Keystone State Losing Democrats

Do you think Pennsylvanians suffering from Trump remorse are ready to vote Democrat? Think again. According to Governing, voters leaving the Democratic Party are doing so at a much higher rate than those leaving the GOP.
In Pennsylvania, the GOP has lost 31,224 voters (about one-tenth of 1 percent) since 2016. Still, that’s a far lower rate of attrition than Democrats, who have lost 103,862 registered voters (a 2.5 percent drop) over that same span.
Democrats do retain a massive voter registration edge. As of July 1*, there are 4,045,540 Democrats, far more than the 3,245,181 Republicans and 791,011 Independents.

In Northampton County, there are currently 94,569 Democrats compared to 72,883 Republicans and 25,852 Independents. Since the beginning of the year, 180 Democrats and 145 Republicans have defected.

In Lehigh County, there re currently 110,211 Democrats compared to 78,066 Republicans and 31,470 Independents Since the beginning of the year, 270 Democrats and 144 Republicans have left the party.

  2. God has a sense of humor, but realized he went too far with his 2016 joke sitting in the White House.

  3. Look at the anti American position of the democratic party how can any person with any sense be a dem???

  4. I may be registered democrat but that doesn't mean that I'll vote for a democrat. The party has gone off the deep end and, at this rate, they will probably never get me back.

  5. Sorry, registered as a democrat, but I believe The U.S. is the best country in world history, I do not want to tear it apart and rebuild it into some socialist paradise.

  6. Republicans thrive on oppressing people. No longer the moral majority. This administration has bankrupted our Economy with unfunded tax cuts that can only be sustained with more and more unfunded spending. This president just hopes the economy eeks along until the elections. Why else would he want to artificially influence interest rates and propose pumping more stimulus in the economy. The trump tariffs have wiped away the cuts for the middle class.

Republicans still do not realize the confederate flag is not compatible the US flag. The party of Lincoln would shake his head in disgust.

  10. When is the GOP going to announce that obomas shim Michael will be the top runner against Trump? The dick measuring contest will be the best democrat clown show on earth.

  11. I have been a registered independent since 1969, and never until watching the first two dem debate debacles, have ever considered changing registration. Now, I am almost positive as of January 2020 I will be a registered republican to resist all the insane socialist policies being pushed by the America-hating democrats.

  12. I am an older “white” man. The party that I have belonged to all my life doesn’t want me.
I don’t stay where I am not wanted.
    I am funny that way.

Whining about the confederate flag? That's so passe.

  16. All democrats do is tax look at democratic controlled Whitehall school district board 20 years in row they put taxes UP THIS YEAR TAXES WENT UP ALMOST 5 PERCENT when will it stop not in Whitehall the administration and board does not care about the citizens of Whitehall especially the senior citizens most of the administrators do not even live in the district--one board member said when questioned wait till next year...

  19. It would be best if we all change to independent. With the recent Pa Primary Rule changes you can as an independent pick the Party. If you are a Democrat or Republican you must vote that Party in Primaries.

  21. IN reality our political system breeds very bad people both parties the vast majority of politicians from local to federal are egotistic know everything they always know better than you

  22. Many Democrats have come to realize their party is really controlled opposition, a subsidiary of the corporate party representing not people, but the plantation, labelled republicans.

It's disheartening at first, but later comforting, when you come to understand that it's a military/corporate dictatorship for the most part benevolent and righteous, that's lets us play doctor and lawyer and Indian chief, but they do whatever they want free from our petty little lives and concerns. The top is separated from the bottom entirely.

The only proper attitude to have towards politics is that it's entertainment just more bread and circuses for you enjoy like sports, or to occupy your time like a hobby.

  23. Trump?

I think folks need to watch "Fahrenheit 911" just for some recent historical perspective.

Trump is a disgraceful human being, but as president, not so much.

  24. A lot of PA Dems voted for Trump. He couldn't have won PA without them. They'd grown tired of their party's positions and strayed off the reservation. The party's outreach plan to bring them back? Spend two years calling them sexist, homophobic, white supremacist retards. Hindsight is 20/20. But I might have taken a different approach.

  25. We are very close to losing our nation. If you don't known what globalist government is, it's time to learn. It's the END of citizen decision-making. Big, un-elected government control, a loss of national identity. No borders, etc. The middle class decimated.

We don't need to lose Democrats. A second political party is necessary. But, we need to lose THESE Democrats!

If you are concerned about the future of your family, the Rule of Law, and equal justice, it is essential for you to know where we are being driven by the present Socialist Democrat party. These are not your parents' Democrats. Reject them next election.

At the very least, do not vote for a Democrat running for national office.

"We don't need to lose Democrats. A second political party is necessary. But, we need to lose THESE Democrats!"

Yes! You are 100% right. A second party we can control... like controlled opposition like...Kamala Harris... oh wait...

  30. This 4th, we can all celebrate with Democrats in victory, as the Betsy Ross flag is now designated a hate symbol! Who knew, except for every D governor who has shown support for this glorious conquest? Has Wolf penned his letter begging Nike to locate in PA? I cant understand why Dems are losing voters. It's a puzzle. Happy Independence Day. Our new country is awesome.

  33. Curious as to why all these people claiming to be disaffected Democrats were ever Democrats in the first place. The party's positions are now more in line with the New Deal / Great Society than they have been since the late 60s. Unless Bill Clinton is your shining example of a Democratic politician, I'm not sure what exactly you expect from the party.

  38. "There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success." ..."and in the eyes of the people there is the failure; and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage.”

  39. 1011...After a little research, Whitehall School Board is a split board. All members support the spending throughout the year but when it comes time for the budget, some provide doublespeak. Just like Republican adding nearly $3 TRILLION in debt with unfunded tax breaks. How patriotic is it to fund government on a promissory note? It is all gas. Feds cut Education to pay for hail to the chief parades and local school districts. Nearly every school district is distressed because of Republican backed, multi benefactor, loophole charter schools. Divesting the public's pocket just like for profit private prisons and detention center.
