Family Learns of Suicide From Ce-Ce Gerlach Video

Allentown City Council member Ce-Ce Gerlach, who would like to be Mayor C-Ce Gerlach, walks the streets of Allentown more often than a hooker. I guess they both aim to please. Nearly every hour, she's shooting a video about this or that injustice. But she's in hot water over one of her latest video productions. It was the sad aftermath of a suicide by a man who jumped from atop the PPL parking garage. She rushed over and began using this incident to support one of her numerous rants about a lack of city services. In her rush to draw attention to herself, she never stopped to think that the family of this jumper would learn about his death by seeing her video. She's been getting slammed, and rightly so, by her own Black Lives Matter base.

Local activist Rodney Be dropped his "Fuck the Police" bullhorn long enough to trash her. "Yall will do anything for clout #FcknSleazeBalls Someone just lost there [sic] life & yall tryna build a following #FcknSleazeBalls."

Gerlach eventually deleted her video and explained:
I'll take this head on and respond since this isnin reference to my live video from tonight. I apologize. I am sorry. A man from the ATC texted me about someone we knew who had jumped from the parking garage. I arrived about 2 hours later. My intentions were not to exploit but to bring awareness of the lack of services in the city. Having people watch a live video on fb isn't clout to me. The purpose of going live was to talk about the systemic problems and the value of each human life. In retrospect I see how the timing of me doing so was not good. I didn't know that me going live would be breaking news for anyone and for that I am deeply sorry. I intentionally did not mention the name or identifying factors out of respect but clearly this wasn't enough. I'm not sure what else to say other than I am sorry.
Some people accepted what she said, but not the family of the suicide victim.
my family wasnt notified and you went live how dare you.  A 17 yr old child had to see it on live.  And has to go claim his father's body and you decided for your satisfaction to go live.  I lost all respect and will never forgive you.  But your days are numbered in office I promise you that..
Justan Parker, King of LV Black Lives Matter, dropped his bullhorn to say. "Super sad and disgusting." He later added, "Election season coming up and we're starting to see true colors."

I hope they're black.

Another big mouth, Hasshan Batts lackey Positive Kyle Lassiter, said, "I can't not [sic] believe what I saw today ppl Using a bad situation to gain exposure."

Maybe she should call herself Me-Me instead of Ce-Ce.

  2. Sad. In 2003, when my cousin went off the 8th street bridge and survived the initial fall, but died hours later. I found out the next day when it was in Morning Call.
I'm not a fan of Ce-Ce. But way too many people jumping on this suicide bandwagon these days, including your buddy McClure. And the Lehigh County Commissioners addressed the issue Wednesday night at their meeting. Sickening so many disingenuous people exploiting this issue for political gain. A serious effort needs to take place so people can get the help they need.

  3. What a bigot O'Hare. Now attack another woman and a woman of color. You also mock others making a difference in Allentown. Why not do what people say you do best and keep your nose up the butt of your pal McClure in Northampton County. You should stay in an area you know well as the number one suck up. Allentown is doing fine without you.

  4. I am appalled. For a politician to take advantage of this situation to draw attention to herself around the issues of suicide leaves me dumbfounded. My 13 year old daughter found out about her grandfather's suicide on social media. She knew before I knew and years later, I am still infuriated that some careless individual delivered devastating news an a negligent and reckless manner. I have to assume Ce-Ce has never been impacted by this issue and I will pray that she and her family never know the pain of loved one deciding she isn't worth sticking around for.

  5. "Allentown is doing fine without you."

See that, Bernie? Nothing to see in Allentown. Everything is hunky dory and citizens are very pleased with their sty. Election after election illustrates this, as the concerned continue to vote for the same team, and the content opt out, contently.

  6. We are seeing the local Democrats in action here, Allentown's likely next mayor. We'll be wishing Fed Ed would come back on a pardon. We might be better off with Roy Afflerbach handing out more pensions to 40 somethings working the Allentown Fair on overtime.

