Easton's NAACP will host a candidates' night for judicial candidates Nancy Aaroe (Rep.) and Brian Panella (Dem.) on Wednesday, October 25, 6 pm, at the Palmer Library, located within the Palmer Tp Municipal Center off of Route 248.
Both Aaroe and Panella are well-versed in family law. I would be interested in hearing whether they think co-parenting classes are a good idea and whether evaluations from outside experts should be admissible. I'd also like their views on whether a non-lawyer should be running a custody division.
I was unable to schedule s candidates' night in Nazareth because a number of residents complained that they felt unsafe when over 100 people came in from the outside during the previous candidate forum.
The only person they really need to worry about is me.
Why no candidate nights for Controller?
ReplyDeleteNancy Aaroe has 32 years of quality legal experience under her belt. Panella has 6 years, filled with 6 (or 7, I've lost count) part time appointments. That's all I need to know.
ReplyDeleteScared of people coming from the outside? Fellow citizens that share the same county government? What a bunch of nonsense!
ReplyDeleteI agree, but there it is. Fortunately, I was contacted by a friend who provides private security from retired police officers, and he has just offered to do so next time I host an event, so it will return next election.
ReplyDeleteBrian Panella judge? How much experience litigating or as a trial lawyer? Panella is attempting to ride his daddy's gown into a judgeship. How can he in good faith, with little to "no" experience run a courtroom? Nepotism is alive and well in Northampton County. Whatever happened to an attorney experiencing a long and respected legal career before vying for the top spot on the County court? If there is justice (no pun intended) Aaroe will get the job. At the minimum she brings thirty-two years of lawyering experience to the court. Maybe laws need to be enacted determining a required timeframe in the legal business, coupled with trial or courtroom experience before becoming eligible to run for a judgeship, were your rulings in the courtroom could ruin an individuals life.
ReplyDeleteI’m not impressed with either of these choices. Maybe I’ll write-in Terry Houck — now wouldn’t that be fun! These candidate forums need to be held earlier (August🙄) due to mail-in ballots being sent out so early, thus extending election DAY to weeks.
