In recent days, President-elect Donald Trump has been engaged in a pissing match with Georgia Congressman John Lewis, a civil rights leader who marched with Martin Luther King and paid for it with beatings, arrests and a skull fracture. Both have been petty. Lewis refuses to recognize that Trump is his President, while the latter erupted in a tweetstorm, reciting several inaccuracies along the way.
Now Trump is going to show Lewis by snubbing a planned visit to the African American Museum.
This is sure to delight the numerous racists who supported Trump, but is also evidence that he simply lacks the temperament to be a President. I want him to succeed, but thin-skinned gestures like this are appalling.

Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics.
