How to Apply For Absentee Ballot
This question was asked in response to my post yesterday, telling you Monday was the last day to register if you wish to vote in November. It's too late to register now, but if you are registered, you can vote by absentee ballot.
Absentee ballots are available to people who are unable to go to their designated polling place on election day. If you are in the military or a bedridden combat vet, you can vote by absentee ballot even if you failed to register.
Absentee ballot applications for the November 5 election must be received by your county election office by 5pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. You can apply for an absentee ballot online or by sending an application to your county office.
Lehigh County Voter Registration Office
Lehigh County Government Center
17 S 7th St
Allentown, PA 18101
Northampton County Voter Registration Office
Northampton County Courthouse
669 Washington St
Easton, PA 18042
Earlier this year, the state legislature passed a bill that expanded absentee ballot deadlines and even provided badly needed money for the new voting machines, but Governor Tom Wolf vetoed it because it also eliminated straight-party voting.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Thank you Bernie! I did not know you could do an online application.
ReplyDeleteSome people actually take note of upcoming primaries and schedule their activities around them. Absentee ballots should be EASILY ACCESSED but limited to major difficulties. Somehow these folks get to their social activities. If you can't plan ahead how much time will you put into researching the issues? Funny how in other parts of the world citizens may travel many miles to vote and sometimes risk violence. Here, if you don't have easy parking or spend more than 15 minutes in line its a disaster. I have at times worked 2 jobs, cared for sick parents and sick husband and still made it to the polls. Its usually just 2 times a year. I won't even discuss getting to a local government meeting once in awhile. You vote these characters in and then never check up on their performance. And don't get me started on the thinking that it is too much to expect voters to handle anything other than straight party ticket buttons. Give me a break.
ReplyDeleteHow do I get a few of these for my many undocumented voters that use dead people's social security numbers?
