Is Democratic Failure to Applaud Trump Treasonous?
According to NBC, he suggested that failure to cheer him was "treasonous," and then added, "Can we call that treason? Why not? I mean, they certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much."
He is currently trying to discredit the Justice Department so he can remake it in his own image.
Once that happens, he can do what other strong-arm dictators do and round up his opponents. He is a threat to our Constitution and to democracy.

I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. Failure to applaud, no.
ReplyDeleteHowever actively taking measures to overthrow a legitimate elected government is called a coup d'etat. And that is what is being uncovered by Congressional investigators now.
What is becoming clear is that the Clintons, the FBI, CIA, DOJ, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director Comey and his assistant Andrew McCabe ( and it seems others others ) conspired together to spy on a legitimately nominated Republican candidate for the Presidency of the United States in an attempt to subvert the Presidential election.
ReplyDeleteThis is magnitudes more serious than CREP placing wiretapes in the DNC's Watergate offices in June 1972, as the conspirators in 2016 used the power of the United States Government to undermine the Republican campaign.
In addition, we also have the same conspirators conspiring to avoid the prosecution of Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate for the Presidency of the United States, for multiple braches of the Espionage Act and other felonies and misdemeanors.
This goes far beyond a special prosecutor. This will take a omission to unearth all of the criminal felonious wrongdoing which occurred during the Obama Administration. Actions such as this also do not occur in a vacuum. We need to know also what President Obama knew about all this, and when did he first learn about it.
This is not going to go away anytime soon Mr. O'Hare.
Answer is no. What was treason ? Clinton/Lynch tarmac meeting , McCabes wife into Clinton’s in Virginia politics, Anon 3:24 about sums this up . This makes Watergate look like stolen Girl Scout Cookies. Trump should cool his jets ,but he is who he is.
ReplyDeletePresident Trump and the republican congress have found that the FBI is full of operatives against the US. On the news a republican leader said they will investigate the State Department next. Apparently Washington is full of un-American officials and maybe even traitors. President Trump will expose those against the US and clean house. America is fortunate to have President Trump fixing the problems in the government.
ReplyDeleteThe Fox state channel has done its job well by the look of your posters so far. Its scary how gullible and and willing they are. Do any of you ever actually read a newspaper? Drudge, Breitbart,Infowars as well as the bots producing their twitter numbers do not constitute legit sources. As long as lemmings are willing to march to them this corrosive administration will keep its base well fed in this and any other issue it can to cover its utter incompetence.
ReplyDeleteTrump is a little dictator at heart. I'm only surprised he didn't call for those who didn't applaud him to be summarily executed.
ReplyDeleteRemember the old Senator called "tail gunner Joe? Bernie remembers him. He was an early 1950's republican shitbag that accused everyone who disagreed with him of being a communist sympathizer. His actions found nothing but he destroyed the lives of many people. Suicides and lost jobs because he clamed all the same shit Trumpee and his co-conspirators are claiming.
ReplyDeleteThis is bullshit and the methods of people whom are the farthest things from real Americans. People have no idea what this country is about. No more real history just websites, state TV and idiotic people. We are doomed!!! No real education any more.
You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
You really have to get off the political juice, Trump is in trouble and the deflection, that you are so eager to believe, is treasonous
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the kids who have to witness you brain dead people believing that Republicans appointments by Donald are now corrupt. You people really need to look in the mirror and take a breath
Whatever has gone on before, or is going on now under the cover of secrecy needs to be brought out into the open. No one is above the law. Citizens deserve to see for themselves how our government officials REALLY conduct their business. Forget the media clearing any of this up for us. Those days are over.
ReplyDeleteTrump will pick another five Supreme Court justices in his two terms. The court will be conservative for decades to come. He will fill lower courts as well with judges with the same leanings. Sorry libtards.
ReplyDelete"Once that happens, he can do what other strong-arm dictators do and round up his opponents. He is a threat to our Constitution and to democracy."
