Cathy Allen Resigning From Bangor Borough Council

It's no longer just a rumor. Northampton County Executive John Brown confirmed at this evening's County Council meeting that Cathy Allen, his Assistant or Deputy Director of Administration, is resigning from Bangor Borough Council on Monday. Brown indicated she is resigning "to commit herself to the County 100%."

Brown made the announcement in response to concerns raised by Council member Lamont McClure. He noted that her "dual roles" bother him, and added her recent Bangor Pool interview, concerning the near drowning of a child, "did not inspire our confidence."

  1. Bangor's loss is Norco's double loss.

  2. She's resigning to dedicate herself 100%? Whoop-dee-whoo

This is reminiscent of the Seinfeld where Jerry and George realize they operate at 50% of the capacity of the average male, and they combine efforts to operate as one person between them.

Allen will earn a nice salary and maybe bring the guys coffee... More of our tax dollars at work.

  3. Didn't many of us see this coming and stated it on this blog?

It was obvious what his plan was when he made her an "Interim."

Brown was going to hire her one way or another.

  4. what a waste of taxpayer dollars! watch her in any interview- she sure as hell does not project competence or confidence. John Brown needs his head examined!!

And what is having 100% of her time to "devote" to NorCo going to accomplish? The ability to be interviewed for an equally poor performance.

Thanks for your service to the people of Bangor. There were accomplishments and set backs during your term as councilperson and as president. Losing Kasten was a tremendous loss for all of us and we are still in recovery mode..searching for what we lost so suddenly. Good luck Cathy and please don't forget us.

  7. Brown still needs some strong county experience and presence in his cabinet.
As of now the confidence level is low, as it would appear the blind is leading the blind.
