Zrinski Declines to Specify Race, Religion or Gender Identity of Human Relations Comm'n Members

During yesterday's NorCo Council Personnel Committee hearing, attended by five Council members*, a list of 13 nominations for the newly established Human Relations Commission was considered. Since I can only go by phonetic spelling of some of these hopefuls, I'll forego naming them until tomorrow. Things were going smoothly until member Nadeem Qayyum decided he had some questions.

Qayyum, who has a very annoying habit of refusing to use his mike, decided he wanted to know how many of these selections are persons of color and wanted to know details like religion, etc.

Zrinski, who is increasingly getting irritated by questions that Qayyum has written out in advance because his English skills are so subpar, said she declines "to specifically identify who is ... who is a person of color, who is Muslim, who is gay, who's trans. I am supposed to identify those individuals on this list? I would think that that is almost discriminatory."

I'd say it is definitely discriminatory.

"For the record, I need to ask these questions," explained Qayyum.

"Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure sure," responded Zrinski. "For the record, I'm not going to specifically identify people."

In the desire to be inclusive, we often make the mistake of being exclusive.

Necessary corrections on errata:
"...questions written out by his wife in advance."
"For the record, I must ask these questions because my wife told me to."

Kudos to the Commissar on her reaction.

I'm inclined to agree.

The whole idea and all involved are discriminatory. Checking boxes is discriminatory, by definition and design. Hate won't go away because government officials keep checking boxes. Promoting division is sinful and unpatriotic. Yet, they continue to do so. Disgusting and depressing.

Surprised Kelly K didn't ask how many were MAGA

Seems like he’s there just to be an obstructionist. What a shame.

“I am supposed to identify those individuals on this list? I would think that that is almost discriminatory.”

This statement is hilarious.

The whole point of the Human Relations Commission is to discriminate and to stack the deck in favor of politically-favored minority groups in exchange for votes, while undermining the impartial system already in place under the federal and state constitutions - the judicial system.

For Zrinski to act like the information requested is unknown or unimportant to her is the most egregious example of gaslighting possible, at least for county government.

This is what these incompetent people spend their time on!

Both funny and accurate!

And Happy Birthday Bernie! Hope you have a great one.

In the Left's attempt to be more 'inclusive' it has reverted policy back to pre-Civil Rights era thinking.

Will the new Human Relations group have any real power?

I believe the HRC is intended to prevent, not cause discriminatory behavior and practices.

Yes, it can impose fines that can be appealed and are subject to judicial review.

Soon the political teutonic plates of the entire LV will shift as the Crown Prince Ed and Princess Lisa return from exile with His Eminence Cardinal Jennings in the retinue.
This will be a clash of cultures as pre-woke Identity Politics ideology confronts High Wokeness. The PR Department of the tattooed globe trotting Mayor PeeWee weren’t in high school yet when this cabal was sent into exile and the whole pronoun gender thing wasn’t a thing.
Cardinal Jennings will insist on the compensate amount of attention for the unfolding proceedings, Praise Jesus, as survivors of the exiled administration scramble to rewrite their personal involvement, deny, prevaricate and flat out lie concerning that unfortunate time in the history of the once All American City.

We already have a system for that, and it’s called the court system. The HRC is there to put a thumb on the scales of justice, and taint the presumption of innocence prior to someone actually getting their day in court.

As much as I hate to agree with Qayyum, the public has an absolute right to know the backgrounds and biases of these unelected appointees who are being given the ability to impose penalties on others by county government.

I agree. We have fiscal problems and Gracedale is circling the drain. This HRC seems like a solution looking for a problem.

This post is parody, right? We can't possibly be this woke and stupid.
