NorCo Council Race Update:

In late November, I told you that the terms of five at-large seats on NorCo Council will expire at the end of next year. Those five members are elected countywide as opposed to a specific geographic area. The five current at-large members are Council President Lori Vargo Heffner, VP Ron Heckman, John Brown, John Goffredo and Jeff Corpora. None has announced plans to seek another term. If they do, they'll have company. Those who are interested in seeking a position include Nadeem Qayyum (announced), Tom Gilmour (Facebook page), Patti Bruno, Leslie Altieri, Wind Gap Borough Council member Jason Boulette (announced) and union leader Paul Anthony.

"If Lori runs for council - I will challenge her. You can quote that," says Patti Bruno, who in 2021 finished 7th of 10 candidates for 5 seats. Lori Vargo Heffner finished 2d.

  1. No real surprises here. These people have been pitching their names for months. Thye hope to be like the three rubber stamps for McClure. In fact, they have admitted as such, and McClure wants them so he can eliminate the pesky people who question him and do not just praise. A few need to clean themselves up and delete their digital trail. Talk about nuttiness.
Bruno is the funny one. For someone who has never won anything, she is the best of the bunch, just ask her. lol

    1. @1:43 Goffredo, Brown, Corpora, and Gio are all Lori's rubber stamps AND they obstruct anything good for Northampton County. Get rid of Lori and her flying monkeys so Council can get something done for once.

    2. When talking about rubber stamps, don’t forget Lori’s rubber stamps: Goffredo, Brown, Giovanni and Corpora. They are the pure definition of rubber stamps. Sad that is ridiculous blog never treats them as such.

  2. Who the hell is Nadeem Qyayum? Sounds like someone from Saudi Arabia. Do we even know if he/she/it is a US citizen?

    1. 1:53, Qayyum is an American citizen originally from Pakistan. He is EASTON CITY COUNCIL member Taiba Sultana's life partner or husband. He ran for controller and was defeated in the primary. He also ran for MDJ and was defeated in the primary. He seems to be less of a narcissist than Sultana is.

    2. He does seem to be less narcissistic than Sultana. But not nearly as racist or retarded as Anonymous 1:53.

  5. In cinema, there's the Land of Misfit Toys. In Northampton County, we appear to have the Land of Misfit Council Candidates.

  7. BO'H talks out both sides of his mouth. On the left side, he agrees with McClure's ideas, on the right, he's all drama. Just like the GOP.

  8. Paul is a big-time union boss so he will be well funded. The others are a rogue gallery of McClures'. If the republicans can find warm bodies, they will do well. These are the dem's that will unseat the incumbents? Ok then.

    1. Paul isn’t running. He’s busy making sure Lori loses.

  9. No wonder dems have lost elections. This woman is going to challenge an incumbent in a multi-candidate race. Stop it, Bernie. Maybe Harris can endorse her. Don't dem women support each other?? Is that just a campaign slogan. Too bad the dens have given up in common sense with their people now.

    1. Dems do support each other. Except if you're Lori Vargo Heffner. She obstructs them.

    2. Vargo Heffner opposed Tara in both her Controller Primary and General Electioms. Lori’s a hater.

  10. The most sensible and knowledgeable member of council is Ron Heckman. He has my vote should he choose to run. If not I wish him well and happy healthy retirement

  11. Looks like the qualifications for Council are as base as just having a pulse. Someone explain that Northampton County is governed by a council and not a faux commissioner form of government, and then have them define what a Home Rule Charter is…

  12. Executive runs and government the county. Council must approve.
