Easton Council Member Sultana Home Liened, For Sale and May Be Vacant

Controversial Easton City Council member Taiba Sultana, who represents the south side, is making a move. It's not to announce her plan to seek re-election, as some have thought. Nor is it to announce a run for County Council, as others have claimed. Instead, it's a literal move. Her home on Vista Drive is up for sale (she's asking for $269,900). There was an open house yesterday, and it appears that the property is vacant.

Last week, there were complaints on social media about all kinds of garbage on her property. She responded that she was remodeling, but it appears she was gutting her home in anticipation of moving somewhere else.

This property is currently the subject of two municipal liens filed by the City. One claim was filed 4/18/24 for $922.24 (2024-ML-3404). A second was filed 6/10/24 for $1,593.63 (2024-ML-5167).

Under the City's Home Rule Charter, she must be a resident of the south side during her term of office. If she resides somewhere else, she must resign. If she refuses, a quo warranto action can be filed by the District Attorney or his designee to remove her.

  1. Great investigative work, BO. Quick question. Shouldn’t this dwelling be on some sort of historical registry considering who had occupied it and the filming of the infamous videos of their interactions with law enforcement? One only can guess where they are moving. Perhaps, Washington where she’s ready to step in to assist Kamala, if Walz were to falter?

  2. As much as I dislike Sultana, people move. There are also plenty of houses available on the SS and she may even want to live among the people in public housing. My experience with her has only been negative, but I highly doubt she is going anywhere. (P.S. The esteemed DA isn’t going to take initiative concerning her. He only hassles his employees.)

  6. Mayor Panto lives on South Side. Perhaps Mayor Sal could let Council woman Sultana live in his basement for a while. She would probably have to use a Porta pottie outside though since she and her family are mere commoners.

  8. How do you leave a path of destruction everywhere you go? YOU will point the finger at EVERYONE else, yet YOU are the common denominator in every situation. YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK. GOODBYE!!!

    1. Nobody has to do anything to her. She has done nothing but embarrass the City and the community that elected her. She won’t win for dog catcher in easton

    2. Obviously you have never dealt with her in any capacity. Consider yourself lucky.

  10. 5:14 p.m.: Plenty of people go through terrible times and suffer financial problems. In fact, I am not immune to either. The difference? I don't go around claiming discrimination, beating my kids, creating chaos on Council, etc. According to her website, Ms. Sultana has a lot of potential, but until she begins to shoulder responsibility for her own problems, rather than blame everyone else, she will not improve herself as a person. The truly pitiful thing is that her children are learning from her example.

  11. I heard Elon was giving money away. Maybe she should have taken advantage of his generosity.
