Matt Flower Loses Constable Bid in Moore Tp

I've told you before about Matt Flower, who waged a battle for Constable in Moore To, both here and here. In addition to being a wife beater with a rather extensive record for petty crime, he participated in the January 6 insurrection at the nation'd capitol. There are even photos of him getting hauled up the wall.

My chief concern is that Moore Tp, which is pretty much Trump country, would embrace this wingnut. Fortunately, he was defeated by Ronnie DelBacco. The unofficial tally shows DelBacco with 512 votes and Flower with 328.

So now Flower can ride his horsie off and into the sunset.

  1. That 328 people voted for him is very scary indeed. These people probably believe Chavez is responsible for Dumpster Fire losing the election too. Thank you for helping educate us on his disturbing background - he makes Mezzaloony look like a saint in comparison. I don't believe he will obsess over you the way that she did after you wrote about her lack of suitability as council member.

  2. Isn't Delbacco one of those wild Trump guys?

  3. Bernie, most of the 328 votes for Flower likely help make my argument that in the more local elections including school board, judges, commissioners, and in PA pseudo-police wannabees, people will vote for any familiar name. Nobody remembers the League of Women Voters and their voter guides. A lot of candidates don't even respond when asked for their position statement by them, Morning Call, etc. No offense, but even fewer probably read this blog. Some old guys who do not have a Broadway musical named after them agreed that education of the electorate was essential. We stopped teaching civics in school years ago in favor of all kinds of well-intended mandates. This is what we get. Until we get back to taking elections and voting seriously I think this is going to get even worse.

  4. I agree that just about anyone is a better choice than Flowers, but you might want to check out DelBacco's Facebook page before you sing his praises.

    1. 6:55am: You're right. I just perused his Facebook page. Oy vey! Among other things, He posted that no one should register their guns because it's nobody's business. And, now, he's a law enforcement officer.

Good luck Moore township. You'll need it.

  5. It's going to be Whack-o-mole for a few years while this Trump idiocy burns itself out and these losers ultimately prove themselves unfit to govern. Eventually smarter Republicans will retake the reigns of the party (or create another version of it elsewhere). Anger, hatred, chaos and mayhem is great to rally the troops with, but isn't sustainable with a lack of achievable goals or focus.

  7. The fact that Matthew Flower, with his history of spousal abuse and other criminal activities, was able to garner this many votes should scare anyone who values integrity. This should serve as an ominous warning about how easily the system can be manipulated and used for evil, corrupt agendas. It is beyond disturbing that an abusive narcissist like Matthew Flower was able to run for such an office, or any public office for that matter!!! There should be a clear standard that needs to be met when running for this sort of position. This is an issue which needs to be addressed by reasonable people who want to see some sort of reform of our current system.
