I forget the name of the famous lawyer who said it, but he said NC was the best place to commit a murder. It's not that you'd get away with it. But historically, NC juries have been very reluctant to impose the death penalty.
It's in the water, Bernie. I know I gave up my career as a cereal killer when I moved to NC.
