Superbowl Aftermath: Philly Goes Nutz

Lock up your women and children! Eagles' fans are on the loose!

I've done some cRaZy things back in the day. I've gone skinny dipping at 3 AM in a stranger's pool with a bunch of other drunks. I've done many other things that are pretty shameful, as you might expect from a drunk who lost his license to practice law.

But I never punched a police horse.

When the Eagles hosted Minnesota, two fans were arrested for just such an equine assault. One of the assailants calls Whitehall home.

But that's just one of those things, right?

No.

In the aftermath of the Eagles Superbowl victory, joyous fans decided to steal two police horses. Reports that an ostrich was stolen from the zoo turned out to be false, especially since the zoo has no ostriches. But a car was flipped, and for some reason, a Christmas tree was set ablaze. A cop was accidentally run over by a four-wheeler. The Ritz Carlton awning collapsed, and today I heard one radio personality claim he has a piece.

Good fun.

Then some bastard actually started eating horse shit.

In fairness, it might have been a reaction to Justin Timberlake's half-time show.

  1. Horse poop is loaded with fiber. But the lame halftime show was enough to barf it up.

  2. The Animals in Philadelphia were let loose from their cages and we saw the predictable result.

  3. This was a great game. The Eagles simply beat the best team the NFL has produced in it's history. The Patriots over the past decade were simply the best there was.

No longer. The Eagles deserved the win, as did Nick Foles having accomplished a Superbowl ring I would not be surprised if he retired. I was not in the least sorry to see the strutting, overconfident, arrogant Tom Brady slink away after the loss. The 'its not supposed to happening like this' look on the face of Bill Belichick during the game heralded an Eagles win long before the final whistle, still kudos to the Patriots they tried, god love them they tried, but as Brady said 'losing sucks'...

Indeed it does especially when you expected win... Go Birds... Nothing I can say about the city of Philadelphia, except its no different from any other 'lawless sanctuary city' best avoided after the sun goes down.

More people arrested in New England...and they also robbed Gronk's house during the game.

  9. It's true about SOME out of thousands of Philadelphia Eagles fans that happened to be criminals by destroying property, turning over cars, setting fires, breaking windows, looting a small grocery store. They should be made to pay for any damage they caused and thrown in jail. Where are the new England patriots squeaky clean when they won their Super Bowl's I think not. As far as Tom Brady walking off the field and showing poor sportsmanship by not congratulating Nick Foles is just another flaw in this character. It's not the first thing you walked away from, like Bridget Moynahan (who plays Tom Selleck's daughter on bluebloods) who is pregnant after a three-year romance. She can only say "I don't think any girl grows up dreaming of being a single mom".

  11. Dat Lambert: 2/6 FG, 1/3 3FG, 4/4 FTs, 2 steals, 2 assists - 13

My math tells me that’s only 11 points and not 13.
    Cooking the books?

  13. Mission Accomplished

After weeks of incitement by the media, running a football game as their lead story, feeding folks horseshit, and whipping them into a frenzy.

A well tested formula works every time. You're not sports fans, you're sheep, now go buy a jersey.

My mother-in-law hates his commentary so much that she mutes the TV when he speaks. Just mentioning his name or hearing him sets her off on a rant. We really don't know why. My kids and I enjoy a good laugh whenever we hear him. It has become a family thing. I am a Patriot fan and watched the Super Bowl with my brother who is a long-suffering Eagles fan. It was fun and enjoyable to watch. Glad my brother could experience the joy I felt in 2004 when the Red Sox finally won the World Series. Congratulations to the Eagles and their fans. You deserve it.
