrible Mayor, and the Jews can't stand him. Recently, on Megan Kelly's podcast, he hesitated when she asked him, "Can men have Babies?" That's all you need to know.

I guarantee, Gov. Wes Moore will run!

Kids could learn if they weren't concerned with whose in their bathroom at school. Parents have a right to fight that issue.

Thank God I hope and pray there will never be another Trump I hope he’s just an aberration and when he’s done we can get back to normal and sane democracy.

I have little to zero respect for those who engage in "professional" journalism for corporate media. It's an intellectually dishonest trade at best populated by many of diminished intelligence. They are right up there with people who win popularity contests for a living and then "govern" us. They all use words like "our democracy" which is a lie in and of itself. We live in a republic, plain and simple. Our democracy is better stated as "our bureaucracy".

I can honestly say I missed the hoax article in the Morning Gall because I cannot fathom reading such trash for fear of brain rot. I prefer to get my news from independent journalists.

Rahm's been a Clinton stooge for a long time. Was he aware Hillary was mentally ill, heavily sedated, and in terrible physical health? Of course he was. A moderate wouldn't participate in this kind of hyper-partisan coverup.

Bari Weiss is certainly independent. Her Free Press is not Free, but runs on subscription payments and is partially free. That is what I read, lol. A friend recommended her. She wrote, "We're all fascists now," in which she noted an increasing intolerance from the left as well as the right. She is no social justice warrior, but I'd argue she is a liberal who is critical of left-wing extremism.

Pro: credentials and qualifications top Kamala, connections to Obama. Con: doesn't have name recognition, connections to Clintons. Subjective con: too smart and not lunatic enough to be embraced by mainstream Democrat Party of today.

Backpedaling by Democrats is ramping up. Recent revelations about past administrations are not a good look. So, let’s keep moving along as if we really weren’t aware and should now be held harmless.

Stop with the tired bathroom argument. As a teacher, I have not heard one concern from kids or parents regarding bathrooms. I am so sick of the Fox sound bites that are taken as gospel without an ounce of research. Those who feel the education system is failing aren’t completely wrong and I will agree that civics should be taught K-12, but social studies isn’t mandated in PA, so it is the first subject cut in favor of math and reading. If you want improved education, start attending and speaking at school board meetings. Funny, the most important governing body is the school board, yet few attend meetings or even know the members of their respective boards.

As for Rahm, hard pass because he is just another politician without substance and integrity.

9:05 AM - Ahh…for the Good Ole Days, when liberals and the media (but I repeat myself) could accuse Reagan, Bush I, Bush II, et al. of wanting to kill old people, starve young people, and being “literally Hitler” without Republicans fighting back. Damn that Trump guy.

The guy is a Jew the democrats will never approve of him.

Vote Zohran the Moron! Free stuff for all!

I left the Dem party because it’s so extreme today. Apparently enforcing laws is radical right wing policy to them. The majority of Democrats think socialism is good. #walkaway.

So Rahm "You Never Want a Serious Crisis to Go to Waste" Emanuel is now a moderate and the new democrat savior?

This is not a serious proposal, it's the punchline of a joke.

Bernie Bari Weiss is a Fraud and she’s attempting to sell the Free Press for a boatload of money. She’s also not a liberal by any means, she has no defining politics as she is a grifter. I believe she’s apart of that fraud University in Texas that was organized around free speech protection or some other turn key phrase around 2020. She like most in the media have her backers who she writes for. I wouldn’t lend her any more credibility than the other talking heads or podcasters.

You’re way off base. There was a time before Trump when Democrats and Republicans worked together for the good of country. Gerald Ford and Tip O’Neil knew how to work together Ted Kennedy and John McCain and there are other examples. Trump tapped into the hatred and bigotry of the country and we’re more divided than ever before and history will judge him one of the worst Presidents

"She’s also not a liberal by any means,"...only if you're a Marxist

Anonymous said...

My choice would be either Seth Moulten or Andy Beshear and for the Republicans any non MAGA I would prefer Adam Kinzinger

11:34 AM- Yeah, Liberals were real kind to Gerald Ford.

Do I need to look up "borking" and "Mitt Romney never paid any taxes" for you too? You say I'm off base? Dude, you're not even in the stadium parking lot.

Typical campaign rhetoric and politics my point is when it came to governing they worked together for the good of the country.

Don’t know where you get the idea that Shapiro wants to add 2000 dollars in taxes to PA residents as far as I know there’s no call to raise the PIT or sales tax and if you’re retired there’s no PA tax on your pension or social security

There is no longer a Democrat Party- its a Socialist Party!

I think you've fallen off the wagon- he's a political hack, even hated by most Jews.

Let me guess. K-5, Parochial school?

We need to bring back humanity, piety, goodness, fairness, morality and wisdom to the national political stage, along with a touch of the Golden Rule. This starts at the top, and rulers mut rule by example. until we get a ruler with morals nothing will change.
