Nobody I know calls The New York Post a liberal rag. That newspaper was the first to go with the story about Hunter Biden's laptop in October 2020, right before the Presidential election. The story was intended as an October surprise, but happened to be accurate. Its scathing editorial of Trump, calling him both "deranged" and "bat hit crazy," should give pause to Republicans wondering if he'd Make America Great Again.
Without question, the indictment Trump claims is under review by New York prosecutors - falsified business records in connection with hush money paid to Stormy Daniels - is legally tenuous. It appears to be politically motivated, and could delegitimatize other, far more serious investigations into Trump. These include his January 6 incitement of a mob that led to capitol riots; his request that Georgia election officials "find" the votes to put him over the top in that state; a NY state investigation into his inflation of the value of business assets; and his refusal to turn over confidential material that included nuclear secrets.
While I certainly understand the anger at Manhattan's District Attorney, that's no justification for Trump to post an image of himself holding a baseball bat next to an image of the prosecutor's head. That, combined with threats of "potential death and destruction," warrants legal attention.
Just as he did on January 6, he is fomenting violence.
It's time he suffer the consequences.
Oh stop the pretend pearl clutching. It's not like he's calling to start WWIII or something, like you and your ilk. You said nothing when a congressman was shot by a Bernie Bro. I suspect you privately celebrated. You defended Maxine Waters' call to confront public officials in public and harass them. You said it was cool. You only get concerned when wacky lefties are threatened. You dont care about that DA or any DA. You're a caricature of every whining first wife.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you failed to read the article about one of our own locals who made his case to the U.S. Supreme Court.
ReplyDeleteThe America I knew has almost been lost. But, citizens still have one last chance to save ourselves . . . . from ourselves.
ReplyDeleteOne man has shown the courage to identify our enemies and resist without fear. That man is Donald Trump. He’s EARNED our support and a rightful second term in office to lead our nation back to prominence. Now’s the time, and I believe most of us do realize this.
Stormy is just a smokescreen for the grifter as trump himself made up the arrest story last week to deflect from the real stormy story of his traiterous document theft. He allegedly grifted 1.5 million dollars over the fake arrest. It's a CULT!
ReplyDeletePerspective Bernie...
ReplyDeleteWE are literally on the door step of WW3 and Economic collapse and this is all you got? Seriously... Open your eyes!
Funny how you never speak to the indisputable facts associated with Hunter's laptop and Ashley's diary which both implicate our current corrupt and perverted Commander in Chief.
Apples don't fall far from the tree...
Also, Dershowitz says Trump called him yesterday, and he told Trump that if he gets arrested he should sell tee shirts with his mug shot on them.
ReplyDeleteGrifter gonna grift...
TDS is truly afoot when O'Hare spends his savings account ($1.50) on a copy of the NY Post.
ReplyDeleteBravo! Or not.
LOL - "Politically Motivated Investigation".
ReplyDeleteAny Republican that wants to piss and moan about "Politically Motivated Investigations" and "The Weaponization of this that and everything" just needs to go back to BENGHAZI!!! or Hillary's Emails... It just that Trump is sloppy and maybe not quite as bright as he pretends to be.
Most politicians both Republicans and Democrats are gross, easily corruptible, self-serving criminals. That goobers in this country fly flags on their property and put stickers on their cars with some of these dumb asses names on them is just sad and pathetic.
I love how Trump does something and this post comes right up. But Biden falls going up the steps AGAIN, doesn't go to Ohio, banks are failing, inflation up again, no peace talks in Ukraine, China is so cushy with Russia, now Iran is attacking bases. All this and nothing. Honestly I wish he didn't post the pic because it's stupid but I am looking at the policies and they worked. Wish we had peace and inflation wasn't at a record high due to democrats spending money we don't have. Now they want to bail out banks and print more money to do it. That will make inflation get even worse. Buckle up.
ReplyDeleteWhile I do agree that this hush money payment case is the less serious of the multitude of investigations against Trump, it still is a violation of the law. One that as President, the office holder is sworn to uphold, and for display and role model purposes only, you know he should try to avoid situations where he breaks or skirts the laws the rest of us need to live with.
