Sultana Nomination Petition Includes What Appears to Be Forged Signature of State Senator Lisa Boscola

State house candidate Taiba Sultana's nomination petition, which you can view yourself at the DOS website, is questionable.

Pn Page 25 Side 1, Lisa Boscola "signed" the petition. Boscola lives in Bethlehem Township and is not in HD-136. Moreover, the address listed on the petition is not Boscola's (as far as I can tell it doesn't exist at all ). It looks like a forged signature of a sitting State Senator, which is a huge deal in my mind. On this same page, Taiba signed off on the petition but she had already signed off on her petition on page 16.

Sultana's husband, Nadeem signed off as the circulator on this page 25 petition.

Further, Page 31 and the second of two pages numbered 25 are obvious duplicates of each other, so at least one of the pages is definitely a photo copy. However, the circulator signatures (again Nadeem's) do NOT match exactly. Someone appears to have knowingly signed off on a photo copy of petitions.

Ifyou see problems like this with any of the nomination petitions, feel free to share them here. One of my readers alerted me to the problems with Sultana's petition, but asked to remain anonymous.

Did I also see signatures from Helmut Kohl and Francois Mitterrand? What a mess. My signature is legit, though.

  2. I’m not a handwriting expert, but I’m assuming any irregularities will be challenged by her opponent, particularly if she’s tight on the number of legitimate signatures.

Other than that, I don’t know that I can fault her if a signature is fake. People often collect signatures outside diners, grocery stores or other places where there are large groups of people. They don’t ask for ID and rely on the honesty of the signer to put you down the correct information.

A forged signature of a sitting state senator (assuming it is forged) could easily be the result of a prank by someone signing as it is an illegal act on her campaign’s part.

So without additional information I don’t think it’s fair to throw blame at the candidate on this one. I’m certain she will give us enough other reasons for blame in the future.

    1. Whoever signed this put a lot of effort into making it look like Senator Boscola's signature. The signature part of her first name is in her logo and this matched that very closely. This wasn't some joker at a grocery store; this was someone actively trying to sign like her, and the candidate's husband signed as the circulator.
Whether or not Taiba knew about it, circulators serve jail time for forging signatures on petitions and Nadeem was the circulator on this.

    3. By signing the back of the petitions , the circulator acknowledges the authenticity of each signature as it is their job to see that the regulations are upheld. Petition carriers don’t get off the hook for sloppiness or looking the other way.

  3. 7:48, I am not a handwriting expert either, but Boscola does not even live in that district and is not going to sign a petition outside of where she lives. It certainly is a prank, but it also is certainly a forgery. It is certainly an illegal act on the part of her circulator, who has the responsibility of making sure the petition is signed correctly. Whether it is stupidity or an attempt to deceive is another question, but the signature is definitely invalid.

Her husband circulated that petition. He has run for office twice and has helped her in three races before this one. He submitted an unsworn verification that, to the best of his knowledge and belief, the persons who signed that petition are qualified voters, that their residences are correctly stated. He accepted a signature from someone in Bethlehem and who obviously is NOT Lisa Boscola. He also submitted a page of duplicate signatures. Sultana signed this petition twice and I've just been informed that she may have done so three times. It seems to me that she and her campaign can be blamed. I don't know whether there is an intent to deceive, but there certainly is blatant disregard for the law. The fact that a page of duplicate signatures was submitted supports the theory that there is an intention to deceive.

Ponting out these issues is neither racist nor "retarted." You gotta' stop playing that card because it is getting old. Also, while calling people racist, you are at the same time demeaning people who are mentally challenged.

Frank Pintabone did circulate for Bob Freeman because he supports him. He did so and not as a campaign manager or someone who is paid per signature. He did so as an American citizen exercising his First Amendment rights, the same First Amendment that gives you and Sultana the right to call people racist, "retarted" and sexist without any basis in reality while at the same time making racist remarks like "little white boy." Pintabone is not managing Freeman's campaign.

The simple reality is that Sukltana signed her nomination petition with three signatures from herself, submitted the obviously forged signature of a sitting state senator, and submitted duplicate signatures in petitions circulated by her husband.

    3. I’m not surprised to see women, people of color, or even young people supporting and voting for Freeman. I see quite a few community leaders on his petitions from not-for-profits, the business community, and voters in different age groups. Why? Because Freeman has done a lot of good for this area and works hard to bring funding back to our community. What has Sultana done besides push resolutions that don’t relate to Easton and divisiveness to council (pet shop bans when no pet shops exist in the city, international relations where the city has no authority, the blame game).

