Lynch Takeover of NorCo GOP a Win For Hate and Fear

The unofficial tally of voting at the May 17 shows a Steve Lynch takeover of Northampton County's GOP.  I suspect it may also be a win for the politics of fear and hatred.

The Lynch mob captured four of seven state committee seats. He himself was the lead vote getter with 12,512 votes. That's nearly 2,000 more votes than the second highest candidate. He's well on his way to becoming county chair as well. Numerous of his myrmidons were elected to the county committee.

Republican turnout was 35.35% for last week's election. That's a substantial turnout in a GOP primary. It's an indication that a large percentage of Republicans are unfortunately sold on a message of hate and fear.

Lynch, who has never served a day in the military, likes to call himself a "patriot." Though soundly defeated in the Exec race, he continues to pretend he speaks for "We the people." Hed plays on fear and hate, and this weekend alone, provided several examples.

On his Facebook page, he posted a comment from a fellow Republican criticizing him, and then gave the green light to an acolyte who asked for permission  to troll her.

He also implied that Democrats are communists, adding, "You don't negotiate with Communists you destroy them." He's critical of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, not just for her far-left views, but her engagement to a white guy.

And of course, he's already calling a monkeypox outbreak a hoax.

Instead of responding to my previous criticisms with reason, he challenged me to a boxing match and called on his armed thugs to "blast" me (I assume figuratively). They actually did terrorize a GOP state committee candidate who dared to support Kevin Dellicker instead of Lisa Scheller for Congress.

"The American experiment of democracy is in danger like it hasn't been in my lifetime," observed President Joe Biden on Friday. "Hate and fear are getting too much oxygen by those who pretend to love America."

That's Steve Lynch.

  1. National Politics is an embarrassment to all of us who served our Country. Tell a big fat lie just so you can get National Press Coverage. Say anything about democrats like "they eat their own children" and gullible people actually believe it. Say anything about Republicans and they change the subject to deflect criticism and come up with another distortion. Lynch is a disgrace to the human race not only his party. He is also one of the best things that have happened to democrats in Northampton County history. What a fool.

  2. This is sad. It leaves the Republican Party mired in the muck of 2020 and January 6th, truly the party of regression, anger, and hate. When is the Republican leadership get rid of these dudes with nowhere to go? Where are the Republican moderates who use their brains more than their mouths?

  5. i can't explain why Lynch appeals to some folks. I am not sure it can be simply explained away as a desire to have hate and fear expressed or that it resides in the folks who support him. But then I can't explain why some of my usually very rational friends would even consider voting for Tara Z. Just reviewing her poor performance in her current government position without even addressing some of her nutty performances has me scratching my head. And the thought she is teaching college students says much about our education system. Perhaps the appeal of a politician is as irrational as falling in love.

  6. It is true, that you reap what you sow, the democrats have demonized everyone who has opposed their far left policies and now it seems many have accepted their position as the enemy.

There is no consensus between democrats and republicans on the future direction of the country, they are mostly diametrically opposed.

While most blame Trump, he just brought into focus the difference in a very clear way.

Sadly, I see no compromise or solution, not even during a national emergency. It may inevitably require an amicable divorce.

  7. Sadly true headline. I was once proud of where I grew up and I wanted my children to get an education here and bought several houses here to be close to them and the grand kids as they grow up but now I do not recognize my neighbors as partners anymore. What has become of us in so short amount of time? Pandora's Box! The hate and fear is palpable now and it was most likely lying dormant just below the surface of what I thought was a semi ideal community at heart despite our differences. What the hell happened to us? Our national history..the facts..are hard to look at but we must do so if are ever to come to terms with it and make amends. The lying needs to stop if we are to achieve true greatness for our country and ourselves. Democracy is worth it.

  10. I don't understand why you cannot be a patriot without serving in the military. I would understand if he said he was a Veteran and you attacked him for that false claim. A patriot loves their country and should want the best for it. That person he gave the "greenlight" to be attacked was a little extreme herself and honestly I think that if you have to ask permission to attack someone then your too stupid to have free thought and need to stay silent. I do agree with some of the things lynch has said over the last year or so and I DO NOT like the current administration and its bragging about all the good they do when they are destroying the employees of this county. Closing thought.... maybe Lnch wants a boxing match because you have a punchable face?

