The Councilperson Formerly Known as Karen Dolan

Karen Dolan, the Bethlehem City Council member who engaged in multiple conflicts of interest to benefit the financially mismanaged Illick's Mill, resigned her position after an Investigating Grand Jury demanded she do so. She still may face criminal sanctions for multiple Ethics Act violations. But if charges are filed, it will be under her new name, too.

After being disgraced by the Grand Jury report, Dolan high-tailed it out of town. She told everyone she was running off to Canada, but only made it as far as Burlington Vermont. She's using a new name, too. Instead of Karen Dolan, she is now K. Dierdre Dolan, both on LinkedIn and Facebook. Dierdre does sound more artsy, and could help her pick up freelancing gigs at Elance. It also will prevent google search users from learning the truth about her, It's dishonest, something I've come to expect from Dolan.

This could confuse even prospective clients into thinking she is journalist Dierdre Dolan.

  1. Good catch, Bernie. Actually, the FB page says her name is KDierdre, not K. Dierdre. That's quite a name.

Sounds like she may have trouble sleeping at night. Too bad.

  2. Can't you please stop destroying these young women. You seem to make a sport of it.

  3. Does she list her experience on council or managing the mill? For honest people such things would be highlighted.

  5. This woman started out trying to do something good for the community. What a shame she got sidetracked the way that she did. She is now gone and out of our lives. Why don't we let her alone and get on with our lives? After being embarrassed and humiliated the way she was (she deserved it might I add) let's not drive a stake in her heart. It's Christmas. Let's forgive and move on. She isn't doing anything worse than the Brown administration and Von Barron Foot en Mouth has forgiven them.

  6. The fact that she is using a different name is something people should know. It casts a spotlight on her character.

  7. This post really does feel petty. I disagree that simply b/c she is using a new name means that the only conclusion we can draw is that she intends to defraud her new community. Your speculation is taking you into the atmosphere, not to mention making you a poor specimen of a person. I agree w/8:36 a.m. She did wrong and has moved on. How do you know what motivates her now? Maybe she is focusing on the positive and trying to create a new start. I don't see how her actions in Bethlehem should follow her around for the rest of her life. If there are criminal charges, she will deal w/the long reaching effects of those, but right now, leave her alone. Let her move on.

  8. I don't really give a shit what some anonymous commenter feels is or is not petty. Changing her name is an indication that she is already being dishonest with prospective employers. It's what I'd expect from her, and it is just more proof that the Grand Jury was correct.

  9. In the lehighvalley cul de sac between here and there and nowhere this type of activities have been going on far to long¿ No matter the political party left or right theft of public monies is a criminal act weather it be a grant gift to familia or a non-profit campaign gift to get back¿

Public monies allocated on paper and than reallocated to a different project than perpose in original paperwork is a criminal act¿ As public officials the actors supposidly are held to a higher standirt of etics¿ Tougher penalties and more jail would be my preference, and not a home rule judge¿

  10. I heard Trish had an extrodinary day. Can you comment on this?

  11. In her mind, she may think so. She withdrew the challenge she had filed to her LTCF denial, and can file again next year. That's something she could have done all along. Had she gone ahead, she would have lost. Now she can do exactly what she could have done to begin with.

  12. "Can't you please stop destroying these young women. You seem to make a sport of it."

This woman is not young, first of all. Secondly, she and she alone destroyed her reputation, just like another old hag who still rents in this area.

You have your facts wrong, again.

That is not the only conclusion, but it is the one that makes perfectly good sense. Why, you ask? Just Google Karen Dolan - lol. Here - I did it for you. Top three hits are stories about her, or I mean "Dierdre".

This is not unlike Tricia Mezzacappa. She's ruined her reputation, all by her lonesome. Perhaps she should change her name to "TPiggy Mezzacappa" when she moves on to a new community. Rumor is she'll need a bus or taxi ride.

Wow - another red letter court appearance for her. So she filed extensive briefs, hired a lawyer. All to settle by withdrawing the application.

I walked backwards last night in order to go forwards. It was extrordinary [sic].

  17. What is the matter with you "men"?
Why can't you leave these young women alone? You get your jollies from attacking these women again and again.

Bernie says he doesn't care about being called petty by an anonymous poster but he sure sounds and acts like he cares in his own petty way.

Haven't you caused enough pain for thee women. Enough is enough.

  18. Which three women, 10:38? Does that count two personalities for Mezzacrappa?

The women you speak of put themselves in the public eye, and then proceeded to screw up big time. If you don't like reading the truth, then don't read it. The rest of the world will hum along fine without you.

Get some glasses. These aren't young women. Mezzacrappa lost a lawsuit Bernie filed against her for defamation, won't pay the damages, and she is 90% of the way to losing a baseless lawsuit she filed against him in retaliation. She's one messed up miserable old woman, and goes out of her way to attack people.

People like this need to be exposed for what they are and stopped, because there is no place for their abusive behavior in elected office.

  19. This name change and relocation game just tells me that she finally realizes she is truly guilty and is ashamed. Honest people don't do stuff like that.

She was the most obnoxious, conceited council member in recent memory, and I'm glad to see her gone.

By the way, that LinkedIn photo has to be 10+ years old. She wasn't even a young woman then.

  23. My first name is Benard and I have always referred to myself as Bernie. Anyone googling me would search under Bernard or Bernie. Dolan has dropped her first name and is now Dierdre. If I did what she is doing I would call myself B Vincent

  24. Jesus would forgive!

  25. Hey, that's kind of snappy - B Vincent. If my name was Justin, and I wanted to hide because I tarnished my own reputation, I'd adopt a new name of JCool.

And I wouldn't consult Jesus, other than to ask for forgiveness for wishing harm on people, making up malicious rumors about them or misusing the public trust. Whatever I did that led to me hiding under an alias.
