While Seeking Re-election as Controller, Pinsley Tells Donors He's Running For Auditor General.

Lehigh County Controller Mark Pinsley recently paraded a large group of parents before Lehigh County's Board of Commissioners to claim that they were all victims of unfounded claims of child abuse. What that has to do with his job as Controller is anybody's guess, but it made headlines. He generated so much publicity that he took his show on the road to Northampton County Council as well, where he generated even more publicity.  There is little doubt in my mind that Pinsely was using these people to advance his re-election campaign against Bob Smith. One mental health professional told me he basically forced these people to go through their trauma all over again, and did it twice. But that's what I'd expect from someone who really should have been a juggler. No sooner was he elected to a township office that he was off an running for the state senate.

Now he's doing it again.  While running for re-election as Controller, he's texting potential donors to alert them that he's now running for Auditor General as well.

Yes, this is the same guy who wanted Lehigh County to add a 1% sales tax as well as a county income tax to fund the arts.

"During the Thursday meeting, Pektor addressed a comment made during a Northampton County Council meeting last week by UMBT Supervisor David Friedman that one plan for RPL includes a building that would be the ninth-largest in the U.S.

That is "totally untrue," Pektor said, and offered to provide evidence to disprove that comment."

  4. I wish people would take time to ask and seek facts , Mark has saved the County Money not loose it. As for the parents they reached out to him for help becuse hey were getting deaf ear on thier issue . Brining something to the light is not painful it's a release of stress, it more of a mental issue how everything was handle and these parents don't want it to happen to anyone else , Elected offical are here to serve the community not the choice few , From what I gather he never cclaim to be the authority, he just want people to look at it and take time to correct it instead of attacking.. When the County put money into anything the controller Has right to audit. . It sad how people can't see past the blinders to see the bigger issue here , The youth and family were put theough trauma of their kids being taken , when the docter had no right to do so and once they are in that system it a night mare to get out

  5. Bernie, I read your comments about how Mr Pinsley "paraded" parents in front of the County's Board of Commissioners. You're suggesting it was all for show, maybe even for his political gains.

I'm a M4L mom who's been through the ordeal of having my kids threatened to be taken away. There are almost a hundred families in our situation. When Mr.Pinsley stepped in, he was the first one to listen!!! it felt like a lifeline.I didn't think he would follow through, I have been disappointed so many times. I don't care if he was making headlines for himself because really he was giving us a voice when we were scared and ignored. He made headlines for us, Bernie

I’ve noticed how his own party treats him they don't even help their own. They don't care. And now, it seems like you're treating him with the same disrespect. And by disrespecting him you are disrespecting those of us that have been terrorized by this doctor and system

But where are you in all this, Bernie? We haven't seen you offering help or support. Have you called the commissioners asking them to do an investigation. have you supported the recommendations. Instead, you're criticizing the one person who listened to us.

Why focus on his motives instead of the help he’s providing? He asked about our kids and our experiences, not about politics. For someone like me, who's too frightened to come forward, Pinsley helped me. He kept my privacy but still fought for my cause.

If he runs for auditor general, I’ll be praying for him, voting for him and supporting him. Because when we needed a voice, he was there. Maybe instead of picking on him, it's worth considering the real impact he's had on families like mine. We need action and empathy. Bernie, when someone does something right. let them run for something else. What do you care. That is the problem you don't

  6. While serving as Lehigh County Controller, he ran for PA State Senate in 2022, unsuccessfully. A few months into his Controller term, he was invited to speak to a local service club about the role and duties of the Controller, but he had very little to say about that position, instead he elaborated about the benefits of voting by mail, which was approved in the prior year by PA legislature and signed by the governor.
Candidates for Controller should have accounting or financial management experience, and sadly, the last one with such qualification was Frank Concannon, who was a CPA more than twenty years ago. Neither of the current candidates is really qualified for the position.

  7. So, does anyone with real knowledge of finance become a Controller in either Lehigh or Northampton County? Pinsley is a poser, and you have Zirinski who is just crazy.

Northampton County had Barron who was just political and wanted headlines and now you have
Zirinski who is a headline seeking narcissist with no financial skills whatsoever.

Must be the water or the democrat party.

  8. The issues with Children & Youth in Northampton County are real.

Parent like myself have been separated fro n their children with absolutely no evidence of harm or potential harm to the children. The department is ripe with incompetence. It is so bad that at my expunction hearing the case worker out her head on the podium and remained silent for almost 40 seconds before saying “I don’t know” in response to a administrative law judge asking “where is the abuse”.

What is happening in Northampton County is criminal. I can’t speak to Lehigh County.

  9. The “anonymous “ comments about Mark Pinsley should be disregarded…if you can’t stand behind your opinions they are worthless.

Mark Pinsley is a caring and dedicated husband, parent and citizen, who served our nation in the Army, and now spends every waking hour fighting for justice! Yes, he’s seeking higher office—and we need a legion of people like him to lead this country!

  10. You're good at digging things up. If you go back to one of his campaign pages he was speaking glowingly of the African National Congress -- you know, the originators of "necklacing" with gasoline filled burning tires.