While I personally side with her opinion on the ceasefire, I am disgusted that she continues to waste council’s time with a ceasefire resolution again and again. Would love to see her do work in the city. Then we can talk about higher levels of office. This isn’t a game. This is a serious job.

In case you haven't noticed while out photobombing, I have been an equal opportunity offender. I point out the flaws in politicos of all makes and sizes. Doesn't matter if they are male, female, bipoc, trans, white, black, Christian, Jew, Democrat or Republican. I hate political opportunism. I dislike it it Mark Pinsley, I dislike it in Tara Zrinski. And I dislike it in Sultana. The most recent subjects of my criticism have been Ken Kraft and Lamont McClure, both of whom are Democrats and white males. I have been highly critical of Panto at times. But being female, Muslim or a Pakistani immigrant does not make you immune from criticism. If someone engages in demagoguery, as Sultan does, I will call it out. If someone plays games with nomination petitions, and the circulator is experienced, I will call it out.

But I am old. While calling people racist and "retarted," Sultana thinks it's OK to demean the elderly. Since a large portion of the voting public fits that category, I appreciate you telling them they don't need to vote for you.

    1. She runs for literally everything, and she forces her husband to do the same, so they both should know how the petition process works by now.

    2. She forces her way into photo ops with every democratic political member she can, so they should know what Lisa Boscola looks like and where she lives.

    3. She said it was a "typical and fixable oversight". I highly doubt this is a typical issue with Freeman, and if a signature is deemed ineligible, it's stricken from the petition with no chance of correction, which is the actual opposite of 'fixable'.

Finally, even if she still has the required number of signatures after all the duplicates, forgeries, and photocopied sheets are stricken, this kind of perjury should be considered a disqualifying act. The level of chicanery here is closer to George Santos than it is to Kerry Myers' "Jesus take the wheel" technique to signature gathering. Though, it would be funnier if she still got on the ballot, because she would finally be running against someone with enough campaign money and manpower to skewer her 20 different ways in the media just for sport.

  48. I cannot for the life of me understand defending Ms. Sultana for submitting a KNOWN forgery of a signature of a well-known Senior Senator on A LEGAL STATE DOCUMENT! That rises to Trump-level BS. CHOOSING to ignore illegal and unethical acts on legal, official government paperwork as if it's "not that big of a deal"

First, I find it absolutely impossible to believe that her husband didn't know that wasn't Lisa Boscola standing in front of him signing that petition. 2nd, what's with the address not even in the district?

Did her husband not actually gather the signatures he certified? If so, THAT IS ANOTHER FRAUD!

Did the Candidate and her team not at the very least review the pages submitted? If so, why not cross out a clearly forged signature on a legal document. If she didn't, why not? She signed a notarized affidavit that the petitions were true and correct to the best of her knowledge. That requires the candidate to do at least a spot review.

COUNCILWOMAN Sultana's comments and lack of accountability regarding this is unbecoming a Candidate, Elected official, and ethical citizen. The ONLY appropriate statement in response to this would have been to accept accountability and apologize. Instead, she finds it appropriate and ethical to launch a vicious political and personal attack towards the person whose name was FORGED ON A LEGAL STATE BALLOT DOCUMENT!

SENATOR LISA BOSCOLA has every legal, and ethical right to be upset that her name was forged and every right to speak out about how she feels about that as a person with rights AND a person who has devoted her career to public service. COUNCILWOMAN Sultana shows her lack of integrity with every bit of her attacking of the "victim" She keeps trying to suggest she is the victim and attacking the Senator. Sultana should be mortified and people should also see through her absolute nonsense insinuating that she is being picked. She needs to stop invoking the "Woman Candidate" nonsense, while she does NOTHING but lie and twist and attack a senior WOMAN Legislator. A woman who was a pioneer for women in state government during a time when there were hardly any. Why does Sultana think women should not have to or aren't good enough to adhere to and compete using the same set of rules and personal integrity?

Sultana is an agist who clearly thinks the law and ethics don't apply to her or to how we should conduct ourselves in 2024. Funny, I guess I didn't get the memo letting me know that Integrity is old-fashioned and not to get in the way of personal gain. Can we all use critical thinking skills and think "Do I really want someone who would behave like this to represent my community?"

Sultana would like you to turn your outrage and focus on things that have nothing to do with this matter by making outrageous accusations about others, so you don't look at her actions. Ladies & Gentleman, The Emperor isn't wearing any clothes. don't be fooled by her baseless distractions from her own fraud.
