Bethlehem Tp Manager Doug Bruce confirmed after last night's Commissioners' meeting that he has proposed a half mill tax hike for next year. A skeleton of a spending plan is available online, and contains no budget message that might explain why a tax increase is necessary. Bruce did indicate that additional material will be uploaded to the Township website this week.
Bruce may propose, but it is Commissioners who dispose. Budget hearings are scheduled as follows:
Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Nov.10, 2018 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

figures. They are worthless
Township has a "spending" problem!
Anyone say anything about the amount of money spent on the Community Day flop? Thousands of wasted tax dollars and now want to raise taxes?
Didn't they recently borrow like 10 million dollars and now want to raise taxes? Something is seriously fiscally wrong in Bethlehem Township.
@8:11,
When you plan outdoor events, you are at the mercy of the weather. More than anything, that was the problem.
The half mill is likely the response to the possible introduction of a fire tax.
If that's the case, they need to renegotiate their agreements with surrounding municipalities and stay within township boundaries. How much damage to the firetruck responding to a fire in Salisbury twp?
Build that Wall, make the township great again!