  11. That dude complains about Facebook, and has like 5 Facebook pages. He credits social media for his campaign's success and then leads everyone to believe Facebook is "shutting him down" every time his phone provider's service drops and a driving-around video gets interrupted. Comedy gold.

Also, he never actually does the things he says he's going to do:
-Big email reveal regarding the County Exec election loss
-Transition to an alternative social media platform
    -"Patriot Picnic"
...and the list goes on and on.

Much like Donald Trump... he just says stuff. Soon, he'll have his followers believing windmills do in fact cause cancer.

    Can't make this stuff up.

  12. Amusing how Chucklehead & his Mob constantly cry about party infighting yet they are usually found spearheading it.
Amusing how the little Mobsters wait for instruction & ask for permission from Chucklehead before moving forward with bullying. Pathetic Humans without brains of their own.
Amusing how Chucklehead can do the same thing (and worse) he accused this NCRC member of doing yet he is absolved from any wrong doing.
Amusing how none of the Mob has stormed Northampton Courthouse demanding a forensic audit of this election (cuz he & his side chick Scheller won) No fraud this time.
Amusing that Chucklehead is putting in a pool in his teeny yard....hope those permits (if necessary) are in order.
Amusing it will be to watch (again) Chucklehead fall from his high horse.
Amusing is Lynch, Core (4), (4+) -- a bunch of hypocrites, fake Christians with double standards.

Dude, look in the mirror. Your whole blog is based on personally attacking people.

I realize you're a democrat operative and that your just parroting this week's talking point (hence the quote from the Divider-in-Chief), but give me a break!

Maybe you and your democrat task-masters could spend less time on personal attacks and a little more time on things like lowering gas and energy costs and getting the supply chain fixed so we can have necessities like baby formula on grocery store shelves again.

You know, things that actually improve people's lives instead of constant personal attacks and causing crisis after crisis.

  14. For the current and upcoming election cycle, “fear” is a very legitimate and necessary component of discussion. Things are NOT good under present leadership and the security of everyone’s future well-being IS under threat. Citizens who still haven’t opened their eyes to the longer term significance of today’s radical political decisions must “snap out” of their passive acceptance of what their elected representatives do, or don’t do. What lies are being told by news media and others working only for the own self-interest.

By all means, YES! Sound an alarm. Our nation and its people are struggling. I would add, losing their grip on self-preservation going forward.

  19. To state that this past election is a "win for hate and fear" is an understatement. What is the Republican party coming too? They have attempted to overthrow an election, they have encouraged and some even participated in the storming of the capitol building and destroying government property and causing bodily harm to federal employees, and now the campaign on a platform of racial attacks and attempting to put an end to minorities voting. You have to be afraid to say anything to these radicals for fear of being attacked. They can't discuss a political topic with you without distorting facts or deflecting the conversation to other political subjects. The republican party is an outright disgrace and now we have Mr. Lynch in Northampton County to guide us through this period of demagoguery created by his own leadership and party. What a poor excuse for a human being.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Does he not know that he is the mirror image of AOC? Extreme views and ideas have taken over American politics, and we as citizens are all to blame for allowing it. TV/Cable "News" clearly plays its part as well, but in the end, we are the ones who consume it.

Not that I was a fan, but what happened/happens to Lee Snover? The PA and Northampton GOP are going to lose a lot of elections putting up conspiracy theorist candidates.

At least AOC has the excuse that she's from and representing a small slice of NYC. Not sure what Lynch's excuse is.

  23. The Republican Party has never been for the people. Just look at the more recent bills to help facilitate baby formula and the one bill that would make it illegal to gouge the price of gasoline, all voted AGAINST by the Republican Party. The Republican Party nationwide are drafting bills to strip individual rights from people that don’t think and look like them, so how is that freedom? They care about “owning the libs” more than they care about their own health. How many died from covid still believing it was a hoax.

The democrats have a lot of problems, but at least they offer solutions, whereas all the republicans want to do is vote against those solutions.

It’s so surreal that guns have more rights than humans in this country.

When you choose to support fups failures and fools it is a choice to do that not matter how you try to appease you conscious and divert the self guilt it is still a personal choice. And this does not matter which side you are on. Many on both sides have the same delusional problems. It cuts both ways.

