$89.39.
That's all that's left of a federal campaign warchest that raised $437,529 in Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski's ill-fated bid to become Pennsylvania's next United States Senator. It seems like only yesterday that he as accepting bribes from Ramzi Haddad. Now he's been reduced to lending his federal campaign another $1,868.75, hopefully out of his own pocket, so that he can pay Oldaker Law Group another $3,368.75.
That's the firm he's been using to straighten out the mess with his campaign finance reports.
So far, he's lent his campaign $23,477.
In other Fed Ed news, sentencing is delayed for the Defendants who have pleaded guilty to political corruption in Allentown.
- Michael Fleck (Fed Ed's campaign manager) will be sentenced February 6 at 3 pm.
- Garrett Strathearn (Allentown's former Business Manager) will be sentenced February 7 at 3 pm.
- Mary Ellen Koval (Allentown's former Controller) will be sentenced February 8 at 3 pm.
- Matt McTish (Fed Ed briber) will be sentenced February 9 at 9 am.
- Ramzi Haddad (Fed Ed briber) will be sentenced February 9 at 3 pm.
- Dale Wiles (former assistant solicitor) had been scheduled for sentencing on January 30, and I suspect a delay there has not made its way to the record.
This postponement suggests action will be taken against Fed Ed by the end of the year or early next year, right around the time he has threatened to run for re-election.

BO, any idea of what Fleck is looking at during sentencing?
I would still take Fed Ed over that lunatic Sam Bennet.
I hope he leaves for prison poor and destitute. Obviously, the investigation is not complete because each time the feds close a door, another two open. It is sad that all those ill-gotten gains, [close to 1/2 million], that he received for his federal and state campaigns, are used for his criminal defense. If he had to spend that amount out of his own pocket, you would have seen a contrite, remorseful and apologetic individual; not a lying, unremorseful and deceitful felon. If he thinks it has been expensive so far, wait until he goes to trial.
Citizens of Allentown, behold, the self-born savior [mayor for life], keeps digging a bigger whole for himself and a lame try at re-election in 2017 looks improbable!
Be wary of any press conferences prior to each's sentencing. R Budd Dwyer
Well, don't forget that Fed Ed has put Walker on the payroll down at City Hall, so he essentially has a defense attorney on staff now.
I would be a great Christmas present for the Allentown if he was arrested indicted in late December,
6:00, I'd say 4-6 years.
Monkey Momma, My impression is that Walker works in other capacities bc his abilities as a lawyer are somewhat lacking.
He won't pull a Budd Dwyer. Fed Ed is apparently still in total denial and thinks he did nothing wrong.
Let's hope not. I'd hate to see him do anything like that. I will fault him, but would never wish for anything like that to happen.
Can the city recover from this .
And find a honest person to be elected .
who ? Will step forward .
The announce canadates have to much baggage
And the corrupt budget is the issue at hand
How much damage can be done ?
That can inspire a good person to run ,
That a Christmas wish
Pease on earth good will toward the city .
All are invited to the budget party at city hall .
What difference does all of this really make?
Ed goes to the slammer, he'll just be replaced by another Democrat
Then the mismanagement and corruption and payoffs will continue.
Allentown is a one-party town. That's just the way it is.
Let the voters decide , if they like corruption
Both side have issues , look at the presidential election
You are saying , no one is honest
12:41 = BINGO.
He was elected and re-elected by huge margins. He'd likely win again if he ran today. He still has plenty of blind defenders. One can cite turnout and the death of democracy in Allentown. But that's been the case for years. There's never any drama in an Allentown election. They richly deserve what they elected. They'll just replace like with like. Sam Bennett? Let that sink in.
For anyone who knows - is it normal for sentencing on loosely related crimes such as these to all happen in such a tight time period? I would assume not...if that's the case, who would coordinate things in this way and why? Is it prosecutors trying to build momentum for future cases (in this case, most likely against Pawlowski) or is it simply a fluke of the system?
Hendricks or O'Connell for Mayor ?????????
They both never were involved in corruption or a PAC???
Hendricks APD for 36 years or so and O'Connell ASD for 38 years or so.
If Pawlowski exits O'Connell becomes Mayor( by being the City Council President) until the next election cycle in 2017.He has a run excellent meetings over the last 2 years as President under very difficult circumstances. He is focused and cares deeply about the city.
Oh I forgot about Guridy???
Guridy is a joke. Every time he opens his mouth his ignorance is more pronounced. Besides he is a Pawlowski puppet.
@Anonymous 6:15 Do I smell shit coming from over the fence from Dent's pitbull?
OH yes please let's elect the folks that supported Nero while Allentown burnt.
Garrett Strathearn (Allentown's former Business Manager) - Tan Mom was actually the Director of Finance.
Hendricks is a handful of gimme and a mouthful of much obliged.
He'll smile and tell you what ever you want to hear.
Bernie,
Can you find out how the secretly unannounced budget netting came across too city council yesterday? Than was it as another incomprehensible PowerPoint sales pitch as is the usual circus when it comes to this issue every year that also has calculations that allways just do not add up!
REpublican redd
Was there an unannounced budget meeting yesterday??
