Zanelli Neglected Children in Jersey, But Wants to Be a Judge

Amy Zanelli is running for Magisterial District Judge in West Bethlehem and Fountain Hill. She spoke with a fawning Josh Popichak in February about her work in child protective services. "My ability to see things others didn't led me to go into investigative work on a state level for the State of New Jersey," she told him. "I specialized in sex crimes and homicides and abuse and neglect for children ... ." She even went so far as to claim that she was forced to move here because she had been targeted in Jersey.

This, of course, is a bald-faced lie. Below you can see the opinion of an arbitrator who upheld her termination in 2012 She worked primarily as an intake worker in Somerset County's Department of Children and Families, not as a sex crimes or homicide detective. She was terminated because she refused to work or seek accommodations in a department that was short-staffed and trying to cope with the most vulnerable elements of our society - our children.

In fact, her supervisors discovered that she had failed to document the cases she did have, and they had to be reassigned.

While refusing to work, Zanelli did find the time to drop off some Avon products for fellow caseworkers.

I reported this termination when Zanelli ran for Commissioner four years ago. The Morning Call had the same information I did, yet kept you in the dark. It repeated this failure with Ce-Ce Gerlach. .

Now she wants to be a magisterial district judge.

  1. So many unqualified people in office. So many scam artists running for office. It is a crying shame, Is anyone out there sincere about what they do? It seems like all they want are high paying government jobs with little work.

  3. This is troubling on several levels. And, let's not forget the incident at the Fountain Hill swimming pool earlier this month. Bottom line...is this someone who deserves a position of trust and responsibility? This story deserves mainstream media coverage. And, not after the election in a pseudo explanatory/apologetic op-ed...like Ce-Ce.

  5. She had exhausted her FMLA etc. and was looking for unpaid leave of absence. Was denied and offered the choice to resign to remain in good standing for future employment. Office was understaffed which was the reason for the denial. So why not resign and reapply for the position when she was better? Her behavior was foolish and for that she suffered the consequences. Poor judgment. . .

  6. Wow, that is not good! Why doesn't the press report this? This is crazy that no one knows about this!

  7. Hey Bernie, I'm guessing the the Morning Call and other sources of media view your blog on a daily basis. It's a shame that such a very important position as a Magisterial District Judge and the serious facts do not take any precedent. The spider web that lv4all/some has weaved has been controlling and promoting these political nightmares.

Cee Cee and Zanell were both entrusted with the care of children and look at the outcome. We need not worry Cee Cee was probably promised some type of job after all of the dust settles. Zanelli on the other hand has no employment and is seeking a 600,000 paycheck for the next 6 years if people do not get smart. Oh wait...she is a realtor that has sold 1 house in 2020 and zero houses in 2021. In today's housing market, that's pretty scary information.

You have called her out on numerous occasions and to this date, she has never seriously proven her qualifications. I have a gay child, though I am proud of what Zanelli has done for the LBGTQ community, I'm very disappointed that she is so not qualified at being a judge. I am afraid of her past, present and future. Zanelli is a time bomb and proven has snapped many times over. She will continue her antics, platform, and agenda for her entire life.

Why aren't the citizens looking at a person who has served Bethlehem and his country with honor and intergity for over 35 years? Van Scott has prided himself as an advocate for children (Liberty High School/East Hills Middle School Resource Police Officer) (Lehigh Career & Techical Intitute - teaching high school kids) Many of these students come from Deriuff and Allen High Schools (low poverty). I have first hand knowledge that these kids love him. We will never read about him mistreating or abusing any of his children. Mr. Scott could have vanished in the wind after retirement from the Police Dept, but continued on the serve and give back.

Please people if you care about Bethlehem and Fountain Hill, vote Van Scott in November the right and only choice!!!

  9. The Morning Call wants me to show my support of "quality news," by paying 99 cents per week for four weeks of this kind of purposeful, missing-in-action local coverage. Maybe a guild will improve their news hounding skills. lol.

  10. Unbelievable!! This is someone who seeks a position of trust? We'll see if the Morning Call does the right thing and covers the story. If they are looking for corroboration this is a good start.

  11. I know people who really did do child abuse investigations. She is a disgrace to the profession and dishonors there difficult service. There are many great female office holders and candidates. The problem is no different than any other interest group. In the haste to push all women, the mistake is that you do not properly research and vet all of then.

I hear the most grumblings and issues about Zanelli, Zirinski and Hefner.