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. But so was Obama, whose executive power grabs while Congress did nothing were passed immediately to Trump. Obama used the DOJ to attack political enemies using partisan opposition research. Hell, he elevated it to an art form. He also used the IRS to stifle conservative political groups when he didn't like the Citizens United ruling. It's frustrating when SCOTUS checks presidential power. It's also the way things are supposed to work. I don't like Trump one bit. But you used to be more evenhanded. You have Trump derangement syndrome and are just another talking point whiner. We used to get better here. Obama did it to the right. Trump has done it to you. This is why we can't have nice debates anymore. E.g.: Trump is a nazi dictator and Obama was a communist muslim Kenyan. Now, let's have rational debate! Good grief.
Joe McCarthy was only wrong about the number of communist sympathizers. He number was low. This has been examined by such right wing mouthpieces as WaPo.
ReplyDelete4:47 writes, “Do any of you ever actually read a newspaper.”
ReplyDeleteThere is plenty of concern today to go around all sides of the political and ideological tables. That being said, is there reason to believe any one newspaper or other media outlet is less biased than another?
Trump Derangement Syndrome
ReplyDeleteMaybe that garbage White House memo was treasonous? Selective cherry picking in fact omissions are the heart of the memo.Even Wall Street knows better. It's appalling he would try to shame Law Enforcement the way he did. What does he have to hide? So much for transparent president who refuses to release the White House visitor logs and his tax returns.
ReplyDeleteIn part Reagan presided over the end of the cold war due to the collapse of our adversaries economy. Trump is on the verge of restarting it again due to the collapse of our moral authority.
ReplyDeleteYou are not applauding the man, you are showing support for the policy and its outcome. If you can not show support for what's good for the USA, then I need to question what you stand for. Sad when he spoke about the fight against ISIS and not one stood or applauded. Only when Me Peck of the Army was introduced did they actually acknowledge the doings of our military in the Arabic states. Pitiful.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's Obama's underground Gov't trying to take over the demo party?
ReplyDeleteSecret Announcement! Please, for the sake of our democracy, keep this announcement secret! Don't let Trump or his supporters know about it, OK? Tonight, our "Secret (Libtard, Commie. Pinko, Treasonous, Feminazi, Democrat) Society" will be holding a "SECRET MEETING" to discuss secret ways to sell our country's secrets to the Communist Fake News, Lame Stream Media in order to end the reign of our hero, President-for-Life, the Greatest, Most Physically and Mentally Endowed and Stable Genius, Donald J. Trump. Chairing the "Secret Meeting" will be the noted Kenyan-born, Muslim Fake President Barack HUSSEIN O'Bummer. Cupcakes, hummus, fresh snowflakes and foreign wine will be served. Sign up and give us at least five names of known Communist Party members in your community you can bring with you and we will send directions to the meeting place at your individual spy letter drop spot.
ReplyDelete@8:48: You forgot to invite me to the meeting. I'm not a "Libtard, Commie. Pinko, Treasonous, or Feminazi". I'm a proud "Snowflake"!
ReplyDelete@8:48 Now THAT'S funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat's more concerning? Trump's musings or recent statements from Sen. Tom Carper? My goodness, have to wonder what's in that Washington, DC water.
ReplyDeleteIn less than 3 years will can start all over with a new president and more trash from both sides of the aisle.
ReplyDeleteIn four years, Trump will still be president because Democrats haven't moved through the grieving process to a point where they can put up a candidate who is electable throughout 50 states. After a year, they're still stuck between denial and anger. It's also difficult to win back voters you're constantly calling stupid, racist, homophobic, nazi, etc. The next D presidential nominee will be much farther left than Hillary. That will be gift to Rs and the Great Orange One.
ReplyDeleteIt has come widely known that former AG Loretta Lynch was pro-Clinton and the top layer of the DOJ and FBI were behind her. Additionally, Obama was supportive of this effort. The fake Trump dossier, paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC, was the basis for a FISA surveillance application on a US Citizen. Now tell me this isn't NAZI like actions. Even a republican, Rod Rosenstein, is involved! These people, who besmirch American traditions with seditious acts, should be arrested for domestic terrorism and held in GITMO. Military trials to follow. This would turn things around!