  25. The GOP is dying, and there is really nothing anyone can do about it at this point. It's center of gravity has skewed WAY outside of "mainstream America". There will be holdouts and outposts across the country where they may endure for awhile longer, but as a national level party they're doomed.

The current state of the GOP simply appeals to a shrinking demographic in this country that cannot understand or grasp the fact that the world around them has changed. That change is not necessarily better or worse, but things are simply different and attempting to apply solutions that worked 20 years or more ago is never going to work.

  26. This is the writer of 7:44AM. i am registered Independent, so neither Republican nor Democrat. What we have today is a POLITICIAN problem. Members of both major parties in Washington suck!

I do believe today’s Democrats are a greater threat to America and its families. Serious damage is being done by radical Democrats who are creating a Marxist/Communist hybrid to replace traditional American governance and values as I knew them for many years. There is NO way I could vote for any Democrat now.

I would also not vote for most Republicans in government, either. They have not done enough to stop the destruction of our futures. Many believe Republicans in office are content to remain the minority political party. I agree and believe they feel immune to the damage being done to this nation. Bottom line, though, our nation’s government has been taken over.

The only way to reverse the course of this government is to vote out incumbents. Fortunately, Pat Toomey has decided not to run. But, I will not be voting for Susan Wild. Statewide, it should be obvious, No one with connections to the Tom Wolf/Democrat Administration deserves to stick around in any capacity. So, no vote for Fetterman or Shapiro, either.

It's a very large tent and easily criticized by any one of its many disparate elements. Democrats used to offer everything from Scoop Jackson and Daniel P. Moynihan to Black Panthers. The party profiles re: diversity have completely flipped.

Democrats don't need a tent anymore. Their views can gather in a phone booth. They are very narrow and very pure. One step outside of the phone booth and you get canceled and crushed. Lynch is a Bozo. But every party has Bozos. Ds have one currently serving as POTUS.

  32. Nothing is a “takeover” until the vote is taken in June, 2022, Bernie. I’m certain someone will step up to challenge Steve for the “chair” position because he isn’t ready for that job (despite him thinking he is). His performance today on the Gunther Walsh radio show indicates that he avoids answering direct questions he doesn’t want to answer and he escalates quickly and loudly when he is challenged. Politics, especially a “chair” position, requires intelligence, poise and calm under pressure. Steve has mastered none of that and continues to prove even post primary election that he is not well suited for that “job”.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Lynch made a fool of himself today by going on Bobby Gunther Walsh's show and getting completely backed into a corner. He wouldn't, or more likely couldn't, answer the actual questions and then blamed the host for interrupting him (because he wouldn't answer the question at hand even though at the beginning he said he'd be happy to answer any question). Bobby is a professional and knew exactly how to expose the fraud that Lynch is. Lynch thought he was going to put one over on Bobby by getting invited on. Lynch better start prepping a lot better if he's going to expose himself like this.

One of the highlights was when Lynch attempted to provide a lesson in how international business works. Lynch should have just ignored the chucklehead comment and kept his mouth shut on this one. Thankfully for those of us thoroughly being entertained by him, he simply won't shut up.

He also never confronted Gunther about the chucklehead comment because he’s a steroid-infused punk that talks a big game, but folds under the slightest pressure.

It has sunk some bad candidates, led to several criminal investigations (including one that resulted in the conviction of Fed Ed), caused Bethlehem elected officials to be a little more reticent about campaign contributions from developers, etc. I have afflicted the comfortable and have comforted the afflicted. 42. Can anyone tell us what Lynch has actually done or accomplished? Showing up to school board meetings and being an a$$hole isn't accomplishing anything. It's making things worse. Spreading Qanon BS on Facebook is only making things worse. Having a pep rally only gives him another 15 minutes of fame, it's not accomplishing anything for those of you that support him. That's the problem with his supporters. He talks and posts on Facebook and they think that's being productive. The only thing he's done is waste taxpayer money by having some cops get overtime to follow him around.

That's what people realized about Cawthorn and are realizing about MTG, Gaetz, Boebert, Gosar and all the Trump acolytes that Lynch models himself after. Enjoy the spotlight because it will surely be turned off in a year or two.
