  1. Bernie , these characters are off the street . Our sheriff s department people are doing a great job. I suspect Deputy Volpie is a real leader. I personally commend him ,I’ve observed him and he is the real deal. But I just saw an active shooter drill conducted in Philadelphia. I did them as ‘ Governor s 20 ‘ Because the state was ahead of the curve and I placed top 20 8 years in a row. So I’ve done the drill. The officer is right handed and is carrying his firearm with a bent elbow. That means to me he is Not properly instructed. Bent elbows allow a Base of the firearm to recoil on that round fired,,what happens to autoloaders is the base falls back with the slide ,causing the eneria to evaporate and the operator will get a ‘failure to feed ‘ on next round and ‘a stove pipe ‘ with expended case at frame . No secondary shot as result. This can get him killed with return of fire almost immediately. Remember if you bang on the door and no one answers , the next action is to go to the trash can and look for a pizza box . Most deadbeats are up all night and too fucked up to go out ,so a delivery is made and their phone number ion the side of the box. They all need a touch up , shit is on , 47 officers killed in line on duty deaths this year up 20 %.

  2. It’s not obsession ,it’s enthusiastic forward thinking. However, I apologize for expecting some viewers to read between the lines. Let’s assume an officer works 50 weeks a year any carries a firearm on duty about 2,000 hrs . Typically, their training time is way less than 5%. This year for some social reason , the death rate on officers is up 20 % by firearms alone. and the last quarter of the year has almost 82 days left. And the last quarter is typically the uptick of incidents. Next comes vehicular insidents. Warrent work is especially hazardous. Thirty officers in a small department runs the actuarial table up. Budget restrictions should still allow time for “marksmanship training” because in the end a loss is catastrophe. Good day.

  3. See ,from the date of your publication to today Bernie the Easton Poice has arrested a deadbeat on South Side that had weapons in his possession. That could have killed an officer. Our guys do a great job here ,but we need to think actuarial on risk assessment.its easier to get a van moving in on the weekend than to abating the scumbage later. Moving permits and access to rental property authentication in the spot . Police should be able to roll up and say - put your stuff back in the van because your not cleared to move in . But what do I know. . .?