ReplyDelete@11:14. Wow! So many flat out lies, unsubstantiated allegations, selective omissions and delusions that it is not even worth a response. If you really believe everything you said then we live on a different planet, in a different universe. I actually feel sorry for you. Your life must be a living hell of paranoid fantasies.
ReplyDeleteFact: Comey signed three FISA apps on the basis of a dossier he called, "salacious and unverified." Comey was either incompetent or dishonest. I've heard him speak. I'm going with dishonest. And I love when radical abortion supporting Ds cite the famous pro-life extremist, St. Theresa. I don't think she was down with partial birth and peddling fetal body parts for profit. But hey, knock yourself out.
ReplyDeleteHe's dangerous. Leaders of democratic republics don't require their audiences to applaud them. Loyalty to trump is not the same as loyalty to the country. Quite the opposite, actually.
ReplyDeleteTrump's trying to discredit US intelligence agencies and the DOJ to lessen the blow when the results of the Mueller investigation are released and the extent of his entanglement with Russia is made known.

"What we found in the public record suggests a more limited assertion under oath by Comey -- that he’d said portions of the memo were "salacious and unverified," not the whole thing. (We owe a debt in this fact-check to writings by two conservative blogs, RedState and HotAir.)"
Democrats have a very simple solution to all of this...just register as a republican.
ReplyDeleteYou do realize you can just change parties there's no ideological test. Republicans do it all the time in order to run for an open seat.
You will even receive phone calls and political flyers you can take to the polls showing who NOT to vote for, which can make things easy if you're to busy to listen to the chatter.
It's just a word. If you can't beat them join them and beat them.
If you are for gun control, for example, join the NRA.
If you are in a anti-government militia, join the military and get the best training.
An old WWII veteran told me along time ago, nothing is as it seems, when it comes to politics smart people find out what their boss is registered as, that's how you should register.
Right now democrats and republicans shout at each other across the room, you could do more damage if you could get closer.

I agree with that statement. One does not have to like Mr. Trump. One does not have to agree with current administrative policies. There is indeed room for debate on the issues. He is our duly elected President. This would include all US citizens. I do not understand why some would choose not to stand or applaud or show any sign of praise at any positive trend or accomplishment, or even show any respect for those who experienced personal tragedy. More and more it seems that expressing hatred and dislike for the individual who is the President of the United States is more important to some than the direction of our nation and its success. Even on this blog there seems to be tacit approval for the obviously completely partisan display by some at the SOTU. Is such a display treasonous? No. Is such a display and the direction the opposition is taking positive for the United States? No.
Things become so much clearer when issues are not seen through a democrat or republican lens.
ReplyDelete1:53pm
ReplyDeleteYou are right everyone should stand, and clap, and click their heels, and salute, and chant the mantra of our greatness.
@Jeff Fox: I never felt this much emotion during any other President throughout my life; whether I agreed with them or not, and I vote for both parties. Trump is the exception, for many obvious reason. And when I voice concern over his Presidency and his behavior, what do I get...being called a snowflake, libtard, treasonous, unpatriotic and so forth.
ReplyDeleteI always thought that the Republicans stood for common decency and were the moral authority party. I was wrong and Trump was right...They ONLY care about "Winning" at all cost and by doing so, they sold their principled righteousness for this buffoon. Job well done.
Did you see the African congressmen. They all had on their African scarves and just sat there. They were making a statement that we are separatists. they acted like they were not part of the country.
ReplyDeleteMLK would be ashamed of them.
President Trump is making people decide of they stands with America or not. He is a new generation of founding fathers.
4:23pm "He is a new generation of founding fathers"
ReplyDeleteDid you get that from the movie, The Purge?
"New founding fathers" say that real slow to yourself.
@4:23 "African Congressmen"? Was there a foreign delegation at the State of the Union? Oh, I get it. The Blacks! Very deft of you to display your racism in such genteel terms. Bless your little, shriveled heart.
