Dent: Downed Malaysia Flight "Horrific Crime"

Lehigh Valley Congressman Charlie Dent has released a statement concerning the Malaysia Airlines flight shot down by pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine, a matter that President Obama has called "an outrage of unspeakable proportions".

Dent: "The entire world is reeling in shock and sadness at the sight of a civilian airliner reduced to a field of smoking debris because it had been downed by a missile, likely fired by Russian-backed separatists.

"Citizens from at least nine countries lost their lives in this tragedy, making this attack a horrific crime not against any one country or people, but against the World.

"Americans join the people of the nations affected by this crime in mourning the loss of their citizens. Our hearts reach out to the family members and friends of those who perished.

"This attack should open the World’s eyes to the dangers posed by President Putin’s territorial ambitions and unwanted adventurism. America and Europe should speak with one voice and sanction Putin’s Russia for the role it has played in this attack."

  1. Russian separatists aborted the flight over their airspace. It's the first abortion Chuck's ever opposed! God, he has such a winning smile. Love, love, love him.

  2. Palestinian kids are getting destroyed just sitting on a beach. Some invasion.

  3. Russian/Ukraine, Israel/Palestinians, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Afghanistan .... there are a lot of newer fires burning in the world that most Americans have been willfully and comfortably detached from. Which, if any, will blow up and force the general public to deal with beyond a few minutes on the evening news? The last president I really have felt was personally smart about foreign policy was GHWBush. He had real FP experience and a "realpolitik"-type NSC advisor in Scowcroft. Part of me is concerned, regardless if a Republican or Clinton is elected, of the post-Obama pendulum swinging back too far toward a neo-con hawkish policy.

  4. "the post-Obama pendulum swinging back' too far toward a neo-con hawkish policy"... the pendulum under Obama being a too detached and seemingly always reacting to the crisis du jour.

  5. The baggers are right, Obama should invade Russia. What a bunch of maroons!

  6. Let the Soviets fight their Civil War, Mr. Dent.

Now, do something about our Illegal Alien problem that does not involve spending billions of dollars.

  7. "Invading Russia" is a typical Obama lackey straw man. They set up an extreme option that nobody is suggesting and think it makes President Mom Jeans look presidential. He voted "present" on every major bill while in the Senate for his few months. He's voting "present" now while focused on fund raising for his presidential library, something he's done within 24 hours of every major incident during his increasingly unpopular reign. President Throws Like A Girl makes Jimmy Carter look like Winston Churchill.

  8. A commercial jet liner flying over a well known war zone. Really? Not saying these poor souls deserved this but Malyasian airlines was certainly asleep behind the wheel. This is not an American issue. Russia is not the middle east, if anyone wants to take bets... I am in. NOTHING will be done by the international community on this one. There will be no military invasion by a coalition of some sort. All the bully pullpit western style guilt shaming diatribe will not work with Putin and his ilk. PS: If anyone in the west messes with Russia, remember China is sitting there waiting to help! Sorry, the world sucks and people die and in some cases there is no "justice", this is one of them.

  10. anon 7:45 is the typical double blind by the teabaggers. The level of hatred they have for this African American president is without equal. Maybe it is because he lives in the "White House". Or is it because he didn't let over 200 marines get blown up like Ronnie Raygun? Who knows what lurks in their dark minds.

Munch on that reality you cute little 'straw dog' you.

  11. Don, as one example of many, MGen. Frank McKenzie did a CSIS Q&A in Oct '13 and made the same statements that the Marines are not in the business of conducting opposed beach landings.Must involve He also stated that the best way the Marines could fit into the AirSea Battle concept was as an expeditionary air force.

The first race bomb is always thrown by the left. They formed and nurtured the KKK. They violently opposed the Civil Rights Act. They, like Al Sharpton, continue to attempt to incite using race. Scratch a liberal and you very quickly reveal a racist. History repeats and repeats.

  13. anon 6:48, gets his history form Fox, so don't hold it against him. What was the "Southern Strategy" again??
The race bomb is a Republican Party plank so it is hard to "throw it out" when it is part of everyday policy.

    Brown children, brown president=bad mojo.
