NorCo Paid $3,390 For Lushis Firm Copyrights at GPA

Earlier this week, I told you that Northampton County's General Purpose Authority (GPA) Solicitor John Lushis is the attorney who represents Northampton County's General Purpose Authority (GPA) incredibly copyrighting six agreements he's prepared for the GPA. According to the U.S. Copyright office, These documents were all registered on 10/5/17 under the following copyright numbers: TX0008456750; TX0008456708; TX0008456702; TX0008456704; TX0008456707; and TX0008456700.

Lushis has made these documents the property of the law firm Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus.

I now have the bills that Lushis's firm submitted to the County in 2016 and 2017.

I'll be reporting on them this Monday, but thought you'd like to know that Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus.actually charged the county for the cost of registering these copyrights.

According to invoice #10797926, the county was billed $3,390 to file six copyright applications on 10/5/17.

A copyright application costs between $35-55

Oh yeah, this story is copyrighted, so watch out! ©

It has been interesting reading your recent stories on the GPA. It not something the average Joe pays attention to, so as they say, if the cat's away the mice will play. You're like the ally cat who just walked into their world.

This and another "School District" Law Firm need grand jury investigations.

I am not going to allow anonymous personal attacks against the Lushis law firm or its members. I sign my name to my criticisms and expect others to do as well. If you can't do that, don't comment.

Query has been made into the copyright issue to both the Pennsylvania State Attorney General's office and the Northampton County Attorney General's office.

Where was Steven Barron when this was being done?

12:02, he does not audit GPA.

More shady moves and the county paid this bill? Bigger question is where was the Fiscal Director? What would he now know about this?

Bernie O'Hare said...

Brown no doubt authorized these payments. Blame the right person.

You have to remind people the years and the executive, over and over again, because you know they blame whoever is sitting there now, even if it was done 2 years ago, this is how they make fake news
I was told that if a lie was told with enough conviction for enough time, it becomes the truth or our new fake president trump

Not good. But a drop in the bucket compared to endless payback of a ridiculously irresponsible $100M bond. Whoever did that should not be anywhere near county government and anyone who would nominate such a person shows exactly the same level of outrageous fiscal irresponsibility and poor judgment of personnel. One group of government incompetents has simply been replaced by another.

It was $111 million, not $100, and I am one of those who sued over it. Where were you? Having said that, this happened 17 years ago. Time to move on.

5:53, I will make this clear in my story on Monday. Lamont McClure is trying to stop the nonsense.

Would like to see total billings for any of these days. Must have a paper form to fill in total hours billed each day. Wonder if they exceed an 8 hour day. Remember a movie years ago where lawyers were billing hours in excess of 8 per day. Who paid for these lawyers to go to the bathroom or have lunch.
