NorCo To Establish Covid-19 Drive-Thru Testing Station
A Physician’s order will not be required but, to be eligible for testing, individuals must report or display one or more CDC-recognized symptoms of COVID-19: fever, dry cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste and/or smell. The drive-through site will be open to everyone, but only residents of Northampton County will have the cost of testing covered by the County if they do not have health coverage. All testing will be through HNL Lab Medicine unless insurance requires an alternate laboratory. Participants should bring a photo ID and their insurance card, if they have one, with them to the testing site.
Once I know the date this starts, I'll let you know.
The reason testing is important is because it is important to notify an infected persons's contacts. In the long run, this is what reduces spread.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
Bernie,
ReplyDeleteGood morning. This question is in keeping with today's topic. Does anyone know where we can get tested and have the results sooner than two weeks? Thoughts are appreciated.
If you can't get the results way quicker than 2 weeks, what good is this test site? While waiting for the results you could be infected if you were not already.
ReplyDeleteThe Oval Office
ReplyDeleteNew York nursing home. Positive test almost immediately, however,......
ReplyDeleteI went to SLUHN Anderson Campus on a Friday (early afternoon) & had my test result either Saturday or Sunday (through MyChart). This is less than a mile from the proposed site and already set-up. They didn't ask for any insurance info.
ReplyDeleteSo why 2 weeks for results from McClure's testing site?????????
ReplyDeleteBecause it reflects what is going on throughout the country.
DeleteOne of life's great mysteries:
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that if I don't wear my mask I am endangering others by simply breathing in the same room, but if I go to get tested they have to shove a cotton swab out of the back of my skull to find the virus?
One of my co-workers had multiple symptoms & went to LVH. Since he did not have a fever they would not test him saying that was their protocol. I'm glad I went to SLUHN. Does it make sense to set this up less than a mile from where one is already established? This virus is not a joke but everyone (testing sites, governments) trying to get much of the funds being made available (tax $) are a joke!
