As Superintendent in Bangor, DeFelice garnered a reputation as a likable and earnest administrator motivated by what he thought was best for the students.

I guess the good old boys finally had their fill of Frank. I'm sure there is another tool in the box waiting to continue business as usual at the district. Bangor has problems and a board with their heads in the ground hog holes.

Any ideas who might be in line to fill the Bangor Superintendent job?

National Search about to begin- wont be anyone inside nor any NORCO bumpkins-

Hopefully someone with a brain and the guts to tell these school board business types to make education their priority instead of always voting their conservative politics.

Begging the public to run for school board seats. Get rid of these people who have drug this schools ratings down in the name of conservatism. Our kids deserve better than what they are being asked to accept as public education.

I see that one of the building principals has their doctorate and perhaps others have their letters of eligibility. Are we certain it won't be internal?

Elaine, I can only go by my dealings with him, and they were very positive. The chief criticism of him is he's too nice.

Too nice? I beg to differ and point to the large amount of law suits and payments made to litigants over the years since he took over under dubious circumstances. This board wanted him then and not the lady he replaced who was paid off to go away. There will be no national search..it's all inbred at Bangor. It's who you know not what you know.

5:58 also posted the comment appearing at 5:59, which I deleted because it is a blatant lie. As for the comment at 5:59, Dr. DeFelice is not from the Bangor area so you are pretty much off base there, too.

School Boards have 9 members to make a broad statement that conservative politics instead of education as the priority comes from someone that must live under a rock. To be on a school board is a NON paying thankless job full of Monday night quarterbacks without any knowledge directly because they have never been to a meeting some before they ran and got elected. They do put in countless hours and all have a passion for students education and not personal gain. Many meeting and no matter what they do- someone is always right there to say it was wrong.

DeFelice was one of the most disingenuous administrators I have ever encountered. While I will give him credit for being good at playing politics, he was weak when it came to making tough decisions.
