"On behalf of our Lehigh Valley Jewish community, we join with our brothers and sisters across the Jewish world in mourning the tragic and senseless loss of Naftali Fraenkel (16) z"l, Gilad Shaar (16) z"l, and Eyal Yifrach (19) z"l. "We express our deepest condolences to their families and loved ones. There are no words to describe this devastating loss of three young lives. We condemn in the strongest possible terms the terrorists involved in the senseless murder of three innocent teenagers, and pray that justice will be served.
"For the past 18 days since the kidnapping, we were unified in prayer and hope for the teens' safe return. Now, tragically, we are unified in grief. Our hearts are one with the people of Israel as we stand in solidarity with Israel, especially during this difficult time.
"Tomorrow night (Wednesday, July 2nd) at 7:15 PM, the Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley and the Lehigh Valley Jewish Clergy Group will coordinate a community-wide Memorial Service at 7:15 PM at the Jewish Community Center in Allentown.
"We pray that peace may come to Israel and to the entire Middle East for the sake of all who cherish life.
"May the memories of these innocents be a blessing and their families be comforted among the mourners all who mourn."

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
This was a hideous crime . These kids never hurt anyone. Today however was the largest joint military naval operation in history. The U.S.and the Chineses together. I will surmise that this will push the Russians to Iranian and Muslim ventures. The Iranians will produce a BOMB and the Russians will keep them in check. This is getting complicated. Anyway the Israelites will beat up on Hamas and win. God Speed.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a bit premature to say you know who did it and that these boys were completely innocent? After all, Jewish settlers in the occupied territories are a bit notorious for their vandalism and violence toward the native Palestinians. Of course, those certainly aren't grounds for abduction and murder, but at the very least, they WERE trespassing.
ReplyDeleteHad this been Florida and these boys knee-grows instead of Jews, the same people who are so appalled right now would be screaming 'justified under stand your ground'.
This is absolutely terrible. My thoughts and prayers to all affected.
