Osborne Will Continue to Preside in Lehigh County

Brad Osborne was elected Chair and Mike Schware Vice Chair at the reorganization of Lehigh County's Board of Commissioners last night. Newly elected Commissioner Dan Hartzell stated that, when he covered the Board for The Morning Call, there was a tradition of having a Chair and Vice Chair from different parties. He did not mention that, when he covered the Board, those parties were the Democrat-Republican Party and the Federalists. Hartzell nominated Geoff Brace for Vice Chair, but he was rejected along party lines.

When he was Chair, Republican Dean Browning revived that practice. Democrats Dan McCarthy and Bill Hansell served as Vice Chair. But that was before Wayne Woodman became GOP party boss.

Browning later partnered with 4 democrats to give us a 16% tax hike.

Probably not the best point to make.

  4. Dean certainly brought people together. He united his opposition and was quickly shown the door by them.

  5. Now Browning is trying to get on the tea party good side. He is loving every teabagger crazy site on Facebook. The guy is pretending as much as he can to be a right wing whacko. We sill see if it works.
