NorCo: No Comment on Ex Adoption Supervisor Accused of Killing Adopted Daughter
At one time, the dailies looked down their noses at TV reporters. Now they get their stories from them.
Northampton County's Brown administration has just issued its usual uninformative news release, admitting that Packer was employed by the county between 2003 and 2010, but nothing else.
This is yet another demonstration of a complete lack of transparency. The dailies are stretched so thin they don't notice.

You own views are appreciated, especially if they differ from mine. But remember, commenting is a privilege, not a right. I will delete personal attacks or off-topic remarks at my discretion. Comments that play into the tribalism that has consumed this nation will be declined. So will comments alleging voter fraud unless backed up by concrete evidence. If you attack someone personally, I expect you to identify yourself. I will delete criticisms of my comment policy, vulgarities, cut-and-paste jobs from other sources and any suggestion of violence towards anyone. I will also delete sweeping generalizations about mainstream parties or ideologies, i.e. identity politics. My decisions on these matters are made on a case by case basis, and may be affected by my mood that day, my access to the blog at the time the comment was made or other information that isn’t readily apparent.
I don't disagree with your assessment and its implications at all, Bernie, but I don't know if they're legally allowed to release any more information.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly can release more. They can state why she was terminated and what she was being paid.
ReplyDeleteBernie,
DeleteDo you think this local gang of killers and pedophiles offers there offering up to a higher gang ring and are following there orders with national as well as world gang ties?
what do you want them to say, she has been terminated from employment since february of 2010 why should they have a statement about this heinous crime?
ReplyDeleteyou are really scraping for a story these past few days aren't you?
According to Lehighvalleylive:
ReplyDeleteSara Packer was hired in January 2003 to work in the adoption unit of Northampton County's Department of Human Services, county Controller Stephen Barron Jr. told lehighvalleylive.com
She was promoted to supervisor and worked with the county until she was suspended without pay on Jan. 15, 2010, Barron said. Around that time, Packer's husband was under investigation in abuse cases involving children, Barron said.
12:08, When a person accused of the murder of her adopted daughter happens to have worked as an adoption supervisor in NC, that is highly relevant information. That is a matter of public interest. While I don't expect the county to volunteer this information, I would have expected them to state what they are legally able to state when approached by NBC10 in December. If I was scraping for a story, I would have written about this in December bc i knew then as well. I decided to wait until the middle of the month bc the reporter was going to visit the Human Services committee.
ReplyDeleteBernie,
ReplyDeleteThis all screams of the Browne hole design by design and there hidden reel agenda driven upon the backs of the innocent indigent ones as insurable perils on state levels! My thoughts are on the saddistically sad passing and ACTORS that caused the stepdaughters untimely passing! Seems to me these types of degenerates infect this sector of human services for underlieing reasons?
Sick sick people infecting the triboro!

Interesting.
ReplyDeleteStandard reaction by government. Talk to the lawyers first before saying anything to the public

ReplyDeleteWhy are you attacking Brown.? Why not go after the Director of the Children's Bureau, Dolan that promoted her or the county Executive, Stoffa, that let it happen?
ReplyDeleteNow that is misdirection.
The "kids for cash" scandal unfolded in 2008 over judicial kickbacks at the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Two judges, President Judge Mark Ciavarella and Senior Judge Michael Conahan, were convicted of accepting money from Robert Mericle, -- the NOR CO version is about to unfold
ReplyDeleteMisdirection by O'Hare. The last Admisntration should be held accountable not Brown. Who ran that Department?
ReplyDelete3:56 & 4:13 are ateempting to politicize and this, not me. The county administration needs to get out in front of this issue and assure the public that CYF employees like Kevin Dolan are exceptional. The public should have confidence that problems are weeded out before they can do damage. Yes she was hired under Reibman and promoted and then fired under Stoffa, and both of those former execs know that the public needs to be informed that the department runs well and the people in it have the best interest of children in mind. Brown has instead muzzled the department and has circled the wagons in yet another demonstration of a complete lack of transparency or accountability to the public he is supposed to serve.
ReplyDeleteGo away! Leave us alone.
ReplyDeleteWhen you hire someone you never can tell. Who the Hell promoted this person to a management position? That or those people should be fired immediately!
ReplyDeleteI get that people want more information but what does her salary from 6 or 7 years ago matter in this scheme of what she did. She's a disgusting POS who is giving decent Human Service workers a bad name. You will not find one person in human services that condones anything she did. Additionally you can point fingers all you want but how would someone who supervised her have known that she was capable of this heinous crime when they hired her/promoted her? Is there anyone on here that personally knew her and knew that she was planning something like this and the CYF administration just turned their heads and promoted her anyway? The people to point fingers at are the two people who committed the crime and brutally took an innocent life.
ReplyDeleteanon 12:32, sounds like a typical social worker deflecting. This may just be the tip of the iceberg in problems.
