On Friday, I told you that Easton City Council member Taiba Sultana has been cited three times for code violations at her Easton residence. She was found guilty in one matter and two others are pending. To be fair, I checked all other members of Easton City Council, as well as Mayor Sal Panto, for code violations filed in district court. I also checked all candidates for city council. Other than Sultana, there are no code violations.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Her husband lives there as well. While his name is not on the property he is as responsible for those code violations. They can loan his campaign $40,000, but can't fix code violations. That is an issue and while you have not blasted Nadeem for this it calls into question their fiscal priorities. If he can't keep his own house in order how can he keep the tabs on the county's fiscal house. I'll hold my nose and vote for Tara.
ReplyDeleteI noted he is married to her in a previous post. I agree this is a very bad example by both of them. It's rare from elected officials or people who want to be elected officials. I fo not consider it a matter of poor fiscal priorities, but do consider it a lack of respect for neighbors.
ReplyDeleteNot rare, remember easton councilman Fleck?
DeleteTo be fair, she is a very busy person. Between showing up last minute at community events for Facebook photo ops, and traveling to wherever she needs to be for photos with higher ranking congressional members…when does she really have time to make home improvements?
DeleteThis couple's behavior is exactly what has plagued Easton for decades. She and her spouse are the embodiment of a lack of civic pride and pride of ownership that leads to deteriorating communities. The city would be better served if she moved out of it. Easton doesn't need scummy properties that are not properly maintained by scummy people who think they're above Easton's laws.
ReplyDeleteJust to illustrate many of the point already made, Sultana’s newest social media post is a photo she took today in DC with IIhan Omar.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure this will somehow make South Side a better place to live and attract new business.
