Who's On the Ballot?

Yesterday was the last day for filing nomination petitions. Today, I will find out who has filed for NorCo Exec, County Council and the Easton DJ race. If time permits, I will look at the other races.

  1. No offense to the Mayor of Bangor, but as a Republican, I am writing in the name of one Ron Angle. The rest of you Republicans, please join me in doing the same.

  2. anon 1:02, thank you. The Democrats would much prefer to run against Ron Angle. With his record and all time personal negatives, you will be handing the county to the Democrats,.

Again, thank you for your help. I do sincerely wish you luck.

Republicans, Please write in Ron Angle!

  9. Rs will not be a factor in council races. Brown's a sacrificial lamb with explaining to do about the trip he took on taxpayer money to see his kid. The county party is accommodating a lunatic and racist who said the opening prayer at a recent meeting. One of their ilk called a judicial candidate "that Sletvold woman" and derided Slate Belt Rs as a "book club." The county committee is keeping all members on the reservation - a pathetically small and shrinking reservation.

  10. The R's have some individuals that would be effective candidates but stayed out of the fray. Why, if Peg F is their standard bearer there in lies the problem. Nothing new.

What the R's need to do is PRAY the D's assasinate each other in the primary and knock Callahan out because of his audits, vehicle accident & womanizing. Can't wait for the first time he indicated he wants to do for the county what he did for Bethlehem.

Reidman already tried to ruin the County. It will take longer to recover from a Callahan administration. Debt, Debt, Deb

  11. Callahan is going to walk to victory, despite his numerous, serious scandals. He's turned watchdogs like Bernie into lapdogs who write puff pieces and love to get their bellies rubbed and get to hang out with decent company. It may also be a little of the old an-enemy-of-my-enemy-is-a-friend-of-mine. Bernie's dislike of Reibman and McClure is well known. If he didn't come to heel for Callahan, he'd be completely on the outside looking in after enjoying the view during the Stoffa years. Ego in lieu of ethics. It's not the first time.

  12. For Callahan it may be, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

  13. It takes a lot of money to win in the Allentown council race. Given the odds, it's a bad bet in the city for an R.

The city turned down Dr. Lovett and elected Roy Afflerbach. He (with help from a couple councilmen) cost the city over $150 million.

But, with many city straight line party voters, it's almost hopeless.

  15. The phone polls have started in Bethlehem.

  16. To anon 8:50: I didn't know neatness counts.

  17. Also Anon 8:50, Have you seen most petitions?

Some Dems are still gunning for Dolan ever since she accused Joe Long and his goons (some of them still have power) of unethical actions, cronyism, and withholding important information from Dem candidates who refused to "play" politics like a game.

Dolan's popular. Any Dem dumb enough to challenge her on ethics (or neatness) is a stupid old fool.

  18. If McClure wins I am moving to Canada and becoming a citizen.

  19. to anon 12:25, we will help you pack. Take Johnny Casino with you.

  20. Isn't the Casino a good thing? If it wasn't there what would be? All of that development over there is unreal. I've went to the Levit Pavilian area a few times last summer and couldn't believe what they did there.