ReplyDeletePresident Trump is making people get off their ass or die off . I mean this financially. He is forcing venues that waist tax dollars in California and Massachusetts to get on their reps to control spending .thus $10,000 local tax deductions . The people will stop the waist . Too many freeloading employees like our toll bridge commission. What do they do there for example now that we have EZ Pass . Well they get paid ,and non of us can stop this non- sense . This is the stuff that Trump is about. So , if your a toll bridge guy you might look to see if you can get a real job soon . Now , there are much larger issues that toll takes . How about California they cost the rest of the states plenty and resetly they want to “separate “ . Good Gov. Brown dubed “moonbeam “ is a Whachjob! They get what they deserve. So do expect US to subsidize them . Screw them . ,
ReplyDeleteL
Yea screw them. Trump is too busy subsidizing the oil companies and corporate overlords.
DeleteJeff Fox, my approval isn't tacit. It is very blatant. And it is not uncommon for members of the opposition party to remain seated and not applaud at the SOTU. How do you feel about comrade trump calling dedicated members of Congress, many of whom served our country in the military, treasonous at what was supposed to be a non-partisan event in Ohio?
ReplyDeleteAnon 6:30 “ many who have served our country in the military “ Please state whom your reference is of . Don pick on Mr Fox personally . And I sign my fucking name .
ReplyDeleteI want picking on Mr. Fox...I think we're having a pretty respectful exchange of ideas here. Many members of the house have served, namely Tammy Duckworth. Her response to the treason comment was spot-on.
ReplyDelete*wasn't
DeleteYa anon 6:47 that is might be critical of Mr Fox . Well Production pays wages ,wages pay mortgages and college educations . It buys cars and pays taxes and the “evolution “ of an economy. You sound like you have been freeloading so long you forget there are actually jobs to be had .
ReplyDeleteTrickle-down doesn't work. Corporations pay over 90% of their profits to shareholders in dividends; corporate tax cuts don't benefit the actual workers in the long run. And I've worked at non-stop since I was 15. My husband and I both work full-time, we earn above average income and we have no kids...we pay our fair share of taxes. I even pay any additional "commuter tax" to subsidize Easton's bloated pension system for retired city employees.
DeleteSpeaking of pensions, the indicted one has CURED APD,AFD and all public servants pension problems. Now we pay a rain water tax that officials are going to float bondz on anticipated revenues before they are even collected.
DeleteWe will not mention the nonprofit land holding that will be exempt federally from this fee!
Trump is delirious, not mentally fit to be president and now, the asshole wants a military parade? Where is the impeachment process?
ReplyDeleteDonald Trump is a full supporter of the military. He has done everything for them but join. he is the ultimate military hero. I bet he has medals.
ReplyDeleteSeriously?! How much is his parade going to cost the taxpayers? I can't quite find the right word for a draft- dodger who now wants a parade to show how strong our military is. "Ironic" just doesn't seem to cut it...
ReplyDeleteWhen Blob the Builder starts locking up the late night guys who mock the crap out of him I'll be even more grateful for that second amendment right he claims to cherish, but I'm pretty sure by then he'll come up with a reason to curtail that right also along with free speech.
ReplyDeleteAs for supporters, how much of the cool-aid did you drink? How can you deny the fact that he placed these Repub boyscouts in their positions and then got pissed that they are actually doing their jobs? Whatever you're on, please get me some. Sure, whatever it is make the world look black and white (sorry WHITE and black) but it obviously takes the trouble of thinking and reality out of the process for an easier life.
Trump & his immediate / extended Family are the ones guilty of being "treasonous". Just like when Pa'low'ski gets convicted, he's traded the office for $$$$. The taxpayers were sinned upon!
ReplyDeleteTick tock, tick, tock...
Bernie, I know you usually dislike quoted passages, but an earlier Republican president 100 years ago had another idea of what is "morally treasonable". TR, 1918:
ReplyDelete"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct … Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public…”
President Trump was mocked by the Democrats when he said that Trump Tower was wiretapped and he and his team were being spied on by their own government.
ReplyDeleteNow we know, confirmed by the FISA memo, that it not only happened, but also that it happened at the behest of the opposition DNC and Hillary Clinton colluding with a corrupt Loretta Lynch led Department of Justice and James Comey's FBI that used FISA warrant requests based on a Russian-linked dossier Hillary Clinton paid for
No tax returns & who's going to build that wall? Thief & a liar!