ReplyDeleteI know that his many fans on this site and in the Lehigh Valley will parrot his view that its a Witch Hunt, but the facts as we've seen so far don't appear to show Trump as innocent.
More interested in seeing how things in Georgia play out, as well as Jan 6th. Both bigger and more consequential.
There is no violation of the law, if any law was broken it was extortion by Daniels and here attorney. Of course bribery and extortion are ok, if in the right cause.
ReplyDeleteYour readers seem unaware that Stormy Daniels already testified a couple years ago that no sexual relationship between she and Trump ever took place, that Trump’s lawyer at the time made the decision on his own to give money to Daniels, that Daniels lost in court for lying and was ordered to pay Trump $300,000 plus court costs. Also, that Daniel’s lawyer at the time is now in prison and Trump’s previous lawyer also spent years in prison after the alleged event. Besides, please cite the legal statute that Trump supposedly violated. Ain’t our news media sources grand?
ReplyDelete"While I do agree that this hush money payment case is the less serious of the multitude of investigations against Trump, it still is a violation of the law."
ReplyDeleteThat's a stretch. First, you have a statute of limitations problem. Second, paying hush money is legal. Third, falsifying a business record about that payment is not a felony unless done to cover up another crime. In this case, that crime could be a federal campaign finance law violation or income tax evasion. The feds charged middleman Cohen but never charged Trump. This is all really a stretch and does smack of selective prosecution. While that may not be a defense as a matter of law, it will play with a jury. What is criminal is threatening a prosecutor. Trump has a pattern of these kinds of threats and must be held accountable. No one is above the law.
Bernie, I think maybe you should be criticize NY Post for fabricating that front page photo and headline. Trump didn’t create it. Besides, Trump himself has been under threat by his opponents in government and the media for years. Problem is, he hasn’t cowered in retreat. That’s been a real concern for many of his detractors.
ReplyDeleteI will not be surprised if Trump really IS indicted for something prior to the next election. Those cases will fail, but the photo ops of an arraignment are too important for his attackers to pass up.
Trump continues to be disgusting. So are his supporters.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Manhattan DA goes to jail for using his office for political purposes, I'll support Trump going to jail for a photo of him holding a baseball bat.
ReplyDeleteSane people aren't holding their breath for either to happen.
SO Are you
ReplyDelete@7:15 "One man has shown the courage to identify our enemies and resist without fear. That man is Donald Trump. He’s EARNED our support and a rightful second term in office to lead our nation back to prominence. Now’s the time, and I believe most of us do realize this."
ReplyDeleteYou're overly infatuated with a particular candidate who is a proven loser - I know it stings, but move on.
Trump lost the popular vote in 2016 and squeaked into office against an equally awful candidate in Hillary Clinton via the Electoral College by less than 100,000 votes across a few states, MI, WI & PA among them.
Trump cost the GOP the House of Representatives in 2018.
Trump was soundly beaten by 7 million popular votes and 70+ Electoral College votes in 2020 against a bland and unexciting candidate in Joe Biden AND because most of America didn't like Trump, cost the GOP the Senate majority in that election as well.
Trump then attempted to assert his influence on the 2022 Mid Terms that were absolutely RIPE for the GOP and once again voters rejected GOP candidates in any location that wasn't already DEEP Red.
As much as Trump & MAGA get some folks charged up, it has an equal and opposite reaction that will perpetually cost Republican candidates at the polls. Trump/MAGA voters are a shrinking demographic. The GOP is doomed until they can effectively kick this habit. Right now they're some poor casino schlub who keeps trying to bet himself out of a deeper and deeper hole.
11:00AM - Glad you are pleased with the direction our country is headed. By all means, vote for Biden, and whoever controls him, once again.
ReplyDeleteTrump lost some of those battles because of a dangerous “UniParty” construct that has metastasized within our corrupted Members of Congress. Trump poses a threat to their self-serving shenanigans and obvious misuse of our tax dollars. Citizen control of American government is absolutely in jeopardy. Yes, most DO know this. But, will it be enough to cut through the mess we find ourselves in? Possibly, not.
