Why You Should Vote For Nothstein, Wild or Silfies
Nothstein. - This is a man who already runs his family farm and owns a car wash. He turned finances around at the Velodrome. As a Lehigh County Commissioner, he has said No to Executive Phil Armstrong's request for a tax hike. He wants to make the tax cuts for the middle class permanent.
"Unemployment right now is at the lowest level since 1969. Wages grew nearly three per cent, the highest since 2009 and nicely outpacing inflation. A record seven million jobs are on the market, more jobs available than people willing to work. Pennsylvania has added more jobs this year than at any time over the last 18 years. Record job growth in Pennsylvania, also right here in the Lehigh Valley. Why? Tax cuts. More money. People are motivated."
Silfies. - A former business reporter, Silfies describes Nothstein and Wild as two sides of the same coin who will do and say anything to win. His primary concern is the $21 trillion debt and the inability of the major parties to get anything done. He would like to see more free market solutions instead of responding to problems from Washington. He noted Lasik eye surgery is paid for by individuals, and prices have gone down.
Wild. - An experienced attorney, Wild would serve as a check on Donald Trump. She supports a phased-in $15 minimum wage and considers health care a right. She also believes the government has no business in a woman's medical examination room. She argues it's "outrageous" that interest rates on student loans are higher than on her mortgage and car loan.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
A vote for Wild means a vote to impeach President Trump. Impeachment will become one of the most important goals for the Democrats if they take the House. Their aim: to rehabilitate the failed effort to delegitimize our president and his policies, both in the past and going forward.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the nothingburger charges against President Trump are, they'll be voted on early in the term and passed on a party-line vote by Pelosi's robots such as Susan Wild. The reasoning: An impeached president governs under a cloud. Wild and Pelosi's sycophants will keep that cloud in place through November 3, 2020 to give their nominee for president a P.R. edge over President Trump, who will not quit the game.
With regards to Tim Sifies, elections are binary. Basically, all choices are -– up or down, right or wrong, to be or not to be, eat your dinner or go to bed. Those who insist that their opinions are so finely honed as to require a third or fourth or fifth choice don’t understand the reality of elections. It always comes down to a race between the top two contenders; any additional candidates merely siphon votes from the top two and create a situation where no one has a mandate.
ReplyDeleteAlso, truth is a crucial component of elections. Our nation is now split between those who see truth as variable, open to infinite manipulation and those who see truth as an absolute concept, the foundation of our society. We have seen recently the secret videotapes of Democrat campaign workers copping proudly to the fact that their respective candidates are lying about their positions on issues in order to be elected. They talk as if that kind of prevarication is just business as usual –- and for many in government that is the case, as scandal after scandal has recently demonstrated. Half of the Senate Judicial Committee was just fine with condemning a man on the basis of what were unsubstantiated and ridiculous accusations by women of questionable character. The “I believe her” mantra came forth with no corroborating evidence at all, and with no concern for its lack.
Susan Wild will not answer any question posed to her on her website. She ignores any question she may find uncomfortable and lose her any support by answering it, especially with regards to her role in the Ed Pawlowski scandal. It's safe to presume that she will vote as one of Nancy Pelosi's foot soldiers in the house, so the reality is if you like Nancy Pelosi, you will like Susan Wild.
Lastly, no matter how this election turns out we must remember that God controls history. How else could Donald Trump have won an election stacked against him?
So we’ll pray and we’ll vote for Nortstein and we’ll watch President Trump's plan unfold.
vote democrat is a vote for more taxes more crime no ice no borders sanctuary cities wild the lawyer for fred ex and the morning call is another left liberal lawyer who will be a good fit in the swamp how can she represent the real people of the lehigh valley
ReplyDelete6:16 so true you are
ReplyDeleteNothing authentic about Wild- reminds me of Hillary. She has no integrity- I can't forget her broken promise to Morganelli. As an independent, I just can't vote for Wild. My vote is for Marty.
ReplyDeleteWhy in the world would anyone be unhappy with the RESULTS of the present administration?
ReplyDeleteI can accept that many don't like his personality, but he's been productive in so many ways.
This is no time to stall/reverse everything with a Democrat-controlled House that's set on a return back to Obama (or worse) policies that lean Socialist/Communist. Besides, the Democrat's awful behavior over the past two years does not deserve more support.
Trump has been a disgusting President who lies every time he opens his mouth. He is mean-spirited, shallow and a demagogue. He appeals to people's darkest fears. According to the polling, this disdain for Trump is what has prompted many democrats to vote. I agree that many democrats have also engaged in "awful behavior," but nothing like Trump. The Rs can argue the economy but have lost the moral high ground, thanks to the man on top.
ReplyDeleteWait, Bern. You can’t be serious. Rs have lost the moral high ground? Where have you been? Trump may say things that most wont, but most of the things he says are spot on true. He has not given into political correctness. He tells it like it is and does t sugar coat. No moral high ground? Did the Rs try to destroy Kavanaugh? Are they violent on college campuses when a speaker from the opposite side comes to speak? The liberals have lost the moral high ground. Your comment is just as ridiculous as CNN posting an article today about trump using the race card. Really? Th race card is overused by the left and the answer to everything when they don’t have a case. FEMA best be ready because we have a red wave in the forecast.
