Daughter Follows Mother's Footsteps

Imman Malik must be following the bad example set by her mother. Last summer, Easton City Council member Taiba Sultana was arrested and charged with the domestic assault of her own adult son. She was eventually placed on ARD, a special program for first offenders, but insisted on blaming everyone but herself for her legal woes. Now, It's her daughter's turn.

When Sultana ran for State Rep. against Bob Freeman earlier this year, she was very upset to see that immigration attorney Ray Lahoud bought and posted campaign signs that were highly critical of her. Lahoud, as an American citizen, has every under our Constitution right to criticize her. That's how American democracy works.

Sultana of course complained on social media that someone had dared criticize her, and as she did that, the signs began to disappear. Most were gone within a matter of hours.

What happened is that two of her children (both minors) were nabbed by Pennsylvania State Police as they spray-painted the anti-Sultana signs. Waiting for them in a nearby car was 19-year-old Imman Malik, who is also Sultana's daughter. In a Morning Call account, Sultana amazingly contended that her children had the right to deface political signs and that she was being targeted as a progressive and a minority. Her children actually released a statement claiming the signs were defamatory and that Easton police should have removed them.

Of course, Malik was charged with two counts of corrupting the morals of minors. After a preliminary hearing yesterday, the matter was bound over for court. Her formal arraignment is scheduled for September 5, 1 pm, in Courtroom 1.

  1. A Great example! Despite others sacrificing their morality for power and money, Sultana's daughter stood up to corrupt and immoral nig***s. Many people, including yourself, may have insulted their own mothers by using derogatory language, so you wouldn't understand the strong emotional bond within the family.
Her daughter didn't commit any crime; she simply did what was morally right.
I admire this family for their courage in standing up to those who try to bring them down.
Ray should face consequences for spreading lies about her. It is not a constitutional right to falsely label someone as a criminal.
He should be sued for libel.

    1. Stealing and defacing signs is absolutely a crime.
But you should think again about accusing Ray of using defamatory language while making statements like you did in this comment. Asterisks do not make your comments ok.

    2. 120am: the laws are not defined by morality, but by the laws themselves. Don’t interject mortality into this. We have a separation of church and state. Also, if you want to talk about morals..:how about how so many Muslim countries treat their minority populations … and women?

    3. So, if a law permits murder, does that make murder acceptable? Sounding like a savage.

  3. It can't be easy, being one of Taiba Sultanas children. Hopefully this young woman can get past all the toxicity she's suffered over the years and become a responsible citizen.

  5. Imman is following in the footsteps of John Lewis by getting into "good trouble", when someone viciously attacks your beloved matriarch with humiliation tactics in the form of a defamatory sign all options are on the table.

these charges will be dropped, inshallah!

    Crazy. (true)
    Chaotic. (true)
    Criminal. (true)

True statements and subjective opinions (like calling someone a loser or a jackass) are not defamation. Maybe we should teach that in school.

I can't wait to see the comments from her troll army.

    1. It’s not new for people of color especially women to be called “crazy” or big mouth. But she is not a “criminal”. Prove us or accept you are a bigot.

    2. People that do not commit crimes are not in the ARD program. To get in ARD you had to have committed a crime, even a “small one”. That makes her a criminal

  10. Another racist attack by an old white male. Attacking her children just cross the line. Why not just put the hood on and dance around the burning cross already.

To be true in her mother's mold, does she give a mean headbutt?

  14. Bernie, what exactly did the sign posted by Lahoud say about Sultana?

  15. Taiba is possibly the worst elected to ever hold office in the Lehigh Valley. Am I wrong?

    Crazy, Chaotic, Criminal.

It doesn't really matter what it says bc it is protected speech under the First Amendment. If she feels that it defamed her, she could sue, but would lose.

I saw the signs. I don't think "big mouth" would not have fit. I'm not in a financial position to have signs made, but maybe someone reading this blog is. On their behalf, thanks for the suggestion.

Well, let's see. Former Mayor FedEd from Allentown; another criminal. Then you have C(lueless) C(razy) Gerlach on Allentown City Council; yet another criminal and a dope. Then we have nitwits like Josh Siegel and Mark Pinsley; another dynamic duo of dopes. Taiba does have some competition.

    I stand corrected.

  19. Borderline Personality Disorder isn't genetic, but it is inherited. To anyone paying attention, it's obvious Ms. Sultana is a sufferer. It is likely at least some of her children will be as well.

  20. Use of the N word is always unacceptable, but using it in this context (as seen in the above comment) is clearly crazy and chaotic, among other things.