ReplyDelete@9:31 If you are referring to an over payment of FITW, you probably don't need to worry about that. From my understanding, most Democrats don't earn enough money to incur a Federal income tax liability. Most live on Federal handouts from the HHS. That's why they support Progressives like Hillary Clinton.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the HHS and how would one go about living off of it?
ReplyDeleteTrump is so corrupt that I really can't imagine that any of his supporters can't see it. Do you just not care that Russia has infiltrated our democratic system???
ReplyDeleteGo Putin! Go Putin! Go, go, go Putin! Back in the USSR! I loves me some Donald!
Delete"resident Trump was mocked by the Democrats when he said that Trump Tower was wiretapped and he and his team were being spied on by their own government."
ReplyDeleteWhat Trump said was that HE was wiretapped, and by Obama. We know both of these claims are lies.
"What Trump said was that HE was wiretapped, and by Obama. We know both of these claims are lies."
ReplyDeleteWell, yes and no.
No, because Wiretaps are a thing of the past, and of courses Obama wasn't sneaking around trump tower planting bugs.
Yes, because EVERYONE'S phone and emails are intercepted and recorded by the NSA.
But hey, I'm sure they are of the finest sort...not like they'd use that stuff to strong arm politicians and prominent business leaders.
one writer had a good point
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump-cracks-the-seal-on-talk-of-treason?ref=scroll
"Set aside the abundant evidence of Trump’s campaign connections to the Russians, and his long history of business relationships with people such as Felix Sater, Aras Agalarov, Tevfik Arif, and a host of others tied to Vladimir Putin’s kleptocracy. Ignore for a moment that Robert Mueller has arrested four senior Trump advisers and is stacking other officials like cordwood.
Just look at his post-election behavior toward Russia, because if we’re going to play tag-the-traitor, let’s get to it. Trump’s abject, boot-licking obedience to Russia and Putin speaks for itself."
and
"When Congress sent Trump veto-proof legislation demanding he impose sanctions on Russia, Comrade Don waited until the last second to impose, well, nothing. When Putin arrested campaign opponent Alexei Navalny on phony charges, Vlad’s errand boy in the Oval Office remained silent.
For some reason, this president seems determined to demonstrate that he will do anything, at any time, to please the Russian authoritarian. He will tear down the United States government around him to hide from accountability. He will wreck alliances, compromise intelligence sources, and endanger our troops to please Putin. There’s a word for that."
Trump is detestable. But Obama was a filthy sleazy gangster. His administration was even worse. I don't know how any president gets better approval ratings than ringworm and AIDS. They're all dirty. Every. Single. One.
ReplyDeletehe is a detestable draft dodger with an 8th grade education.
ReplyDelete@10:44 Newly-released Strzok-Page lovebird text messages: 'potus wants to know everything we're doing'
ReplyDeleteObama is in this up to this eyeballs .........
Tick, tick, tick… we’re getting closer and closer to the “What did the president know and when did he know it?” moment in the biggest political scandal in American history.
ReplyDeleteWhat looks like a sitting president authorizing the use of the vast spy apparatus of the federal government on the opposing party candidate for president would, if proven, be far bigger than Watergate – a mere burglary intended to spy on the opposition.
Pay attention because you may want to tell your children or grandchildren what it was like watching this all unfold in 2018.

You don't get it do you? Intelligence discovered Russian influence and communications which could affect our elections. It would be incumbent on any president to follow up on such matters with all the material available. Failure to do so would be negligent on Obama or any other president's part.
Here's the problem with all these accusations. No one (not even FOX News) can find one damn thing Obama ever did with that information which he used in the campaign for Hillary against Trump. Which blows this whole stupid conspiracy theory out of the water.
LVCI @12:26 "... No one (not even FOX News) can find one damn thing Obama ever did with that information which he used in the campaign for Hillary against Trump. ..."
ReplyDeleteCalm down. Get your popcorn. The show is just beginning.
LCVI.... Looks like Lisa Page is the weak link in this massive conspiracy by Obama and all of his men and women. (I'm thinking All the President's men, but that was used already.....)
