In Northampton County, there have been several withdrawals, one death and a few vacancies in office that will require an election.
Here are the candidates who've timely withdrawn:
NorCo Council - Scott Hough
SV School Board - Sandra A Miller
Lower Saucon Top Council - Maurice P Kasmiroski
Bethlehem School Board - Carolyn Harper
In addition to these withdrawals, Magisterial District Judge Pat Broscius has passed away while seeking re-election.
Finally, there are vacancies in two-year seats created by the resignations of Thomas Gehringer in Northampton and Philip Weber in Hellertown.
In all these cases, party bosses will have an opportunity to provide new candidates.
Although there are time limits in the Elections Code, the courts consider them precatory, not mandatory. So long as there is no election interference, the courts have historically allowed substitution candidates.
Election Registrar Amy Cozze will meet with the county's elections Solicitor, Richard Santee, to ensure the correct procedure is followed.

Good riddance Phil Weber in Hellertown. You were/are a tried and true Republican who was continually voted out by us voters of Hellertown, only to be reinstated if a vacancy happened to occur. Frustrated by constantly losing at the polls, you changed your registration to a Democrat, along with your cohort in crime, Councilman McKenna (Mike Fleck's brother-in-law), who also is a Republican, but hoodwinked the Hellertown voters by also changing his party affiliation to Democrat. Two Trump supporters cloaking themselves as honest, passionate, true Democrats.
No written article on Paul Carpenter your asshole buddy since the allegations by his own daughter? nothing since the strawberry pie recipe. And this is why your blog lacks credibility. Nothing about how he eviscerated any and all government agencies including police departments, Children and Youth, female rights organizations on a regular basis. The proverb "we reap what we sow" comes to mind. I hope he lives long enough to answer to the charges and if found guilty, a long healthier retirement in the state pen.
John Brown..NOT!!!
Paul Carpenter is not my "pal." I have never met him, spoken to him or corresponded with him. I disagreed with nearly everything he wrote about, and considered him sloppy ion his research. Your snark is also completely off topic.
Correct! Paul Carpenter presented himself as a Pillar of Society, and he used his platform to take on any entity, regardless of consequences, rules or the Truth.
Personally, I'm secretly enjoying watching what he sowed.
