Brooks has touted his lawn care business in his Congressional race in an attempt to portray himself as an ordinary guy. But according to the Beacon, he cancelled his worker's comp insurance in 2017 and had no insurance for workers who might get injured for four years. Moreover, during that period, his own son was working for him and managing six-man crews.
Pa. law requires worker's comp insurance for all employees, part-time or full-time, family or not.
This is the latest shoe to drop from a flawed candidate who was picked by the national party, not regular voters.
Brooks' opponent in November is incumbent Ryan Mackenzie.
I will be voting for neither.

The PA Platner...
dems will vote for the crook once again proving that they just push buttons as they fail to do due diligence.
What a despicable piece of shit. Selfless volunteers don't deserve to be smeared by a shiftless scumbag who rips off family and doesn't pay his bills. Ask around the Nazareth-area social clubs (many of which are fire companies). They despise that he even breathes our same air and he's quickly become persona non grata. Nice work Shapiro. You really know how to pick 'em.
When is the "deadline" to remove Brooks from the ballot before he loses by 20 points in a race any other Democrat would have won by 20 points? Maine flushed Platner. Can the 7th District flush its turd before ballots are printed?
Ryan still the better choice.
Hold your nose and vote for the person who won't vote to get rid of your healthcare. At this point it's not a contest of morality, it's a contest of "who can do the least damage to our society".
Can we get Armando Moritz-Chapelliquen to run? The people that are making the biggest impact don't run for these seats because of the mudslinging, but we need a good, clean candidate who we can actually support.
I agree with you Bernie. This is the poorest slate of candidates (Primary and General) that we have ever had to consider voting for. I couldn't bring myself to vote for either of these candidates previously and I won't be voting for either one in the fall.
Not great but nowhere near as despicable as that POS.
They know. They just don't care.
What he forgets is the meaning of the word volunteer. Where does he think the extra money will come from if these fire companies go away.
Was this when he was a Republican?
You show em Bernie!! Straight Dem down the line voter.
So true!! The guy is a an asshole!!
Ryan will prevail again. Dems lay an egg. Sad.
I will not be voting in my state house race (Emrick v. Warren) or state senate (Boscola v. Janney) either). There are some good people in or seeking office, both Republican and Democrat, but not where I live.
Just like some pubs will vote for a convicted felon, rapist, grifter, liar, and probable pedophile...and just not care. Guess in our money rules politics system it's a vote for what we consider to be the lesser of 2 evils or nothing.
Armando Moritz-Chapelliquen Is too busy with his DSA buddies
Literally. He’s got the same consultants- Fight Agency. Hand picked, not vetted, and shoved down our throats.
What’s your problem with Boscola. I think she’s been a good senator in a difficult chamber run by Republicans
That is a good topic for a future post.