  7. Of course she's walking the streets, she has no job! Thats why she has time to knock on all of those doors on the west end. While she's campaigning she's collecting unemployment instead of looking for a job. My cousin worked with Ce Ce at Preventive Measures at 11th and Hamilton. She said that Ce Ce was repeatedly warned about being drunk at work. Finally, they had to fire her for it! Now she thinks she's qualified to be Mayor?! She wants to be Mayor because she needs the paycheck!

  8. 2:33 AM Allentown is doing fine?! When was the last time you were there?

  9. Shame, shame, shame on you, Bernie. It's completely inappropriate, sexist, and basically disgusting to use a simile of a hooker when referring to a woman. In your efforts to make your stories more salacious, and funny (to you, I suppose), you often do this. If you're so smart, be more creative to make your point and avoid this type of sexist trope. There is no question that what she did was shameful, insensitive and even cruel. Focus more on that and a little less on what has become your personal take down style of journalism.

  10. The grammar and spelling of some of these ‘leaders’ is embarrassing. If somebody can’t spell properly or use correct grammar I lose all respect for them and whatever they have to say becomes unimportant.

  12. 9:06 AM Get a sense of humor! And don't worry about it because Ce Ce will never be confused for a hooker!

  13. Qualifications for Mayor do not exist...all she has to do is get the most votes in the Democrat primary and she is running PA's 3rd largest city.

  14. So, let me get this straight: Ce Ce was on the school board and ran a deficit and raised taxes every year. She was elected to City Council and within 6 months had so offended her fellow City Council members that they issued a resolution to censure her. She yelled fuck the police, lied about it and then was caught lying on video. She apologized to protesters, comprising The City Of Allentown's legal position, the City she works for. She was fired from her job for drinking. She is out campaigning instead of looking for a job. Her diction and grammar are at a 3rd grade level. She has no experience managing or running anything. And now she video tapes a suicide posts it on Facebook and is caught lying about posting it. How in the world could she think that anyone would vote for her for Mayor or give money to her campaign? She is a train wreck! If she really did care about the City of Allentown she claims to love, she would know that she has absolutely no qualifications to be Mayor and would be so far over her head that she would run the city into the ground!

  15. It was a decent apology, but it was a bad move. Unfortunately, in today's world everyone is carrying around a wireless device and is connected to the social media jungle. I am not and I don't plan to ever be. Never owned even a rudimentary cell phone. I can't imagine living that way, getting alerts to messages and people "going live" and a steady stream of mental assault. Why did you associate this woman with a hooker? Not cool. You go around looking for stories constantly - does this make you a john?

I agree that comparing Ce-Ce to hookers is very offensive and unfair. ... to hookers. As for me, I’m actually a male prostitute, but have not been doing well. Must be COVID.

  19. O'Hare, although I offended many liberals this week with my post praising Emma Tropiano, as the weekend begins, I must concede that you BASTARD OF THE WEEK because of your mistreatment of Ce-Ce, who only ever said nice things about you.

  20. At 3:53 you would know. You are an ugly hooker for your Northampton County Pimp. Everyone knows who you work for in their courthouse. You love that bog white behind. You are known to hate gays and blacks.

  21. In a time of an unprecedented pandemic that's destroying minority populations with co-morbidities, she is a very dangerous example to children battling obesity and trying to stay healthy. CeCe should eat a carrot, run a lap, desist torturing families of tragedies, and STFU.

  22. I'm not really sure whether I should have allowed this comment. I decided to do so bc it is obviously true that Gerlach has a weight problem. So do I. Mine is under control, but that could change at any time. I allowed this bc she is at risk and should avoid going door-to-door. This does not mean she should STFU. But she should think twice before going live and ask herself whether it might do more harm than good. That has been her problem all along. She is basically a selfish person, and I will have a story about that soon.

  29. Funny thing is I never made that accusation, so it is actually you who is lying. What I did do was publish chant compilation of Ce-Ce Gerlach, and note what she clearly did chant.

What I said at the time is this:

"It clearly shows her shouting "Defund the Police!" and actually leading in "Racist-ass cops have got to go!" Whether she participated in "Fuck the Police!" chants is less clear. It appears to me that she was silent during one chant but participated in another at the end of the video. My uncertainty about this is the sole reason I thought only Siegel deserved censure.

You can censure them both at the ballot box."
