Munsey Re-Elected NorCo Democratic Chair

At their reorganization meeting last night, Northampton County Democrats re-elected Matt Munsey as Chair and voted for Sandra O'Brien Werner as Vice Chair.

There had been some grumbling about Munsey during a meeting that was at times fractious. Joe Kelly, a legislative aide to State Senator Lisa Boscola, was floated as a possible candidate, but was himself absent. Munsey was willing to move that nominations be reopened, but that failed.

In its most recent campaign finance report, Northampton County Dems had about $15,000.

  1. Local Ds don't need an organization or money. Wild's money comes from everywhere BUT here, and she's counted on to pull up the undercards with her massive out of state war chest. Democrats ain't grassroots anymore. That's Rs. Democrats do it the old Republican way, now. Notice you no longer hear them whining about Citizens United? That's what happens when the rules work for you. Munsey is a sacrificial lamb for what will be a bad November. Ground game and money don't matter much when annualized inflation is 18%, gas is $5, and the party messaging whipsaws between "the mess is not our fault, it's Trump and Putin" and "there is no mess, things are awesome, our spending is working and changing lives." If Munsey has a better campaign plan, he should go to Washington and share it.

  3. 7:38 - Actually, it’s not a good time to be an American! We are ALL under attack. This is a total takedown in a drive to Marxism and worse. Yes, indeed, a “Build Back Better” plan. But, better for who?

Susan Wild is an excellent example. What has she actually done on her own to make our lives better? Check her voting record in Congress. She’s been nothing more than a stooge for Nancy Pelosi. How can we expect anything different from Wild if she gets another term?
