Siegel Definitely Running For LeHi Co Exec

Earlier this month, I told you that State Rep. Josh Siegel intended to run for county exec in Lehigh. He's relying heavily on support (and lots of money) from the trade unions, but you'll see nothing from firefighters or police, whom he alienated during his brief tenure as a member of Allentown City Council. According to Lehigh Valley News, he's now made it official. That's no surprise, but I am disappointed to see that he already has the backing of incumbent Phil Armstrong. He knows better. Siegel is a carbon copy of Controller Mark Pinsley, who stands for partisanship and divisiveness.

Lehigh County at one time was more Republican than NorCo, but that has changed. Unless a decent Democrat or a viable Republican announces, he's going to win on a platform of walkability and amenities. Translation: build, build, build.

  1. Oh, come on BO, He stands for Partisanship and divisiveness??? That describes McClure to a 'T' and you adore the guy.

  2. “… but I am disappointed to see that he already has the backing of incumbent Phil Armstrong.”

    Why are you disappointed?

Did you fall for Armstrong’s phony “kind grandpa” act that he uses to cover his partisan hack core?

Honestly, it’s getting hard to tell if you’re just trying to pull another one over on us or if you’re just that gullible.

  3. This is a done deal. Republicans have no shot. MAGA only votes when Trump is on the ballot and Lehigh was one of the few counties that voted for Harris.

    1. Poor Vlad just can't get over his own perception of the meaning for defund the police.

    2. 4:13 - I’d say people know exactly what “defund the police” means, as evidenced by the last election.

They’ll also understand Siegel’s attempt to impose a new, regressive sales tax on struggling Lehigh County residents at the start of the covid lockdown.

  5. You need a better CI if you didn’t know Phil Armstrong was backing him. Siegel, Armstrong and former Whitehall mayor and current LC Director of Administration are as thick as thieves.
