Rumormill: Cathy Allen to Resign as Bangor Council Prez

Northampton County Assistant Director of Administration Cathy Allen is also Bangor Borough Council President. She last week told WFMZ that "there's nothing to see here" with respect to a near drowning at Bangor pool. Informed sources tell me she will resign her position as Borough Council President on Monday evening.

  1. And Brown will be announcing that he intends to hire her?

  3. Of course! Thst was the plan all along. Give an unqualified crony a hefty salary to nelp him run the county into the ground.

  4. This is great for Bangor, because they get rid of Allen. Horrible for NorCo, because we get Allen.

Didn't the council trounce this woman's candidacy due her lack of qualifications? Is Brown hell bent on driving us straight to hell?

Half the council appears unaware our reserves have been frittered away, from under their noses. None of this bodes well.

  5. Mrs. Allen is indispensable To JB. He can't function without her by his side. He is the front man..she pulls the strings and makes things happen..for good or bad. Wake up NorCo. This is your new administrative Director. Get used to her as she is here to stay.

  9. I'm glad I missed whatever was obscene and/or disgusting. Just the rumored facts here are enough to make me projectile vomit. I just broke a window!

  10. Won't she still be on Banglr council, just not President?

  11. John Brown is a disappointment. Word is he is planning a massive tax increase. I hope that is not the case.

  12. @3:20PM Common sense would indicate we are in store for a large tax increase. How else are we going to get out of the mess the independent auditor knows we are in, and our officials are currently making believe is one big error?

  13. There are times when you have to raise taxes, though I have no knowledge what is being planned. But that is the smart move. Next year is an election year.

  15. Stepping down as President of boro council is the right choice for her at this time under the circumstances. Lots of things are swirling in the air in Bangor these days. She did some good stuff and some questionable stuff as President. Time to move on is here.

  16. John Brown and his DCED Director has caused nothing but turmoil in the department. Diane D. Is way in over her head and rumor is Brown was to hand everything over to LVEDC. Economic Development in NC is turning into economic destruction. Cathy Allen is bad news and will not help.