DeleteAll the left does is play the race card. Pretty sick of it for awhile now.
DeleteHow about some substance from the left instead of the constant protect my right to kill an unborn child.
Wild is too extreme, and can't even be honest about who she is and what she believes in. She caught herself several times in the debates while she was saying she supports open borders, and has most recently been caught in a lie about some of the cases she was involved with at her previous law firm. Lying seems to be second nature to her, and she's living up to every negative perception of her profession (lawyer). In a sane political year, she'd be down by 20+ points in the polls and would have been written off long ago.
ReplyDeleteSilfies is a nice guy, says he's not like the other two candidates, but offers nothing as far as specific solutions or how he'd accomplish anything (dealing with a two-party Congress) if elected. He said when he announced that he saw a way he could win, and I thought he'd do the right thing and drop out now that it's clear that he can't. He has a background in the media, and it seems like he's in this race more to promote himself than to offer anything different.
Nothstein is the clear choice in this race, unless you're so blinded by Trump hate that you don't care if the economy tanks and recent job gains are lost. I'm not a big Trump fan, but supporting policies that are working for the country is just common sense. Nothstein (like Silfies) mostly supports those policies, and is the only one of the two with a chance to win.
Vote Marty!
Marty might just pull this off
ReplyDeleteTrump is a great president he makes tall the right moves he is a winner just because he does not act like you typical politician which is why he is so productive in spite of the democrats who vote against all his great policies in realty the democrats are anti American n they do stuff that hurts the American people --more taxes more crime anti police get rid of ice sanctuary cities no border unfair trade agreements poor poor foreign policy Bernie how can be against president Trump when he is doing so good for the country in spite of the left and the very liberal democrats who are trying their best too hurt this country vote republican
ReplyDeleteBernie claims lies but at least he keeps his promises not like most if not all politicians o bama never lies sure
ReplyDeleteSo, why does this Democrat Party deserve our support? Is it just because that's not good for Trump? Better to consider what's best for your family and our nation long term. Becoming more like Venezuela or Cuba doesn't appeal to me. Vote Marty Nothstein.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a National disaster. He gave rise and emboldened hate groups. Save the Ujion and American Values. Vote Democratic.
ReplyDeleteThere is no moral high ground in politics.
ReplyDelete950. Saving Healthcare and Social security is what is best for my family. Women deserve respect. Vote Democrat.
ReplyDelete"So, why does this Democrat Party deserve our support? Is it just because that's not good for Trump?"
ReplyDeleteBasically. I agree that you should vote for the person, but recent polling indicates that what is driving many Democrats to the polls is Trump. He is a disgrace to the office and this country, and I say this mindful that the economy is booming.
Though The Morning Call has done its best to smear Nothstein, one of ts hit pieces actually demonstrates that he knows how to make money. I believe he would help create jobs for the working man.
Wild would be a check on Trump, an authoritarian who needs to be checked.
Silfies would be his own man, more than any of the candidates.
There are three clear choices.
Polls say Wild. But they also said Hillary.
Consider the incoming caravans making their way here from Central America. That's very real, by the way. Think about who's funding it and why. We MUST get control of our borders. That can happen during this administration . . . but not if Democrats control the House.
ReplyDeleteTrump and his cronies need to be checked...VOTE BLUE!
ReplyDeleteClean house vote Wild
ReplyDeleteI am pulling the Nothstein lever. Wild will do nothing but obstruct the progress being made. This open borders thing is frankly ridiculous. Jobs are taken away from honest working Americans and wages are being driven down too. If we need to replenish our work force, come in the legal way and pay your taxes. We have American homeless in the streets that need to be taken care of first.
ReplyDeleteI am a senior citizen that can get by on S/S and my retirement. Where it is a problem is when my property taxes come due. I just can't afford them. I had to put my taxes on a credit card to pay them. This puts me deeper in dept. I have e-mailed Wild's office 5 times about her opinion on eliminating these taxes and have not received one answer. I have read that 10,000 seniors a year are put out of there homes for lack of payment for property taxes. Bernie maybe you can tell me if any candidate is looking to discard property taxes. That is the person that will get my vote.
ReplyDelete@1:10 - In all seriousness, what jobs are being taken away by illegal immigrants that honest working Americans really want? Both Dems and Reps are equally guilty of over dramatizing and demonizing the other teams agenda, but this old trope always cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteIs this caravan snaking its way up thru Mexico filled with Central American pharmaceutical salesman? Software Consultants? Doctors? Lawyers? Coffee Shop Baristas?
It's most likely a horde of maids, gardeners, call center trons, street sweepers, janitors, and maybe a handful of semi-skilled laborers who can hang dry wall, swing a hammer or pull wire thru a wall.
You are emailing the wrong people regarding school taxes. That is a state level issue.
