Molovinsky's Petty Ad Hominem

Bill White behind Hall of  Famer Jim Gregory
On April 8, Morning Call columnist Bill White alerted his readers that he's seeking his annual nominations for his Hall of Fame  He followed that up with a blog entry on April 10. In the process, he mentioned many, but not all, of his previous selections for this modern-day equivalent of the ducking stool.  This exposes them to community derision again. It really is a horrible thing to do. What bothers me most is that I never thought of it.

One of the people Bill neglected to mention is me. I was inducted a few years ago, though I had to share the honor with Dennis Pearson.

This disappointed blogger Michael Molovinsky. He apparently was looking forward to seeing me held up to scorn. When that failed to happen, he offered up several ridiculous conspiracy theories.

They involve the Keystone Press awards and a picture of Bill that I took of him sitting behind Jim Gregory at Charlie Dent's recent town hall. .Gregory, incidentally, is another Hall of Famer. Bill White neglected to mention him, too I'll leave it to Molovinsky to determine why. I'm sure he knows.

I have a theory of my own for this omission.

Bill forgot. He never said he was identifying every person upon whom he bestowed his dubious honor. But I'm sure he'll make up it now because he's an award-winning columnist, damn it.

And Molovinsky isn't. He has actually suggested himself as a replacement of Paul Carpenter as the local misanthrope, but has never learned to use proper punctuation or grammar.

His ad hominem at both White and me is a  petty and mean-spirited display by a jealous man.  He should stick to his attacks on women.

  1. MM is a grisly old curmudgeon who couldn't garner much more than 3% in his dismal failure of 2005 mayoral effort. He is jelly that you Bill White, the Med Manslab, and Hank Rod went out for shisha and twinks after this town hall. MM should consider "discounting" one of his nubile male tenants late rent instead of being so sexally frustrated.

  2. I read MM's opinion when it appeared on your sidebar. I rarely read anything he writes but he did come across as pissed off that you weren't mentioned. I was surprised because I thought the both of you were on better terms. His reasoning was that of somebody writing down thoughts while drunk. I'm waiting for him to reveal the name of the person on the grassy knoll.

  3. There are not many men who can compete with the Mediterranean manslab. The bronzed god of masculinity stands alone.

  4. What does a ducking stool do? It quacks you up?

I thought we were friends at one time. That was a mistake I will never repeat with him.

  6. I respect Mike even if he disagrees with me, as I do with you sometimes Bernie. I think the whole Blog Mentor situation when that person was impersonating several of us made many of us wary a few years back. The more people find things they agree on, the more likely they find things to disagree on. It happens. Sometimes we move to a good place where we all accept one another's offbeat opinions, sometimes we don't.

I'm tired of him, Chris, and refuse to extend him any more courtesy. I would ordinarily delete the comment above, but he has allowed personal attacks aimed at me, and has made them himself. He has criticized me for being loyal to those I support, so I'll display no loyalty to him.

  10. On second thought, I'm deleting the hate anyway. Not out of loyalty to MM, but out of my respect for myself.

  12. Molovinsky, Spew your nonsense on your site. I've had enough of your self-important observations, pretended moral superiority and false implications. You are a petty and little man.

  14. I think the moral here is that nobody likes to be ridiculed, whether it's in a Bill White column or a local blog.

The personal stuff might be fun to read (and write), but doesn't really further a higher purpose.

Maybe it's time for fewer personal attacks and more focus on issues.

    For everyone.

  15. I read the entry at MM's blog. It was not mean or angry. You are a very emotional person Bernie and let your feelings rule you thinking. After reading what he wrote and you wrote, he comes off as the sensible one in this discussion. You need to lighten up and not get so emotional all the time.

  17. 3:15,
It was definitely a complaint that Ohare was omitted. His opinion was Ohares name was omitted because of his belief of favoritism shown by Ohare to White. If White wouldn't mention it, Molovinski wanted to make sure his 3 readers knew about it.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
