Governor Tom Wolf has crippled Pa.'s economy with his lockdown, something he did and without even bothering to discuss it with business leaders. He wants everyone to shelter-in-place, but has thus far refused to use his emergency powers to make the June 2 primary a mail-in event only. You can never tell with this guy, but it's probably too late to do anything now. So if you are one of the hopefully few hardy souls who insist on voting in person in the June 2 Presidential Primary, let me give you the following advice:
First, you now have until May 18 to register to vote or change your registration. You can do so online. To be eligible, you musty be a U.S.. citizen who has lived in the state at least 30 days before the election.
Second, you now have until May 26 to apply for a mail-in ballot. This is something you can do online as well. Once you receive a mail-in ballot, you have until 8 pm on Election Day (June 2) to return it. It must be in the elections office by that date and time or your vote will not count. If you take it to your polling precinct on Election Day, that is not good enough. It must be in the elections office itself. Mailing it on June 2 is not good enough either. It must be received by the elections office by June 2 at the latest.
Third, the mail-in ballot ballot has no postage affixed. If the county really wants you to vote, it should at least put a stamp on the damn envelope, but is too cheap. Never fear. According to postal service officials, they'll deliver mail-in ballots regardless whether postage is affixed, and then bill the county. Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, nor lack of a stamp, stays these couriers from the swift delivery of mail-in ballots.
Fourth, Governor Tom Wolf is supposedly giving counties 6,000 free "infection protection" kits. I'll believe that when I see it. These kits will supposedly include antibacterial wipes, gloves, surgical masks, hand sanitizers, headset covers, scalpels, ventilators, hydroxychloroquine, toilet paper, bleach with paper cups, and a few cans of disinfectant with syringes.
Do yourself a favor. Vote by mail.

The coronavirus is not a nationwide problem. New York and New Jersey have roughly the same population as the state of Texas (approximately 29 million). New York/New Jersey has over 28,000 deaths - more than half the deaths of the entire country. Texas has 651 deaths. That's 2.3% of NY/NJ.
It's not even a statewide problem in PA. Look at the north central and northwest counties. Very few cases and deaths. What "science" compelled the governor to lock down those counties?
How about Centre County - home to Penn State? 81 cases; 1 death. That's 50 cases per 100,000 population.
I know what you're thinking. Facts are awkward.
My advice is for those who want to hide until the last virus cells are destroyed. Those holding for a seasonal COVID-19 injection that is 100% guaranteed to protect a person (no seasonal injections are fully protective) will have a long wait. Best advice is to stay inside your own home and have food and water left outside the front door!
You think he should have discussed it with business leaders? As if any of them would have agreed.
Is the postal service going to lose my ballot????
Thankfully, our Northampton County Primary is somewhat meaningless this time. I am more concerned about mail-in voting for the November Election. Mail-in voting is an effective vehicle for fraud and dishonesty.
How long can the deadly virus live on paper/mail?
Many voters need to realize they can ‘skip’ a Primary election and later vote in the General. If you are afraid to leave your home or afraid to touch paper, just sit this one out. I mean, we already know the Presidential choices are Biden and Trump.
Bernie. I know i can find out if I'm registered to vote, but can i find out if my mail in ballot actually counted toward the person(s) I voted for?? I don't like mail in voting. But I'm using for June. Thanks.
When I vote by mail, I understand that my ballot is likely going to be tossed out because I vote for the wrong candidates. But God bless America. Just send it in and play along. It's like taking off shoes at an airport, or wearing masks in public. We're just pawns in some type of BF Skinner behavioral experiment, and our minders are having a hearty laugh at all the lemmings.
Then why not do yourself a favor and not vote at all? The rest of us will do the voting.
You think you're voting. Hang your hat on that. Nobody would cheat to win.
You're the one who sees boogey-men around every corner. You must have been very unhappy as a child.
