Meanwhile ... in the People's Republic of Allentown

From Local 302: Ladder Truck #1 out of service out of the city for repairs. Ladder Truck #2 Out of Service broke down on a call. Engine 11 a 75' quint acting as the Aerial truck. The City is growing and reliable fire trucks are a must. This again highlights the absolute necessity for a Replacement Plan and a new Fleet Services Contact. Call the Mayor and let him know this is unacceptable.

Since ANIZDA is looking to spend $2 M of NIZ funds for street lighting and sidewalk repairs, ( MC May 22, 2017) why don't they also try for a new Aerial Truck. That money would be that much less for developers but their buildings are a big part of the need for new aerial fire trucks.

Until Allentown is smart enough to vote Pawlowski out, I have no sympathy.

2:29 I agree!

I blame this problem on Mayor Pawlowski and I blame white super voters who live in the wealthy West End for the Mayor Pawlowski problem because I read the racist Molovinsky's hate blog and, because of that, I know dog whistles when I hear them.

But wait I thought it was only a political stunt.

This is getting tiresome O'Hare. You caught in a creative rut? Are we talking possible sabotage?

Bernie O'Hare said...

First we were told it was just political. Now it is "tiresome." ... Until it's your house that's on fire.

Blame the uniformed Center City dwellers and the deluded Eastside voters for this! The slickster "Fed Ed", Mayor for life, is alive and back to his old self; arrogant, lying, and vindictive. You wanted him Allentown and most likely your stuck with him in the long run.

7:22 What is a "White Super Voter" ?

Anonymous said...

This is getting so tiresome. Pawlowski has been re-elected. Get over it.

What is the informative meeting today at 5:00?

Anonymous said...

If the union is so concerned, why don't they go on strike?

Anonymous said...

1969 Act 111 precludes police and fire from striking.

I lay the blame squarely on City Council. They are the ones responsible for the budget cuts to the fire department.

the Mayor only proposes a budget, City Council Cuts and Cuts and Cuts

10:45 The law can't prevent them from being sick.

The idea is to not further hurt the citizens and add to the Public Safety Crisis the city is currently in. The idea is to bring awareness to the fact that mismanagement of the city has and will continue to be the genesis of the Crisis.

This problem won't go away overnight, even if the city decided to purchase an aerial truck today. You don't go to the fire truck sales lot and say "I'll take that one". Unless used or demo apparatus is purchased, it's going to take 1 year from the time of commitment to delivery.

^When I said "commitment", I mean from the day it it ordered.

Bernie, just a better implication 509 7th street value seita' the late great Tom Stupak's property management? What was the collective collaborative cause clause ruling on that one! The flames were shooting through two lanes of traffic!