At some point Republican "establishment types" - aka "somoen who wants to hold office long term" need to summon up the courage and swallow a bitter pill by turning decisively on Trump. Back any and all Democratic efforts and prosecutions to effectively and decisively remove Trump from the political scene. Yes the optics might be bad, and a few might go down with Trump, but the price will ultimately be worth it.
ReplyDeleteShort term it will sting - maybe they lose some grass root level political donations, but lets be honest, the larger PACs and corporate donor types aren't going anywhere, and with Trump no longer draining those funds away from them, it will eventually slosh back towards them anyway. The Trump base isn't going anywhere. Yes, some might get discouraged and just walk away, maybe just stop voting, but at this point they're simply conditioned to not vote Democrat.
Once that happens the political pendulum will come sweeping back to the GOP.
While we are on the topic of NDA's or Hush money when do we get to sue to see why our tax money was used for this? If Trump is charged we should start right here and charge these people. And I don't care if they are R or D.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.cnn.com/2017/11/16/politics/settlements-congress-sexual-harassment/index.html
11.47, you and your thinking are the real threat to the country.
ReplyDeleteWe need Trump more than ever He will get rid of the left-wing Dems, the deep state people, and the fake media. He will than put in term limits to keep people like Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Mcconnel and many others out that are very bad for our country,. Vote Trump to get our country back if it is not too late --China and Russia may be our next leaders if we leave in Biden and his idiots in too much longer.
ReplyDeleteYou are almost there, 11:47AM. What you are not seeing is this. ALL Washington politicians (R&D) want to remain in office for a long time. It pays very well, openly and behind the scenes. THIS is precisely what we are up against! We are pretty much a one-party nation at this point in history.
ReplyDeleteThe politicians in both parties are working together with the same goal. The power, prestige, and financial benefits of their office are intoxicating. Many will say and do most anything to keep their “game” going. That’s their goal.
The outspokenness, boldness, and talents of Donald Trump pose a serious threat to our political class. You and I are being removed from decision making. All that matters now to these people are the big money interests who fund their campaigns and provide other benefits to them. All Democrats and far too many Republicans in Congress are working to bring down Donald Trump. Two wings of the same bird.
Don’t be fooled. We “little people” are losing control. The future is bleak, I believe, without a change in course.
The best part of this sad saga is that the new rules of political engagement will certainly lead to Biden's harassment and arrest upon leaving office. We've ceded too much power to our POTUSs, mostly due to congressional weakness. I think arresting and jailing leaders is the way to go to get things rebalanced. Japan has started this in recent years. I suspect it will take a Democratic Party POTUS getting arrested to move the media to be outraged at our new banana republic policy. But it will happen. Political payback is as guaranteed as the Sun rising in the East. If Trump is arrested, Biden will definitely be arrested, as well.
ReplyDeleteLast I checked the NY Post is owned by Rupert Murdoch and his news corp.
ReplyDelete3:22, NY Post, like Fox News, is now run by the two Murdoch very liberal sons. Neither news source is now biased toward Trump and Conservatism. As a result, except for Tucker Carlson, Fox has lost a big part of its Conservative Republican audience.
ReplyDeleteYou might have noticed, Fox is heavily pushing Ron DeSantis over Trump. Not so much that DeSantis would win, but rather that he can spoil Trump from returning.
If this is nothing , why did Cohen get sentenced to 3 years in prison. He had a attorney general of high moral values telling them wheels up forget about individual one. Thats why. And your barking up the wrong tree if you think I give 2 shits if Biden or his kid are arrested. If you break the law you should face the consequences .
ReplyDeleteThat's kinda' the point. The feds went after Cohen and he got hammered, but they decided not to go after Trump. Why not? I believe they knew it would be difficult to get a conviction when their star witness is a perjurer. If you break the law you should face the consequences but the prosecution has to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt. This is incredibly weak, unless it is coupled with other things we know nothing about.