ReplyDeletethe democrats will tax even more than you think they are against our police they are really anti American they care more about the caravan than the American citizens avote for a democrat is a vote against America vote for a red wave
ReplyDeleteBernie rants and raves at 8:09 and 10:38. I'm sure he's not done ranting yet. But let's face it folks, as a democrat; he's done. As is the democrat advantage in Northampton County, and most likely, Pennsylvania. We've seen New York and New Jersey, and we don't want to be them. So get out and VOTE.
ReplyDeleteStop the impeachments hysteria. I guess you think all your republican brethren are stupid. You are employing your great leader's tactics. A republican senate will never vote to remove him from office. It doesn't matter what the house would do and you know it. Hate and fear, your mantra.
ReplyDeleteBernie, it would appear Gen Lee Snover has appointed an alt-left soldier to monitor your site. It reads as the same soldier is posting numerous comments on all your political posts.
ReplyDelete@ 2:18 "It's most likely a horde of maids, gardeners, call center trons, street sweepers, janitors, and maybe a handful of semi-skilled laborers who can hang dry wall, swing a hammer or pull wire thru a wall."
ReplyDeleteHow elitist of you, but these are the very same jobs that many young, non-college bound Americans start out with in their careers. These tough jobs are what build the very character that our youth need today. Not every young American is a college bound, Dr, Lawyer, IT type. Additionally, I believe if more of these jobs were available, some of our youth would be less likely to fall into this devastating drug epidemic we are witnessing. And please stop insulting people who choose to make a "blue collar" career as something less than noble. Jesus was a carpenter.
4.09
ReplyDeleteOr try a different tactic.
treat the employers who hire illegals like drug dealers.
Fine the employer one thousand a day for every day the illegal worked.
grab the assets of those employers including any thing they might own.
use the proceeds from the forfeiture to fund the enforcement action.
4:38
ReplyDeleteI think you may have found a way to pay for the wall! Bravo!
like the president says vote democrat and things will change in a bad way
ReplyDeleteOh good grief, Bernie. Get a grip. Or not. Whatever.
ReplyDeleteanon 4:09, the young people you reference have not been applying for the jobs you cite. Seriously, stop the fake class warfare of the alt-right. College, non-college, it doesn't matter. The jobs available do not match many skills of the mass population. Most of the jobs pay less than the cost of living. The idea that these shit wages are starting and kid wages is also BS. Many older people can only find thee jobs and they get paid these crap wages. You need a new message.
ReplyDeleteYour new great economy is not working for majority of the people. Illegals will take these jobs for crap money because they will not complain for fear of deportation. Your great employers know that and play it well.
Let's get real. Videos of the coming caravans clearly show about 70% young adult males. Yes, there are some women and children, too. Most of these people will not be taking any low wage jobs. Most are not married and they'll STAY that way.
ReplyDeleteOur growing welfare state includes many single moms with kids and able-bodied males who move in with them. We must control our borders and welcome new immigrants on OUR terms and on merit. Democrats are not strong enough on border control.
5:58
ReplyDeleteIf ignoring the laws of supply and demand is your game, I can see why this is all so clear to you. Have a good day!
The caravan is a rouse. Trump is fear mongering...don't fall for it!
ReplyDeleteLet's see. This horde is half the population of Forks tap. We are sending 3 times as many troops. Please get a grip.
ReplyDeleteBoy, the Folks at Psychology today would have a field day reading these comments!
ReplyDeleteBernie, how are you voting on the controller/conflict of interest question? The only thing I've seen on it has been Roger D-W's letter to the editor
ReplyDeleteBernie, I see you mentioned the old sea hagg in your last post compairing it to it? The disdain as well as bad tastes in the mouth was depicted via email and the electronic billboard over the Jordan creek by the Home Depot this weekend.
ReplyDeletePlease post it so we all can upchuck our breakfast before going out to vote and all have a bad taste in our mouths too, I'll send you another and it didn't slander another person!
redd
Another razor thin victory for The Blade.
ReplyDeleteHey Bernie, your buddy Zirinski is on Facebook lobbying for a job with Wild. She is out canvassing hoping it snags her a position.
ReplyDeleteanon 6:10, you are too funny. The old supply and demand argument. In a vacuum it makes perfect sense. lol.
ReplyDeleteKim, perhaps I should have done a story. I vote No. the reason is that the change will permit PT controllers. I want a controller who is there during business hours.
ReplyDelete"The economy is great". This is the 3rd time for me seeing the ruse of creating a huge deficit for the country to benefit the mega-rich while letting some drips to the lower classes which then of course has always led to the crash destroying the retirement and lives of those who don't have golden parachutes. 1st under "saint" Reagan, then Bush, and now, hey, let's just make it a couple of trillion. And then let's leave it to the Democrats to clean up the mess while we dock another yacht in some other country with no taxes.
ReplyDeleteWild believes the government does not belong in a woman's medical room but she believes they should be in my gun cabinet. I am voting Republican!
ReplyDeleteMarty should have defined her early in the campaign for the lying liberal she is. Bad decision not to from bad consultants. Hopefully voters will see through her deceitful ways.