ReplyDeleteStrzok confided everything to her about the "insurance policy" and the "Plan." It should be obvious to everyone, even Sessions, that the policy and plan was to help Hillary Clinton win, and destroy Trump if he won by spying on his campaign.
I believe Attorney General Sessions is waiting for the Horowitz IG report which will give him political cover to appoint a Special Counsel to investigate the Comey investigation of the Hillary "matter," which is directly related and mixed with the FISA warrants.
Strzok is the main operator in both. Page will give up Strzok, then Strzok will have to decide if he takes the fall for McCabe and Obama. Strzok reported to McCabe. He will give up McCabe.
I doubt McCabe will take the fall for Obama.
And we have James Comey who knows what happened. He seems to have some remnant of conscience when he detailed Hillary's criminality during his July 2 press conference while giving her a pass. Comey is the wild card.
When these canaries sing, And they will. Mr Obama will be joining Mrs Clinton and others of the Obama cabal in Leavenworth.
I think what may pretty damn near treasonous is when the leader of a country is trying to discredit one half of it's legislators, it's investigative branch (FBI), it's justice department, judicial system and about half of the voters who didn't support him. Someone who wants a great big shiny military parade bigger then France's, Russia's or North Korea's. Someone who wants to spend this nation into insolvency much like he did with many own his businesses.
ReplyDeleteSomeone who in the last 24 hours indicated he's willing (if not somewhat enthusiastic) to shut the government down if he doesn't get 100% of his demands. Here's my idea about that. If the government shuts down so should his helicopters and AF1 be taken out of service. The last shutdown he couldn't have given a rats ass less. He still went golfing and enjoying the good life unaffected. Let him sit in the White House with the kitchen locked shut and his underwear go unwashed..
One more thing-- What do you think would have been said if Obama had pulled this kind of crap?
Someone needs to be indicted and a court procedure started. I believe that will happen within months. However, all the sworn testimony, by whomever, will come years into the future. Until then, like so much in this nation . . . nothing is certain.
ReplyDeleteVoters will need to become their own judge and jury next time they head to the election booth.

Where's your proof Obama did one damn thing you're accusing him of? That's right, you can't.
My Final Words On This--
Even if your Obama and Clinton dreams of locking them up came true it wouldn't change a damn thing regarding the fate of this country under Trump. I am truly of the belief Trump will never be satisfied till he has utter complete control. Even then it wouldn't satisfy his whims. He'd only get worse. But go ahead keep deluding yourself that somehow everything will become utopian once all of his opposition is neutralized.
The Russians were playing both sides against the middle. Both campaigns were dealing with them. The RNC fought off a dozen hack attempts. Ds might have well been on Putin's server, as all of their emails were being read. Nobody should be shocked. Putin is KGB. From Trump's coddling to Obama's "I'll have more flexibility after the Congressional elections," they're all dirty. Every. Single. One. The sycophants of both parties refuse to acknowledge their own sleaze and are running for cover while pointing at the other guy. They're all guilty. It's naive to think otherwise. Bernie defends his side. The Trumpsters defend their side. The fact is that they're all right about each other.
ReplyDelete3:08 Think for a minute. If you were Putin, and you had a choice between dealing with Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, just whom would you want to win?
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that the Clintons have already shown they are willing to accept bribes though their foundation. This is why all of this Russia and Trump stuff the Democrats have been pushing for a year makes absolutely no sense.
I actually thought about it more than a minute....and looked at a few facts along the way. Although Hillary has/had quite a few faults she was dead set against the Russians expanding their territory. Whereas we now have a President who seems to have huge loans from Russians (money laundering anyone?) because no U.S. bank would lend him a dime due to his multiple bankruptcies. Lo and behold, the Republican stance on the Russians was modified as soon as Drumpf became the candidate (Hey, didn't he say something more than a few times about showing his tax report?) . Which of course then leads to anyone who brings up anything about these details to be an enemy of the state, along with any other distractions he can come up with. I wonder how much his personal parade is going to cost? Bring these subjects up or any other and Caligutrump claims you are treasonous. But Trumpateers, just keep fronting for this huge patriot...of Russia.
